That's the way to explain it! I wasted a lot of time on another video which was crap. You video took me all of 30 seconds and it was out! Appreciate the posting!
I really appreciate your video. My lighter took some more pressure than I thought originally but it came out using your exact procedure. Getting ready to use that port for a HDMI input for a new head unit I am installing in my 2003 Suburban.
This is the only video on this subject so I used it. Works for some but not for me. 13 dollars amazon gets you the proper tool for removing it. Saves you breaking the retaining ring ears like I did using the push and turn method which costs an extra 10 more bucks. to replace. 13 bucks job done easy. 25 bucks and waiting for more parts if it breaks. Sorry Axle I have used lots of your videos and they're great but this one is a 50 / 50 man
99-02 is very different unfortunately. can’t find a single video on how to do it. got my dash half apart and still can’t access the cigarette lighters.
I know this video is a bit old but, if I want the cigarette lighter to be a power outlet socket, do I just swap out the socket for the power outlet socket? I also have a 2003 Yukon XL and these have messed up over the years asking with the rear one that’s in between the cup holders in the passenger center console. Thanks in advance
@@mayken6661 Pretty much by the numbers. The only hiccup was removing the oem cigarette lighter port. I was unable to compress the tabs to remove it without damage. Might be because it was old and stiff. Broke said tabs off and it came right out. Installed the new USB/USB C port. Simple and much more functional. Never smoked so the oem port served no purpose.
@@jimsjacob how was the wire connection? The USB port on Amazon has a simple +/- plug for direct battery connection. I just like to know if I have to do wiring adapter
@@We4winds Just like you said, pretty basic. The +/- writes are there. How you connect is decided by what the adapter presents. If I recall, I crimped on female spade connectors. Hope that helps. I get far more use out of this adapter then the cigarette port.
I have an 05 tahoe My wire actually fried my cigarette lighter and charger so what do I need to purchase if you can send me the link please that would be helpful
Read this if you have a Yukon ! Great video appreciate it but please keep in mind that most people watching your video have their head under their dashboard waiting on that seven seconds that they needed.. at first the screwdriver popping it off I thought there was no effing way but I'll be damned I used a knife instead and it worked perfect and lo and behold the f****** things weren't m************ plugged in God damn it I've owned this vehicle for 4 years...ddduuuuhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Fml... 12 second free fix..I'm stooòopid.. literally been walking back to the hatch and using the back one this whole f****** time
Is that a stock placement for your dvd/cd player? I want to put my aftermarket radio in that same spot when i swap out my jump seat. If theres anything that needs to be change could you help me out with pictures or websites you used?
Greetings from Jackson, GA. Your video is very informative but? I clicked the link for the 12V power outlet and it took me to Amazon......double checked the part number / part fitment and it says: DOES NOT FIT MY 2003 CHEVY TAHOE. Checked several other places (the GM part number is 25774623) and they say the same thing......does not fit my 2003 Chevy Tahoe. After some more surfing? I found an AC Delco part number (25776667) and it says: fits your 2003 Chevy Tahoe. To say the least I'm a bit confused and want to order the right part. I do want the 12V power outlet socket/receptacle and not the cigarette lighter. Any help that you can give me on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
@@AxlesGarage I didn't have a chance to call my local dealer today and ask them why the confusion.......If and when I get clarity on this? I'll reply again. Thanks!

Have a 2005 Tahoe. Your info helped a lot. Same procedure worked on the cargo area power outlet which is what I needed to fix.
Glad to help

Thanks for sharing, I haven't broken a tab off yet, but I'm sure it's coming. Wasn't that happy with the video, but I had many requesting it.
That you so much, your video was really helpful...I thought there was only one fuse. (15 amp).
Glad it helped

Thank you very much. I was afraid I would need to take the dash apart to get to that outlet.

How did you install CD player
Its a DVD Player, just cut the panel and mounted like a regular radio. Easy Peezy
Why did it take you so long to just show me the little 2-second thing that I needed to see

Hey I'm billy and I have a dvd player just like that. and I'd like to know how to put it In my 03 tahoe.
I cut the panel and mounted it to the trim piece. As far as wiring directions, try to find an install manual on line from the manufacturer.
How do you change it in a 1999 Tahoe? Mine is not that easy.
Different dash layout?
Is that a stock placement for your dvd/cd player? I want to put my aftermarket radio in that same spot when i swap out my jump seat. If theres anything that needs to be change could you help me out with pictures or websites you used?
No that's an aftermarket DVD player. Its normally a small storage cubby in that location. They sell kits to install a radio in the factory location.
@@AxlesGarage where can I purchase the kit?
Double Din Kit for my era Suburban/Tahoe here: amzn.to/2InNlHq
I have a 2004 chevy silverado 2500 hd, mine isnt like this at all. There is no way to pop it out.
It should be similar
Please change your title. This does not work on any truck before 2003.
The concept is the same, if you can't figure that out, I'm sure you can find a more specific video.
CD player
DVD?

I believe they will both work. The ones in the links are the ones I purchased for my 2003
