  • I had the pleasure of meeting Bernie Romero from Rubi Tools. What impressed me the most in this live demonstration, was the ability to cut thin pieces of porcelain with no chipping. These Rubi Cutters literally work miracles when cutting glass tile. What made a huge difference for me, was switching out the diamond wheel for the titanium wheel. The titanium wheel allows you to cut textured tile, smoother cuts, & provides longer wheel life. And as a special bonus you get a sneak peek of Rubi's latest product, the DT10 Max, a fully collapsable 10 inch tile saw.
    Have you tried a Rubi Cutter? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!!

  • @chrisryan3918

    I’m getting ready to install porcelain, wood plank style tiles with a textured face. Made by Daltile. It’s a herringbone layout, so everything will be crosscut. No rip cuts.
    Any thoughts on how these cutters will handle the texture? A 22mm was suggested for texture.

    • @HowToTileLikeaPro
      @HowToTileLikeaPro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, the 22m scoring wheel works great for textured tile. I'd recommend the titanium wheel shown around 6:30 into the video. I've used that one for textured tile multiple times with great results 👍

    • @chrisryan3918
      @chrisryan3918 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HowToTileLikeaPro awesome. Thanks. I may just have to pick one up. The Rubi website has some guidance for tile types, but I have seen a couple people mention you may have to try a wheel or two for the results.

    • @HowToTileLikeaPro
      @HowToTileLikeaPro  ปีที่แล้ว

      @chrisryan3918 Yea, you might be able to sample them out at a Rubi Supplier. Rubi also has guys that travel and do demo in different areas, similar to the one on this video👍. But in my experience that Titanium one should handle it

      Professionals know that there are different cutting wheels for different cutting materials, such as glass, ceramic, & porcelain. I bought the tungsten cutting wheel for hard porcelain 2 1/2 years ago, and I still use it to this day👍.
