Thank you for the up close and personal r&r. Although I've been wrenching since '84, you still taught me something...to clean & lube the caliper pins. 👍🏻
Great tutorial. Changed my brake pads last night. Just a heads up that 17mm bolt was a tuff mf bent my ratchet’s neck so I stopped and reset. Tried again and snapped the cube part in my socket. I don’t have one of those right angle drills. I got a I think 7/16th wrench and had to put another wrench on the end of it to get enough torque to get that damn bolt to budge.
Get a 10” C clamp. Make sure you have everything first. I remember when I taught my son first how to change brakes. 8 years ago. Boy can’t put the wrench down. Haha

Is there not an issue with damaging the ABS system? Or should you still open the bleeder valve?
Spot on Team TRQ! Thank you for this instructional video. Sincerely thankful
Is it always a must to also change your rotors when changing the brake pads? I ask because the rotors in this video looked fine.

We're the best place to buy brakes
This is awesome
What if you don't have a caliper compressing tool?
You could use a c-clamp with a flat plate to make sure you evenly apply pressure to the caliper.

@@jacobfeiner1767 the old brake pads work great as that "flat plate".
What can I use if I don’t have a calliper compressing tool?
Use a G-Clamp
That’s 69lbs of torque?
The required torquing is 69 ft-lbs, not "69 lbs", as this would be a "linear force", not a "rotational torque".
