Double stuffed episode! So many exciting things happening. What an insightful perspective of the community coming together with the wind gusts causing mayhem all afternoon. That was cool.
It was a busy day! Only a few close calls when the bow of their boat came smashing down on top of us but thankfully we came away without too many bruises. So pleased we were able to help another cruiser out tho. Can’t imagine it would be fun sailing in circles for days waiting for the weather to calm down enough to collect that anchor again. Next time we will take a camera underwater too so we capture more of the fun and games.
Cheers! Yeah we really want to credit the creative people who bring so much to the adventure. We may not pick the same kind of music as many sailing channels but we go with what feels right, what makes us smile and if that can shine a light on other artists then even better. 😊
If the kids and nephew and nieces were a little bit younger, I'd purchase 5 of the colouring books. I don't think a 14-16 y/o would really appreciate a colouring. book. Awesome episode guys, you made me laugh.
I mean we can always rebrand it “mindfulness” if that helps win them over 😊 the detail in the images is suitable for all ages but I’m sure you need to maintain your “cool uncle” credentials 😜
@@rogergibb705 Haha oh don’t worry, as a former teacher I couldn’t possibly bring myself to release a book into both cultures with one spelling - there will be two covers with the correct spelling for each country 😂
Seems to be a great community - everyone helping everyone - need more of that in today's world. Hopefully, you can relax a while in the new location - and the waves are smaller on your way out. Donate for a Dream
Yeah, we have found that in the tuamotous and most of French Polynesia, that people are super kind and helpful. I think there is a real understanding that people need to support eachother and that is how we all grow. Here’s hoping the waves are kinder for the exit 😂
Quite literally betting the house on them these days. They are absolute beats! Fire up first time, sip fuel and give us so much control. So happy we went with straight forward, reliable, mechanical engines.
You’re totally right. Every time we try to film waves and explain the conditions, it just looks like small chop. Even when we were crossing the pacific and saw 20ft waves, they just looked like 5ft tall in camera.
The Nanni engines have been amazing. We haven’t filled up in months and, probably a mix of our excitement of having two working engines and the tight spaces to move around inside the atolls, we are still looking at half full tanks. As for solar, with the exception of the dive compressor, we are 100% reliant on solar for everything we power. Cooking, water maker, freezer, laptops…everything. Would love a bigger battery bank but we will need to work a bit harder to make that happen I think
Once I manage to get going, would love to spend years in ‘French’ Polynesia… given the stupid Brexit… how have you managed to stay so long? Sorry if I missed this being explained.
Yeah, Brexit has really made a mess of the cruising options for British people. In our case, we were able to apply for an extended Visa for FP. It gives you one year to explore but you can extend it each 12 months. The real limiting factor now is that we can’t keep indioko in the country for more than 2 years or she will be classed as an import and we will be charged taxes on her. So there is still that ticking clock. If you really do intend on sailing FP for a prolonged period of time, either buying a boat here or being prepared to pay the tax bill are really the only options. You could sail in and out for a bunch of the time but it gets tricky to maintain and the passages aren’t all that fun getting back here.
@@RedSeas fantastic to know they do allow for UK passport holders to get extensions… A year or so at a time would be more than enough… just didn’t want to be restricted to 90 days in such a massive area. And had wondered about heading North to avoid the storm season… which funnily enough Delos did. Kiribati is an option… had beed looking at places where you could leave and return. Do you happed to know, I can’t find it online, if the return rules to any of the French or Dutch overseas territories are the same as the Schengen Zone? A month or so ago you kindly said to email you if I wanted any help… very much appreciated. I just had nothing really I needed yet. Have pretty much decided a cat probably a similar age Leopard or Catana (I like the daggerboards) over a Moody or Oyster. It makes more sense for tropical life. Sadly I still can’t leave yet.
You have only screwed up if your in the life raft. Just a bit dodgy no probs. If you still had one engine nutters. HAHAHA You just charted that passage just give others your track.
Well, we may have made better life choices in the past but where’s the fun in playing it safe lol We absolutely want to share that track. Hopefully it doesn’t get overrun with visitors however as it was quite special to be so remote there too
@@robburrell5190 haha we should have clarified - we have a publisher in the UK and in the US so wherever you order from, you’ll get the correct spelling on the cover. Don’t worry, as a teacher I couldn’t send out the “wrong” one to everyone 😂😂

I get more envious every episode. Just wow.
So long as we are inspiring you love your own adventure, then we are doing what we set out to. 😊
Jeff Spicoli would've been proud of the way you rode those gnarly waves.
🤘 😂
Place looks incredible… This is what it’s all about!!!!
Absolutely! It is just amazing that we keep finding hidden away places like this that no one ever really goes to.
What a majestic place
the pass was sketchy (seems like they always are)
but well worth it
nobody in sight
It’s pretty amazing. Beautiful, untouched and peaceful. I guess the pass just puts people off and that is what keeps the atoll so undiscovered. 🤷♂️
Think I may have mentioned this before...but I so appreciate your music creds! 🎉😂❤

Great video and what a wonderful place, almost magical
Thanks. It is such a nice hide away. I gives the entrance puts most people off.
Go explore that island for us 👍🏼
We had some nice walks out to the breakers but I’m not sure how much we filmed actually. Will have to check thru the camera
Trimaran Spirit just left Raraka and said the same that it is a real jewel of an atoll
They are totally right. I kind of hope that it does get over run now that we have made a few episodes about it. 😊
Cool! Will one of your colouring book pages be a chart of the as-yet-uncharted pass? 🤷
Imagine in a few years, Senor Brady and Blue using said chart-cum-colouring-book-page to negotiate that pass safely on Delos. Dare to dream.
😜 that would be fun but I’m not sure we could survive the insurance claims if anyone were to use it.
Wisdom!
Great idea, good luck with the project. But is that how you spell "coloring" in Scotland? Even my spell checker has just popped up!

@@RedSeas I like your style. Do you have a Spanish version on the printing press?😂
I mean, if you can find enough people wanting one is Spanish, we would be more than happy to do a translated run. 😊

how are the Nannis doing?

13:18 I think people don’t understand the feeling of being out there for real. AND the camera makes it look way less than it is!

Animus into. 🥺
Forging the path where others rarely dare to go.
Ps- how economical are those Nannie’s engines? What about the solar, is it providing all your needs?

I actually seen some white houses…..😂
One or two on the shoreline I think.
