Having seen the original first, I had reservations about how a Hollywood remake could possibly pull off the intensity and darkness of the story, James McAvoy was the only reason I had to see the remake because I knew he would kill the role as he does in all his films. I can honestly say, the remake was done very well, it takes its own path and was highly entertaining in its own right. I could tell the people in my theater that weren’t familiar with the original didn’t know what was coming, they were as hype and were talking back to the screen, particularly the women in the audience 😂 I will definitely be including it to my favorite movies list of 2024. Please do yourselves a favor and watch the original, it’s even more fucked up if you can believe it. I highly recommend it!
Anyone know how this compares to the original? It is weird to me that American versions tend to have happier endings than their foreign counterparts, but I bet James McAvoy was amazing. Gotta see this when I can.
The original is way more bleak. I like the tone of the original more but it's so depressing that it's one of those movies that I'll watch one time & probably never again. I enjoyed this new version but it could have maybe went a little bit further into the dark side.
It’s great, but the original is much darker. James McAvoy is amazing in it. No spoilers, but I will say, try not to compare it to the original. I’ve see the original and it’s lightening in a bottle. See this movie as its own thing and I think you’ll be entertained.
the child actor that playing the boy had a brigjt future, the way he play this character that can’t speak and had to play pretend and hide a lot of pain is crazy, the ending pay off reall well for his character
Everyone’s so tough when they aren’t standing in front of a psychopath three times your size. The guy was beyond intimidating. Don’t play like your made of something that can take something three times your size. It was refreshing to see a husband scared and not literal Superman during high-stress moments. Made the character grounded
@@HinchDiggity True this, he was lucky the "chef" was the one he tried to hammer. But also man wasn't assertive throughout the movie and still kinda bad to just blame the husband. Their relationship as a whole is messy already considering the sexting and man didn't discussed it thoroughly, then again they weren't their house to go all out argue. It is more grounded, not all relationships have a man that steps up. It's a nice touch that the movie doesn't need to show the husband being incapacitated before the wife steps up. Here she already was in control. Also their kid was the one that got them to go back 😂
It’s been so long since I’ve seen you guys i haven’t watched yt and haven’t seen any vids idk how but when I seen you guys nothing but nostalgia from the try not to laugh 😂I definitely put water in my mouth too 😢 I done got older and graduated and everything im really getting older
It’s ridiculous with how they changed the ending. You can’t always have happy endings. The movie Descent had to change their ending because the US audience didn’t like the original ending.
I want to rave about this movie! But god damn, the main characters horrible decision making drops this movies rating for me personally. When you find out the couples history and plan, it's so good!! But the movie could've ended an hour earlier than it did, if you've seen the movie you know
