Matt, I can relate from personal experiences after a hurricane here in Louisiana. I have an emergency response background so I'm kinda thego getter. Well the younger brothers drove to pick up supplies and donated things from a warehouse of brother who owned a business. Once they called everyone on the publisher list and assembled boxes of "care packages" food, toiletries,cleaning items. I suggested that they could call the radio station and let them know we had perishables and where they could be picked up, or dropping them off for another group to distribute them. I waa pulled aside by some elders after that very question.
We recently had a tornado in our area. Groups of Menonites came through the neighborhood and for a week they cleaned the debris out of anyone’s yard and would not accept a penny. JW’s showed up on a Saturday in field service asking only the current JW’s and some faded ones if they needed any help. It had been 5 days since the storm and you have on field service clothes! They came to be nosey not to really help dressed like that.

You're spot on. They say, love never fails. It does with them if your fat or face don't fit. Unless you have family or friends you've known for 20 years or more or own a house, run a business and own a posh car, they just don't want to know nor have any thing to do with you. I noticed that with those biblical plays and images on their articles and on the platforms that no one was fat or black. They were all the same shape, size and colour. The women believed that they should stay at home while it was the man's place to go out to work.
What I find interesting in the the CO handbook, is the part about visiting ones who request a Shepherding call during his visit. It states that he can visit, but he CANNOT COUNT THE TIME!!.. UNBELIEVABLE!! If someone needs a shepherding call counting time should not be involved at all!! That's what his visit should be about, visiting those who are down and out! Excellent video!! I love the points you bring up, & how they're presented. They also push child abuse (sexual, physical/violent) under the rug to "save face". That is one particularly disgusting way that they put appearances far before morals, principles, & beliefs. I think healing and helping those victims in any way should come first!! Also, if they really want to improve their image, they'll change their policies & get more tough on how they handle these cases, AND protecting the victim from the moment an incident is reported. I heard that in those relief situations when they rebuild a home and fill with furniture, in actuality, the owner signs the insurance check over to WT. FREE LABOR results in a profit turnover for the Society.
Whether theres insurance cover or not, they ll help. The relief help is provided unconditionally .. You would consider it foolish if the insurance money was refused l think .

I have a neighbor who has been attending a kingdom hall for some time, I consider this none of my business, but I recently had a break of sorts w him when he told me that "black people are all criminals and they're all into drugs." I know better than this, but I would be really interested to hear your feelings about racism within the organization beyond their image consciousness. I have no idea what they teach about race, and I imagine this might be maybe emotional for you, or at least tedious to be teaching white people about it, but I'm genuinely curious about both your experience and your opinion about JW teaching. They put on the act they are not racist but in reality they are very much so. Look at all the white guys on the GB. I grew up in that cult and saw a lot of it first hand.

My cousin was a JW. She was in a terrible car accident in which the man who hit her with a semi-truck died. Long story short, when she got out of the hospital, they didn't even offer her a loaf of bread. She was a faithful servant to that organization. Meetings, conventions and door to door. She did it all with no help in return.
There is so many people in the organization that are living a double life and they put on this image as being 100% when they're really 50% and when you catch them and they are lie they become very defensive also there are people right now that will tell you that day believe everything that they say and they believe that Jehovah Witness are the true religion because of the way their act and they always use the scripture in the Bible about preaching from nation and nation of something like that right now they're walking around saying the preaching work is done that everyone knows about Jehovah and the end is near so right now with all the stuff going on with Walmart and everything they believe that the end is near with all these mass shooting they saying Satan and Jehovah it's about to come to an end with Satan every time something happened the end is near LOL I'm just writing this because I am getting sick of hearing it I heard it since I was 9 years old here I am 63 and still hearing the same thing over and over the end is near so how can they say you don't know the time or the day or whenever the end is near but yet they're walking around saying the end is near like as if they know the Day and The Time I don't get it and I find a lot of them don't even know their Bible and whenever I talk to one of them they go and the Watchtower says I never heard none of them say in the Bible says majority of them say well in the Watchtower I have an article Pathfinders just weird I stay clear I care less if no one talks to me anymore I was never a Jehovah Witness but I was a a person that was studying with them and I just got tired of it I found it very hypocritical

I noticed many reenactments at my assemblies while I was still in. They basically pull a Milli Vanilli for what they think will make them look good...

I'm a former follower but never baptized, started with my mother and older brothers when I was 4 or 5 years old around 1968 and faded out around 1978-80. I still have family that are full fledged members and I want to ask some of them have they ever questioned their own beliefs but I'm afraid of them possibly alienating themselves away from me due to the shunning act and labeling me as an apostate, my question is how do I bring up the subject of their loyalty to the organization so as to not make them feel like they're being attacked and become so defensive? I haven't attended in a lot of years but I still kind of believed it was the "Truth" until a few weeks ago when I literally stumbled on to all of these you-tube videos that just absolutely totally blew my whole mind almost to the point of tears when I realized what was actually taking place within the organization. So devastating and almost unbelievable if I hadn't seen it for myself is the information and the facts that have been revealed to me lately, I'm totally flabbergasted by it.
We had a CO that gave multiple talks basically equating being thin to being approved by God. Then all of the elders and servants started Slim for Life - only temporarily losing the weight. Crazy.
Im only a few minutes in and agree about the representations in the mags and on the broadcast. However, here in the UK, you'll often see fat people on the stage because they are the majority in some areas, and there is an overall shortage of brothers, so being picky about weight will likely leave a shortfall of brothers to present parts. I didn’t believe in the organization one bit. I was there because I thought that God wanted me there but after 20 yrs of reading and meditation on God’s word. I got to see the organization from the inside and the outside.
i think the discouragement of beards and different kinds of hiarstyles is another example. I remember growing up my mother wouldn't let me get a fade or even get a part in my hair because they were "worldy fades"

I think the real hypocrisy with women is that they water down the verse you quoted: women should be silent. That rules out comments and platform assignments altogether. Silent means silent. But that would probably be too hard a pill to swallow for outsiders and inside people. The other one is physical discipline of children. The Bible states clearly that giving your child the rod is good and he doesn't die if you beat him. The org used to think this as well in the 70s still and openly promoted physical beating of kids. However, it has been silently dropped and now they twist the Bible to say that it actually refers to counselling your kids in general.

My congregation was majority black brothers and they were assigned to cover the drama at the convention.. naturally the brothers did a sterling job with emphatic gestures flying left right and centre with ease, as one would imagine. In the 70s and 80s , our assigned congregation territory for the preaching work included many black families and at yknes would ask, " why are there no black brothers and sisters etc in the artwork.. Pleased to say , that is no longer a valid complaint , as often various nationalities are depicted...not merely caucasian
This is what I believe. So,God wants us to draw close to him by reading and meditation. We can read the example of Joshua. Joshua had the responsibility to lead the people to the promise land. This was the same example Jesus showed.
Like Joshua an Jesus we too can follow their example. Their examples showed that they were leading people to God and that is what we should have in our mind. I don’t think we need religion or a group of men demanding of us to give money or obedience to them because that is not how God operates. Yes, God demands obedience to him not to men.

Actually, slavery IS accepted by the majority of people today. we just call it by its modern name: EMPLOYMENT. The parts most distasteful about slavery are the same parts most distasteful about employment: abusive mistreatment of the slave/employee by the master/employer as well as lack of consideration and respect for a person's feelings, welfare and dignity. That is why the godly principles about the master/slave relationship work just as well in today's employer/employee work environment.
Wow, what a way to minimize slavery. A salary, healthcare, and pension plan seems a big difference. You can actually quit a shitty job, and look for another. You can also sue your employers here in America for abusive mistreatment. Your employer however is not responsible for your feelings, welfare or dignity, you are. There was a sister who was homeless in my old congregation and they would not even help! She had mental health issues and a heart condition. She was only getting Social Security and was living in a hotel. Social Security all of a sudden stops her benefit.. She went to the brothers and you know what they did? Sent her to the Salvation Army! She was only allowed to stay in the Salvation Army for a week. She pleaded again with the brothers to help, even sleeping in her car in the kingdom Hall parking lot! They told her she couldn't stay there even though it was safer for her to be there because the other friends would see her! This woman ended up having to spend the night on a park bench!! How is that Christian love??!!
Matt my brother I have observed over the years how Jehovah's Witnesses in publications have portrayed everything biblical as being white. White Jesus, no black angels, white Adam and Eve white Moses, white Peter and Paul, white David and Solomon, and until recently only white Governing body members. They claim that no one knows what skin colour these people were but yet they chose white in all of their books and magazines as a norm without apology while disregarding the evidence in the bible concerning people of color. Was there not a bible character in bible times who was black? Not as far as they are concerned.They pay little respect to the greater percentage of their followers who are mainly people of colour. What about the "Songs of Solomon " where the character was mentioning and dealing with their blackness and love for a person of color? Was it a mistake that this absurdity was being discussed in scripture knowing that everyone back then were mainly white? Why will a white man be trying to woo a black woman for her love so passionately? When Job told us the color of his skin at Job 30 :30. in many many translations the new world translation twisted the wording of this text for this fact not to be known. However think about this. When Moses was told by Jehovah to put his hands in his garment and his skin turned white was his skin white before it was turned white? Is Jehovah a God known for making silly jokes? The Governing body cover up such facts to keep their image white. Also they maintain Jesus image and spiritual Israel basically being white. Was Paul not mistaken for an Egyptian in the book of Acts ? Egypt is in Africa where people of colour always lived back then. Remember Jesus parents were sent by Jehovah to Egypt " a black community "to hide Watchtower's white baby from Herod who wanted to kill all 2 year old children? Would Jehovah not be very dumb for doing such a foolish thing? Jesus was therefore also a person of color. JWS do not want to be associated with any " black image "even if the scriptures prove otherwise.
So " the great news" is that we will live forever? How am i to cherish and enjoy ANYTHING if i live forever? How am i to learn and grow from pain, sorrow and obstacles? Is their any Life without any challenge? Is their any triumph without difficulties? What would i possibly do in that boring place? Attending Jehovah meetings? Eating? Fake smiling to every brother and sister? For ever and EVER ? For EVER, EVER ? DAYUMN. That is a PRISON. i dont want that type of trap. I want to live my Life with spice and freedom. I'd be interested in hearing your comments on the matter of elders discussions regarding members of the congregation . Was there a split between them of the more loving and empathetic ones and those that took a harsher line as elders ? Reason lm interested being , the daniel dream image involved the iron and the clay.. Just speculating that perhaps ironlike features would be the harsher approach as compared to the clay or softer one.. Jesus did say that "the love of the greater number would cool off../ grow cold ", so as my experience along with anecdotal evidence causes me to wonder if that is a possible fulfillment of that prophecy. Knowing that accounts abound of elders meetings that extend long hours into the night , this phenomena might well explain the inability of the two types of material, to mix. How about wearing ties and suits in areas where nobody does. I have seen this a million times. I've been such person myself. It's +40 degrees C, you are sweating like a pig, it's visible that the only thing you want if a freaking shower and ice tea, but hey! Witnesses have to be dressed in "official clothing". Does not matter that it actually makes the preacher MORE ridiculous than he already is. Does not matter everyone involved know how weird this looks. What does matter is brand image. I have a neighbor who has been attending a kingdom hall for some time, I consider this none of my business, but I recently had a break of sorts w him when he told me that "black people are all criminals and they're all into drugs." I know better than this, but I would be really interested to hear your feelings about racism within the organization beyond their image consciousness. I have no idea what they teach about race, and I imagine this might be maybe emotional for you, or at least tedious to be teaching white people about it, but I'm genuinely curious about both your experience and your opinion about JW teaching. They put on the act they are not racist but in reality they are very much so. Look at all the white guys on the GB. I grew up in that cult and saw a lot of it first hand.

My cousin was a JW. She was in a terrible car accident in which the man who hit her with a semi-truck died. Long story short, when she got out of the hospital, they didn't even offer her a loaf of bread. She was a faithful servant to that organization. Meetings, conventions and door to door. She did it all with no help in return.
I was always told that the reason that they don't help other Charities is because the money doesn't go to the people that need it

I'm a former follower but never baptized, started with my mother and older brothers when I was 4 or 5 years old around 1968 and faded out around 1978-80. I still have family that are full fledged members and I want to ask some of them have they ever questioned their own beliefs but I'm afraid of them possibly alienating themselves away from me due to the shunning act and labeling me as an apostate, my question is how do I bring up the subject of their loyalty to the organization so as to not make them feel like they're being attacked and become so defensive? I haven't attended in a lot of years but I still kind of believed it was the "Truth" until a few weeks ago when I literally stumbled on to all of these you-tube videos that just absolutely totally blew my whole mind almost to the point of tears when I realized what was actually taking place within the organization. So devastating and almost unbelievable if I hadn't seen it for myself is the information and the facts that have been revealed to me lately, I'm totally flabbergasted by it.
We had a CO that gave multiple talks basically equating being thin to being approved by God. Then all of the elders and servants started Slim for Life - only temporarily losing the weight. Crazy.
Im only a few minutes in and agree about the representations in the mags and on the broadcast. However, here in the UK, you'll often see fat people on the stage because they are the majority in some areas, and there is an overall shortage of brothers, so being picky about weight will likely leave a shortfall of brothers to present parts. And come to think of it, the gb themselves have a number of fat members .

I didn’t believe in the organization one bit. I was there because I thought that God wanted me there but after 20 yrs of reading and meditation on God’s word. I got to see the organization from the inside and the outside.
i think the discouragement of beards and different kinds of hiarstyles is another example. I remember growing up my mother wouldn't let me get a fade or even get a part in my hair because they were "worldy fades"

I think the real hypocrisy with women is that they water down the verse you quoted: women should be silent. That rules out comments and platform assignments altogether. Silent means silent. But that would probably be too hard a pill to swallow for outsiders and inside people.
The other one is physical discipline of children. The Bible states clearly that giving your child the rod is good and he doesn't die if you beat him. The org used to think this as well in the 70s still and openly promoted physical beating of kids. However, it has been silently dropped and now they twist the Bible to say that it actually refers to counselling your kids in general.

My congregation was majority black brothers and they were assigned to cover the drama at the convention.. naturally the brothers did a sterling job with emphatic gestures flying left right and centre with ease, as one would imagine.
In the 70s and 80s , our assigned congregation territory for the preaching work included many black families and at yknes would ask, " why are there no black brothers and sisters etc in the artwork..
Pleased to say , that is no longer a valid complaint , as often various nationalities are depicted...not merely caucasian

This is what I believe. So,God wants us to draw close to him by reading and meditation. We can read the example of Joshua. Joshua had the responsibility to lead the people to the promise land. This was the same example Jesus showed.
Like Joshua an Jesus we too can follow their example. Their examples showed that they were leading people to God and that is what we should have in our mind. I don’t think we need religion or a group of men demanding of us to give money or obedience to them because that is not how God operates. Yes, God demands obedience to him not to men.

Actually, slavery IS accepted by the majority of people today. we just call it by its modern name: EMPLOYMENT. The parts most distasteful about slavery are the same parts most distasteful about employment: abusive mistreatment of the slave/employee by the master/employer as well as lack of consideration and respect for a person's feelings, welfare and dignity. That is why the godly principles about the master/slave relationship work just as well in today's employer/employee work environment.
Wow, what a way to minimize slavery. A salary, healthcare, and pension plan seems a big difference. You can actually quit a shitty job, and look for another. You can also sue your employers here in America for abusive mistreatment. Your employer however is not responsible for your feelings, welfare or dignity, you are. You are not forced to work, if living on the street is your thing. A slaves only choices was be a slave, be beaten, imprisoned, or die. Rather have a job.
But they even have a problem helping their own! They would rather send money to Brothers they would never hope to meet in this lifetime than the ones in their own congregation! There was a sister who was homeless in my old congregation and they would not even help! She had mental health issues and a heart condition. She was only getting Social Security and was living in a hotel. Social Security all of a sudden stops her benefit.. She went to the brothers and you know what they did? Sent her to the Salvation Army! She was only allowed to stay in the Salvation Army for a week. She pleaded again with the brothers to help, even sleeping in her car in the kingdom Hall parking lot! They told her she couldn't stay there even though it was safer for her to be there because the other friends would see her! This woman ended up having to spend the night on a park bench!! How is that Christian love??!!
Matt my brother I have observed over the years how Jehovah's Witnesses in publications have portrayed everything biblical as being white. White Jesus, no black angels, white Adam and Eve white Moses, white Peter and Paul, white David and Solomon, and until recently only white Governing body members. They claim that no one knows what skin colour these people were but yet they chose white in all of their books and magazines as a norm without apology while disregarding the evidence in the bible concerning people of color. Was there not a bible character in bible times who was black? Not as far as they are concerned.They pay little respect to the greater percentage of their followers who are mainly people of colour.
What about the "Songs of Solomon " where the character was mentioning and dealing with their blackness and love for a person of color? Was it a mistake that this absurdity was being discussed in scripture knowing that everyone back then were mainly white? Why will a white man be trying to woo a black woman for her love so passionately?
When Job told us the color of his skin at Job 30 :30. in many many translations the new world translation twisted the wording of this text for this fact not to be known. However think about this. When Moses was told by Jehovah to put his hands in his garment and his skin turned white was his skin white before it was turned white? Is Jehovah a God known for making silly jokes?
The Governing body cover up such facts to keep their image white. Also they maintain Jesus image and spiritual Israel basically being white.
Was Paul not mistaken for an Egyptian in the book of Acts ? Egypt is in Africa where people of colour always lived back then. Remember Jesus parents were sent by Jehovah to Egypt " a black community "to hide Watchtower's white baby from Herod who wanted to kill all 2 year old children? Would Jehovah not be very dumb for doing such a foolish thing? Jesus was therefore also a person of color. JWS do not want to be associated with any " black image "even if the scriptures prove otherwise.
So " the great news" is that we will live forever?

How about wearing ties and suits in areas where nobody does. I have seen this a million times. I've been such person myself. It's +40 degrees C, you are sweating like a pig, it's visible that the only thing you want if a freaking shower and ice tea, but hey! Witnesses have to be dressed in "official clothing". Does not matter that it actually makes the preacher MORE ridiculous than he already is. Does not matter everyone involved know how weird this looks. What does matter is brand image. God forbid someone won't be able to tell that you are a Witness from a 300 meter distance.
