This worked great for redoing the shower/bathtub of my kid's bathroom. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I didn't like the guide, so I took it off. I just used a fine tipped sharpie on the tile and followed that line. It does make a wet mess, and once I started looking like I wet myself I started wearing a towel and apron while cutting. The blade it came with worked great until we wore it out. It was better than the replacement one we bought. I tried looking for just their blade, but failed. Not really for larger tiles unless you stack stuff on either side to support the tiles. Anyway, would definitley buy again.
I'm UK based and looking to get a tile cutter as good as this one. I'm planing on recycling lots of tiles by cutting them into small squares to paint black & white for a Victorian hallway and bathroom floor. The "Victorian tiles" are very expensive so I figure I can make some from some left over tiles.
After scoring the series of square tiles, you need to bridge the left and right sides with a small block of wood. Then you can snap each one, one at a time as you move the wood.
I think you could add a small piece of wood, 1/4” thick x 1/2 x tile width to snap the mosaic tile. The wood concentrated the force on the one and subsequent tiles. Might or might not work, is a good trick I learned recently.
I picked up one of these at The ReStore and the two screws holding the end fence were loose. Mark a wide tile to the same width at the start and end of a score, compare to the wheel location, and adjust the fence angle to ensure a uniform width of cut. I was cutting 9-mm porcelain with no issues and found that a single, firm score resulted in a cleaner cut than using multiple scores. Remember to use oil on the cutting wheel and wear safety glasses to keep the chips away from your eyes.
Have you tested out the new 24" masteforce tile cutter from menards??? Wondering what your opinion is if itll be a decent cutter for someone starting out i been in trade for 2 years and looking to see whats a decent cutter for my 1st
It wouldn’t cut the sheeted tile because the bridge on the breaker is to wide. The tile has to be at least 3 inches wide. I use this same breaker for stained glass. Works great.
Omg I never realized you could cut porcelain with a regular cheap tile cutter! (Thought the cheap-y would only do thin ceramic tiles) Damn! Just tiled a small bathroom yesterday and was shocked how easy the cuts were on my $20 Home Depot special hehe. Again thank you for the videos. 👊
But on the porcelain mosaics it looks like the pressure points from the tile cutter is on the mosaics on the sides of the one with the "cut", and not on the actual mosaic that should be snapped.
I observed the very same thing in regards to the pressure points of the cutter not being on the single mosaic tile. Cutter is not designed for the small mosaic tiles as I see it..
Here in canada we have princess auto. My tile tools were out of town and I needed a cheap cutter to get me through. I bought the power fist cutter from princess auto in Hope's that I could get done work done with it for 18 dollars. Its identical to that cutter except for different branding and I was surprised at what it was able to do for so cheap.
And where does slate tile fall into the hardness of the other material you used. I’ve never remodeled anything in my life, and of all the tile to choose as a backsplash I chose slate Mosaic. I bought a tile cutter similar to yours for around 25 bucks. Trying to cut this was a joke. I also have some 2 x 2 glass tile I tried this cutter on and it literally cuts crooked. So I’ll be returning this little thing tomorrow and looking for something that will cut slate tile.
I reckon if you scored it twice it may have snapped the mosaics and porcelain But never know..it’s a good little cutter I do use my small little sigma for any job that the tile will fit and is it’s a great cutter have it years but a it’s lot dearer than 20$ Good video might get me one if these 👍
When you score, you typically only score the glaze. I tried scoring twice, but still did not snap. The rails are too weak to snap thick porcelain (they were bending). 👊
Man thats awfully cheap for a pretty decent cutter. It beats dragging your wet saw around for a small job. In the old days thats all we used unless you had really thick tile. Of course it was more expensive cutter and you could only buy them at a real tile shop. Thanks for the video.
What about 16x16 tiles? That small tool probably wont work on bigger tiles. Those wet saw machines are expensive. The cheaper manual tile saw i heard bad reviews that they are cheap and break easy. I am on a budget somewhere $40 and under. Got any tips to cut larger tiles like 16x16? Is this brand ok? I can only find the 14 inch one.
If it comes from China, you may be seeing the effects of the tariffs. I've seen the effects in some recent purchases where prices went up almost $20. I'm assuming the cause is the tariffs.

Landberg Tile TV sold out at this price. But Lowes has similar.
Just bought one little today and I was much impressed. It is easy. Easier than to cut lumber with standart saw. Of course not for too thick plates.

Me being so clueless always thought you would at least need a wet saw, very cool to learn about this much cheaper alternative
these are really useful, but you ca't make small cuts less than and inch or an inch off a large tile and you can make combo cuts.
After scoring the series of square tiles, you need to bridge the left and right sides with a small block of wood. Then you can snap each one, one at a time as you move the wood.
don't forget to put a drop of oil on the scoring wheel, about every 3rd to 6th cut depending on material.
What kind of oil?
Anything to keep it running slick. I just keep a bottle of wd40 on hand and give it a squirt every few cuts. Cheers!

I do a TON of Metro wall tiling here in London. Its the 'in' look! Always use these little cutters for metro.
they work for that small subway! 👊
Thanks buds!
God bless you. Thank you for uploading a video like that for all of us noobs out there
I’ve got a few MD tools and I’m extremely happy with the quality and the price is spectacular in comparison
It does what it's suppose to do! score and snap 👊
I believe it says on the box it cuts up to 3/8’ of a inch. Cut everything it said it would.
Save time: 2:40
Thanks for the video. I was surprised that marble wasn't a problem. Do most tile cutters work on marble?
Some do, some don't. Thanks for the watch and comment!👊
Have you tested out the new 24" masteforce tile cutter from menards??? Wondering what your opinion is if itll be a decent cutter for someone starting out i been in trade for 2 years and looking to see whats a decent cutter for my 1st
How much pressure does it need when scoring for a very straight cut?
It wouldn’t cut the sheeted tile because the bridge on the breaker is to wide. The tile has to be at least 3 inches wide. I use this same breaker for stained glass. Works great.
Thanks so much for this video!

Yes sir, happy the video helped 👊

Would this work on vinyl planking?
No. That is not vitreous and won't snap, needs to be cut with a saw.
4:10 I was going to laugh if the tile broke when he knocked it
Great job. And a great video. Thank you for the effort and time you took to record it and share it with the world. Greetings from Croatia.
Thank you very much!
Darn I was hoping you would demo a glass subway tile. I wonder if these carbide blades get dull after a while?
Yes, the cheap wheels will dull quickly.
At 5:23 I doubt it will ever work because you are not applying the pressure to the tile that is scored
Maybe you're right
For $20 I cant think of a reason not to order one. Really enjoy your channel.
Yup! Super cheap but works and thanks for watching! 👊

I agree, they are good for short times. I don't think they will hold up after long years of use though.
Definatly not. Pretty flimsy but it worked for what I got it for
I’m not sure if someone asked this already, but will it cut glass mosaic/glass tile?
yes it will!
it's still worth the work of light and thin tile installation.
Great content! Keep up the great videos!
Thanks buddy! Happy you enjoy! 👊
Tails custar praise bataye
Very helpful video!
how much
You didn't check it for accuracy. Will it follow a line ? My slightly larger version won't.... too much play in the cutting head pivot bolt.
Yes. As long as you have it straight. For a break it’s perfect every time. Just don’t run the score over twice.
And where does slate tile fall into the hardness of the other material you used. I’ve never remodeled anything in my life, and of all the tile to choose as a backsplash I chose slate Mosaic. slate tile has a lot of texture, you may need a wet tile saw for this. Try Lowes Kobalt tabletop tile saw.
I reckon if you scored it twice it may have snapped the mosaics and porcelain
But never know..it’s a good little cutter I do use my small little sigma for any job that the tile will fit and is it’s a great cutter have it years but a it’s lot dearer than 20$

How thick is the porcelain plank im trying to cut my porcelain floor tiles just not sure what the thickness just guessing it's maybe half an inch
this is 3/8 inch thick, usually the norm..
@@LandbergTileTV so the porcelain one you couldn't cut was probably thicker thanks so much
Can't you score it several times for the thicker one?
I tried that, it didn't work..
No sir
Glad he said you don't need a perfect cut cause I almost ruined a laminated tile with a Anvil brand 21$ tile cutter .
Man thats awfully cheap for a pretty decent cutter. It beats dragging your wet saw around for a small job. In the old days thats all we used unless you had really thick tile. Of course it was more expensive cutter and you could only buy them at a real tile shop. Thanks for the video.
Yes it definitely beats dragging a full size saw around! and it works pretty good! Thanks for watching friend 👊
It is worth noting that if you want to install 12" on the diagonal you will need a minimum 17" tile cutter so be aware of Pythagoras and diagonals!!!
Just bought one. $21.73 with tax. One day free delivery as well, insane.
Results?
Does this cut glass bottles?
I don't beleive it would.
what about glass tile?
yes, it cuts glass tile
thanks, appreciate ya

Yes, I believe you can get a cutter that will cut a 16" tile at Home Depot via QEP brand.
If you need to cut diagonals on 16x16 tiles the diagonal is almost 23"

Thin tiles ok and no power with no sloppy mess
okay
what about a half inch off a ceramic edge????
Yes, I think it will cut 1/2 inch of ceramic
once again, how much did you pay for it... its no longer under $20
I paid 20 and some change! Is the price up already!?
its at 20.99 but you said under 20.
apex .99 OMG

Only cut tils or no can cut marbil
After scoring 1/2 inch you did not simply use a rubber mallet over a wire or dowel.
Failed to mention uneven cut at beginning of tile.
1 job throw away
Good🤩🤗
What about glass tile
I think you needed to puta small piece of wood
weak bad and how small it should be stronger
It will not cut rough tile, have to use a wet saw
Can I have that for free please 🙏
Not a good machine
