This is a very good review. For those wondering why it isn't recording to the SD card, it's because your card isn't fast enough. This drone has a 4k camera on it. To record at full video in 4k, you need a card faster than a class-10. You need something called "UHS-3". On an SD card, this shows as a number 3 inside a U. If your card isn't a UHS-3, it likely will not handle the bitrate of the camera on this drone.

I got mine last week and although it’s my first drone it’s brilliant for the price. Great fun. Never thought of using a tablet along side as the only downside was my phone kept slipping out of the control holder but a great buy for a budget drone 👍
Just got mines from Banggood yesterday. It’s pretty sleek and flys nice. Just got my email from Amazon for the 511s and it will be here today. Waiting for the e58 in a few days as well. Want to give 1 to my son and 1 for back up. Going to be a fun spring and summer during quarantine.
@@jjnewton2429 I have an E58 and an E520S. The biggest shortfall with the E58 is the lack of GPS. But it is rather good in the wind, if you're not a beginner flyer (you'll find it tricky without a GPS, if you're a beginner). What I can vouch for, though, is the toughness of these little drones. I was showing off in speed-3 (highest pitch) doing high-speed passes and the wind picked up with heavy gusts. The remote started beeping like crazy, and I had no idea what this meant (this doesn't seem to be documented anywhere). It's an "overspeed" warning for the rotors, apparently. You get about 2 seconds to back off on the throttle (which I didn't do, because I had no idea what was happening) so it did a swan-dive at about 30mph, rolled for at least 10-15 feet, then slammed into a pole (of course - the only thing to hit within about 100 feet, and I hit it...I also slammed my E520S into the ladder of a salt water pool and the drone went for a swim, also with NO damage to the E520S, in salt water, but I digress). Too bad I wasn't recording, because that would have been an epic crash. Regardless, I was stunned to get it back to the bench and take it apart to find the ONLY thing broken on the E58 was the single motor that burned out because of the overspeed. It didn't even damage a blade. This drone has a repair "kit" available for it for about $20, which includes 4 motors (2 clockwise and 2 counter-clockwise), 4 gears, and 4 sets of blades. Swapped the dead motor, and it's back in the air...and now I have spare parts in case I smash it again (which I almost certainly will).
Great review! The only issue is the return to home feature needs to be calibrated better when you take off. After take off you need to ascend to 3 meters above your take off spot to return to the same spot. Since you took off before you got to 10 meters your return to home was off a bit. If you do the same test and take off and ascend to 10 meters (33ft) after take off you will get better result in the return to home.

Answered my own question today. Set up the E520S with ZERO USE OF A PHONE. Set up the GPS, was able to use the Return To Home function and it worked Great. Also was able to use the video button on the controller to start the Video Recorder on the Drone. And VERY STEADY FLIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :)
Picture and video works with an sd cart on your drone you need to put it into it and btw if I am right you cant use the phone picture button and the remote control picture button on the same moment if I am right you can only use one way at the time

Turn on the controller, turn on the drone. Open your wifi from the settings menu on your phone, you will see a connection that will have 1080p in the description, it should connect automatically. What phone are you using with it?
A great video. I have a problem does not let me see what the drone is seeing on the application screen. I get a default wallpaper. Do you know what I fear I will be able to see? Thanks a lot
I bought it because i had a unused gopro. Took the gopro apart and built it into this drone. Now i got PROF footage on a budgget. Still cheaper then a dji mavic mini haha

I bought one of these, but I bought the 5g version without thinking about it. My phone doesn't support 5g connectivity. Is it necessary for your phone to support 5g to get the GPS features? Because everything is working, except for the GPS. Or is it a possibility that its with the fact that my country (not sure) isn't up to date concerning 5g satellites

For some reason, it still does not show the battery level. Not a problem since it has low voltage return to home :) Paragliding Rocks!!

Hi, I just purchased this quad. Fairly satisfied overall. Any word on how to get the DVR to record to an SD card?
For me, it works sometimes and it doesn't at other times.
It should be a class 10 sd card formatted with FAT32.

Had this same issue...make sure you download the correct app....its the GPS one, not the FPV one.

your phone has nothing to do with gps. the 5g refers to 5g wifi and not cellular service as well.

the pro version is motorized the E520 and E520S are manual movements. The pro version doesn't have a SD card.
