Are you serious? That simple? Wish I had watched your video 10 years ago. Oh my God!! I kept on returning to Home Depot 3x, these people looked at me like I was an idiot!! Thank you so much. Love it man.
Great video Shannon. Thanks for explaining the part about moving the foot right to the top. I was smashing the tiles and I think its because I had the wheel in the mix.
Maybe it's because my tile cutter is old, but often scoring more than once can leave not the cleanest of cuts. Hence, I never find the need to score more than once
Can a square shape be cut out of the edge of the tile with this tool? All lines would be straight, but without extending to the other edge of the tile.
Hi! I am a big fan of your tutorials! I am planning to make the baseboard with cut pieces of 10 mm thick porcelain tiles (very same as the floor). my question: can I get a perfect cut with a tool like this or do I need to buy an electronic saw instead? thanks
Thanks for the video. In your opinion, would the score and snap work well for cutting some 1 sq ft tiles at a 90 degree angle (into triangles basically)? I’m not sure if positioning them “not straight” would be an issue. Hoping my message reaches you, thanks in advance!
Excellent video/presentation: NO non-sense and to the point. God Bless.
Straight and to the point makes you appreciate videos like this!
This is probably the best home improvement channel out right now. Thanks Shannon!
Thank you
I've learned so much from you over the last few years. Thank you so very much.

Probably the best video on this subject. Thank You Sir !
Best Manual Cutter Demo... Thanks Shannon ~
My 1st tile cutting up next, glad I saw this tutorial
Just finished an 8'×5' wall of 12×12 mosaic backsplash and having the wet saw is needed! Especially for the small 1/2"- 1/4" pieces
Thanks Shannon, glass tiles are a challenge to avoid shatters.
Great explanation!

Thanks Shannon always full of great info
I bought one of these and no matter how hard I press or how many times I score it, when I go to break it, it breaks wherever it pleases.. what gives?
Do you oil the wheel?
How is it for cutting corner to corner? Diagonal.
My wet cutting machine always chips the edges a bit
I enjoyed the video simply put great.
Another great video. Thanks!
Thanks Shannon!
Can you cut porcelain with this type of tool? Thanks
Yes.
Great video, as always, thank you very much!
Can i sharpen the wheel on a manual tile cutter ? An answer is very much appreciated .
not that i know of. They are cheap just purchase one and keep another on hand if you want.
I think in the video you were cutting ceramic. Does it make a difference if you were using this for porcelain tile too?
Is that a 24in one?
This one is a 20" I believe
I pulled up my tile and there cincrete broke out in chunks .what do I do next to replace
Love the vids. Keep em comin.
I have this exact mosaic in my shower ❤
Great video!
What do you recommend for cutting marble.
Does it work for vetrified tiles as well
I would think so but I have never used them. Check with the manufacture of sales person
Would this tool work on vinyl flooring?
no
Do you find the bigger scoring wheel works better then the small 1/2 inch ones when it comes to cutting 3/8 large format floor tile?
I prefer the larger wheel yes
You’re definitely Canadian 👍🏽 nice video
Yes I am!
I have to shave about 1/2 off tile. I have tried 3 times and tile keeps breaking. Is there a minimum you have to take off to use cutter and snapping??
1/2" can be tricky with a snap cutter. Try a wet saw or a grinder with a masonry blade.
Can a square shape be cut out of the edge of the tile with this tool? All lines would be straight, but without extending to the other edge of the tile.
No
Unless you managed to score the square on both sides and then applied pressure to only that square, I don't see how else it would be done with this.
How deep must the scoring be so I’ll have a clean straight cut?
Not sure that it is really measurable . In most cases 2-3 passes across the tile will produce a clean cut.
@@HouseImprovements thanks. I will try it out and hopefully get the hang of it.
The wheel doesn’t touch the tile. How do I adjust it downward?
Turn the handle counter clock wise on most snap cutters to loosen the cutting wheel shaft and lower it.
Mine keeps chipping idk what to do
Can I cut vinyl plank???
Not with this tool.
They need to make a dado set for those things
there screen under that .note it upstairs bathroom sub floor
I have a question Shannon. can you help?
+timothy murchison stop by our forum @ www.house-improvements.com/forums/
Can I cut an eighth of an inch off with this ?
No ,usually these will not cut that small amount off . A wet saw is better for that cut.

for straight cuts this will work fine pretty much 99% of the time. Unless you are going to spend 1000+$ on a good wet saw

this will work for that
Great video Shannon! Thank you again for all your videos! (I still cant forgive you for your April Fools joke! 🙂)
😁
Thank you! Love your accent!!! (Minnesota?)
I've tried 10 times & I can not get it to snap. I am bearing down with all my weight. Need a diamond saw.
Score one time like a pro
Great lecture. Thank you. More grease to your elbow
yikes! Never make more than one pass. It destroys the cutting wheel.
