DON’T MELT THE CHEESE! Such a great recipe but melting the cheese creates a disaster. Combine the shredded cheese with the dry ingredients, then pour the beaten eggs and mix. Wet your hands and they roll up perfectly, hardly any mess. Made these several times and they are Awesome!
I think it depends on the type of cheese. I live in Italy, I bought the “mozzarella for cooking”, when melted came out more oil than the one in the video.
Just made this! I followed The advice from another follower - I did Not melt the cheese first. I also love Flavor and garlic so I crushed garlic INTO The beaten eggs then added to the dry+cheese mixture. I also added a rosemary, garlic seasoning and added a few leaves Of Fresh basil along with the Italian seasoning in the bread. Did the same With the butter sauce. Crushed the garlic to get every ounce of garlic taste !! It was YUMMMMMOOO
This recipe is absolutely delicious! I made this tonight with my husband and we loved it! Our teens even agreed it tastes amazing! Highly recommend you try this whether you’re doing keto or not.
What a great recipe! My husband and I enjoyed it tonight with chicken and cesar salad. I only have one question. The ingredients list there's 2 oz of cream cheese that I should have added in, but didn't see it from the video and the instructions when to add it. I skip that one item. The bread still came out so good, yummy!!! I highly recommend it! To those who love's bread this is it. It's easy to make! no excuses. :)
I tried and it turned out to be AWESOME! Thank you so much!! I used an egg substitute though. It is called "The Neat Egg" ( neat - Plant-Based - Egg Mix (4.5 oz.) - Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Soy Free, Egg Substitute Mix ),
I just made this recipe 😋 and it's very delicious, my son said," let's see if it's an approval for me". And he said," wao this is actually better than garlic bread!! lol😆
Thank you for taking time to share your recipes, I've been subscribed for a couple of years now and this is my first time commenting. This recipe is a keeper, made it today and it was delish. Will definitely be making this again. One thing I noticed is that the recipe ask for cream cheese but doesn't instruct when to add it so after melting the cheese I added it. Yes, I will be trying more of your recipes.😊👍 Thanks again.
Hey Dr.Berg... thank you for this lovely recipe and all the videos you have for us. You are a life saver. Could you do us a favour and provide the metric versions in your recipes for us. Thanks heaps.. Keep them recipes coming. Cheers
Mine is in the oven now. I put the cream cheese in with the mozzarella to melt together. I hope that’s right because neither the video nor the written recipe address when to add it. My dough balls were less well formed than yours, and quite sticky. I hope they turn out ok. Thanks for the recipe. Yours looks great!
This is absolutely gorgeous, just made it, my mum was eating it and repeating "oh my god its so good" far too many time, it started to sound inappropriate 🙄😂😂😂 had to tell her to stop saying that.
1st thing I am looking for in any recipe are the MACROS! I was surprised to see you did not post them. After all that I have learnt from you on Keto & IF... i can't look at any recipe without those glasses on. I don't know if its worth even watching the cooking part, if I can't possibly try it in my meal plan. I hope you understand.
Hi, I've tried this a couple of times. It tasted good despite the fact that the mozarella cheese melted and had a lot of liquid. It also did not combine well with the flour mixture so it didn't look like yours. What did I do wrong? Did you also use Cream Cheese?
Oh my! That's killer! Hoping that can keep in the fridge for a few days and re-heat. I'd consider using avocado oil on the pan (or the butter, mentioned) instead of olive oil, because it will stand up to the heat better. May I recommend you calculate the macros on your recipes? We could do it, but then we'd all be doing it individually.
Good to see you again :) We should all be doing it individually as we all use different products!! I never ever EVER trust the calculations and even on the app it can have variations. For example, heavy whipping cream..if someone uses the back of the container, it will never have carbs regardless of quantity but we know that's wrong.. 0.3 carb per 1 tbsp adds up to a lot when its 1 cup. Then different companies have different moisture levels in mozzarella. As much as its nice, its not worth using inaccurate info to rely on it. Yes its more work but your health is worth it. 🙏✌
Oh I absolutely love you guys this is just what I need some recipes I miss my bread I don’t get none but I do have chickpea burritos and that is a dream my husband found I love it so much it become my bread oh my goodness I got to pick up some more yawls recipe God bless you he sent y’all to me🥰🥰🙏💕😁🦋
Is the resulting bread in the video upside down from how it was in the cast iron pan? After 23 minutes, mine was almost that brown on the bottom but not anywhere close on the top. I even tried turning it over and cooking it another 3 minutes, but it didn't make much difference.
Soooo yummy looking! I can't wait to try this! I have to wait for my next grocery budget though so I can buy more organic mozzarella 😅😅😅thank you BERG RECIPES! ❤️
This bread is amazing. Dense, yet moist. I melted the cream cheese with the mozzarella as recommended ib these comments. Once all the ingredients were mixed it was REALLY sticky, too sticky to mold, so I dumped it in my baking dish and sprinkled the parm/spices on top. Yummo!
PLEASE start giving your measurements in grams as well. I can't tell if the 2 1/2C Mozzarella is measured as shredded or melted. It is way easier to use grams for accuracy, I realize that's not common in the US, but you have a world wide audience. Thanks for your consideration.
It's shredded. Always measure raw ingredients not after it's cooked :) I've also found out stuff tastes and come out better when you just wing the recipe :D
Usually in written recipes, it indicates the state in which the ingredient is measured. For example, “2 1/2 cups shredded Mozza, melted” would mean measured shredded, then melted. But “2 1/2 cups melted mozza” would mean 2.5 full cups of melted cheese.
Do you have a liver recipe? I don't see any? I usually make it with fried onions and garlic and fried pork fat pieces. But I'd like to see other keto recipes.
Looks yummy but I wish there was nutrional information and how many carbs are in it. I could eat the whole thing but know I shouldnt but how do I know how much I can eat to fit into my daily portions if there are no carbs given?
we are watching all of your recipe videos but as someone who is starting out on keto, would these recipes be ok? we figured out the pizza video turns out to be about 10-11 carbs per slice not good for 20 carbs per day. how many carbs for this bread would be helpful. ty so much.
Ingredients: 2 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, melted 2 oz cream cheese 3 eggs 1 ½ cup almond flour 1 tsp baking powder ½ tsp garlic powder ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated 1 ½ tsp Italian seasoning For the Garlic Butter: ¼ cup butter 5 cloves of garlic ½ cup fresh parsley see link to blog with full recipe
As much as these keto breads look amazing, many people cannot consume dairy without becoming extremely ill. It would be very refreshing if you would post alternatives. Sorry for ranting, but this is a real source of frustration for me.

Tried this and it didn’t work 😞
I think it depends on the type of cheese. I live in Italy, I bought the “mozzarella for cooking”, when melted came out more oil than the one in the video.
Just pulled mine out of the oven, worked perfectly with hardly any mess.
Sounds easier than melting it. Thanks 🙏
Are you using partial skim mozzarella or whole milk?
Edit: wonder if it would work with mozzarella fresco?
Your wife has an awesome vibrant personality & I always enjoy seeing her with you in your videos.
Grocery List:
1 1/2 cup almond flour,
1 tsp baking powder,
3 eggs,
1/2 tsp garlic powder,
2 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese melted,
parmesan cheese
Italian seasoning
Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 400
