Looking at how you answer everyone commenting with questions even 4 years after you posted the video I decided to subscribe as my way of saying thanks for being a true legend. I just bought a mk4 a few weeks ago and I suspect I will need this fix at some point. Well done mate.
Just want to update everyone my 2013 mk4 mondeo titanium x is still running fine and the start stop still works fine 🙂 I'm glad this video helped more people as I'm sure a ford main dealer would be well expensive for something so simple thankyou for all your kind comments
@Paul Clifford no mate I got an expensive charger charged the battery overnight to see if that would cure it but it didn't so I did some research learned about state of charge tested the voltage and cold cranking amps required etc when the start stop still didn't work I looked into reasons why and thanks to a German guy who worked on ford's in a forum I learnt this method
I've had a new battery for 12 months and since installing the start / stop hasn't been working. With car mechanics not being able to diagnose why. After carrying out the instructions in this video to reset the BMS, the start stop / start has started to work. Thank you for posting 💯
Woooow!!!!!! Thank you so much. My Mondeo 2013 have a Low Battery warning after 10 seconds after I shut down the engine. The radio also was shutting down after few seconds. I forgot to mention, the battery was replace six months ago with a brand new one. When I saw the video I was thinking is a joke, but NO!!! It's really works. I fallow the instructions in the video and BOOM! Done, my stereo is on for the last 10 minutes and there's no Low Battery warning. Thanks, hopefully I will buy you a drink sometime.
My 2010 Galaxy had the battery low warning when the radio was on when parked up. It has pretty much the same dash dials and light buttons so I thought it was worth a go. This worked a treat. It takes no time at all and is so simple to do. Thanks for posting the video
Thanks mate , this fixed my reverse sensor fault. After jump starting my car, the reverse sensor showed fault so I tried this and IT SOLVED IT! Thanks again mate.

Yep, worked for me too! After 2 years of no stop/start and low battery warnings this saved me a new battery and expensive diagnostic session. Strangely when I had the car serviced at a Ford dealer earlier this week and mentioned the stop start issue, they were none the wiser about this fix, and probably wanted me to spend loads on new modules etc? So thanks for posting this.
Great that worked for me. A picture is worth a thousand words. I was pressing the Cauthion button too many times before I saw your video. Many thanks as the Battery Sencor had been allwoing the alternator to produce 15v! Now its down to 13.
Also the power steering fluid bottle location on a mk4 mondeo is under the uk drivers side headlight you need to remove the headlight unit out to gain access 😉
Is there a way to turn the start/ stop system off/on? Or is it always enabled? My 2014 mondeo titanium x doesnt have the seperate @ button but the bms reset you show did complete fine.
have same problem with S Max 2010 TDCI...for over a month I went to few mechanics and everyone tells me that everything is ok, but my radio turns off after just 30s...I removed radio from car and just turn ignition on, same message on dashboard, low battery....I bought new battery 2 month ago and at the and it supposed that I should reset BMS sensor when installed new battery....thank you very much, share this video on some forum..
Hello mate! The airbag light in my 2011 Mondeo comes on for 2-3 minutes every time I start the car. I think it might have happened after the car went over a pothole. Do you think following the instructions in the video you suggested will fix this issue? Thanks!
@rubensirghie8266 I would recommend an odb2 scanner and check for a code when the light is on a faulty airbag can be deadly if its faulty never take chances with airbag faults as they can fail I would recommend you get that checked as soon as possible

Update: I fixed it. It was a faulty wire connection under the seat. After I moved the cables a little, the light went off. ❗️IMPORTANT: You were right. You have to make sure that the airbag system is functioning properly, because it can be very dangerous to drive without airbags. So always check if the cables are connected properly❗️❗️
Nice video great help. Also how docyou get the temp to show up next the the side of the pic of the car. Instead of having to go into the settings to see it?
Sorry for the late reply but it's how I got it my menus don't change that but it's strange you have to go into the menus to see the temp of your car I would be concerned on long journeys as its easy to cook the engine if it overheats like the ecoboost I would definitely keep an eye out on the water and oil regularly
@@jasonwillis4194. I bought one of those monitors that tell you your speed and other information. It shows my temp on that. I think it's because mine is the facelift version or something like that. For some stupid reason they removed the temp and hid it in a menu. Geniuses 😂.
Update please be aware I'm now at almost 142k and the dual mass flywheel is starting to make clacking noises looking into the issue its common on the mk4 mondeo they aren't cheap make sure you save some cash saved as its the 140k mileage mark it usually goes. On idle I can hear the noise from the gearbox area and if I dip the clutch it goes my first thought was pressure plate but my clutch is fine no slipping gears etc be prepared for this it will happen
Just got a mk5 2.0 tdci mondeo now to reset the bms on that ignition on don't start it flash high beam 5 times then press the brake pedal 3 times the battery light will flash 3 times like on my video of the mk4 then it's reset
There’s another option If you don’t have rear fog lights. Pull and release high beams lights 5 times plus press and release brake pedal 3 time with in 10 seconds. Before you do it must charge battery so the BMS gets the most accurate information. Works on a 2016 Ford C-Max energi. It was going “save battery mode” and not starting at least you jump it. Thanks. Does this reset just the stop start feature. Iv just replaced my faulty parking sensor and its still faulting. I'm not sure if I need to reset them and was ordering if this would do the trick.

Hi mate please ensure all the lights work and do it at the same speed on the video apart from that check the voltage on the battery if its too low the start stop won't work that's the state of charge issue I was having so I changed my battery with a new one then doing this method worked as just swapping the battery won't cure it as the battery sensor needs to be reset
Will this fix a reverse sensor issue? Bought a mondeo today and just got home to find when reversing the sensors are not kicking in, just a loud beep for a few seconds and stops Cheers👍
Don't think so sorry usually parking sensors are best replaced but it might be one sensor causing the whole issue try checking each one with another's help by walking around the car to see if there's any change in the tone if that don't work check underneath for a wire break as most debris hit underneath the rear as you drive I wish you luck they're not to difficult to change once you find the faulty one
In the rear boot fuse box uk passenger side fabric pouch pops outs inside the plastic fuse boxes is fuse fb1 5amp fuse should be the parking aid control unit fuse check that also incase that fuse has blown on the hatch back its the second box down worth a try also

Doesn't work for me in a Mondeo mk4 2010. I follow the procedure but battery doesn't blink. Maybe it's because I have replaced the original headunit with an Android one?
Not sure about that mate as I've only the Sony unit in but I would retry it doing it different speeds I did it quickly before and the battery icon didn't flash so I did it slower it worked
It's a uk titanium x 2013 1.6 but I've seen a few with less on I owned the 2008 2.0 tdci before and wanted the the titanium x back then I'm glad I did but the econetic is under powerd so I do miss the 2.0 but its easy to work on and parts are easy to get and the size of the boot is great the settings on the dash are basic the software it's running is the oem it came with I've seen videos on you tube of companies that modify them to different colour schemes etc
Sorry but with that amount of issue's I would take it to a garage that can check for electronic faults bad earth's relays etc the fuse box can fail electrical faults are the a nightmare and a trained mechanic must look at it I wish you luck finding the cause

Not seen a titanium x without that button is there not anything in the dash menus at all ?
This fixed a couple of things, stop/start, the low battery msg and bluetooth worked again.
Tried this on my 2010 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Titanium and battery light did not flash 3 times, tried it a few times and nothing.

What if your car doesn't have the fog lights?
Unless your outside the EU, all cars have rear fog lights, that's what he's pressing
