Watch the entire video; but the crux of the 'removal' starts around 1:40 which involves removing the 'interior' housing which is slow (watch how he slowly pries it out). Once you get the 'interior' housing out the process is simple. Thanks Leonard!

For reference...you only need 1 small screwdriver. I was trying 2 at the same time trying to mimic this tool I found on Amazon....before I realized the tab was on the plastic piece and not the metal. The parts I bought off Amazon...search for Dorman 57000 Chrome Replacement Cigarette Lighter Plug Retainer.
