Jon Stewart should be a moderator on the Trump Biden debate. He would ask the most intelligent question and call bs when he hears it.
Love that idea. He could also do it wish some humor because those things get to uncomfortable.
That's exactly why they won't have him as the moderator haha.
If he called BS every time he heard it in a debate where Trump was involved, he would be doing most of the talking.

I agree! I loved Trevor Noah too and this is the best replacement for him I could've thought of. Although I wouldn't have minded seeing Jordan Klepper in that spot either. Stewart is a genius to watch dismantle the absurdities of current events

@@dochouse6911 You're going to LOVE the daily show even more now, I promise! After Jon Stewart left and Trevor took over, the Daily show didn't seem that funny anymore. It seemed more serious and a bit angry humor. You are in for a real treat now that Jon is back! If I could recommend watching his old segments, watch the ones when Jessica Williams and John Oliver were correspondents. 🤣

After living among MAGA-Michiganders for far too long, I breathed a sigh of relief to hear Stewart's carefully crafted mix of clever comedy and rational news commentary again.
I think we need him twice a week!
Or visits from Trevor Noah.
I don't blame Jon for needing a break when he did, but deep down I believe 2016 would have gone differently if he'd stuck around.
The Daily Show should really win some awards for news coverage. I suspected they did a ton of fact checking in addition to all that creative spin.

I gotta say.. when John first returned on only Mondays I thought, “okay I’m going to watch the Monday show only,”. But I was familiar with the other hosts from Trevor’s tenure so then I decided to watch them to see how they did. And I was pleasantly surprised. Now I believe this to be an amazing set up, each host does an excellent job. I can watch any night and know I will laugh. It totally works and I’m excited for John to be back and happy the other hosts get such an amazing opportunity in their careers!
Agree. I didn't find Treavor funny but did appreciate his intellect. I love the format now.

I'm all like, "Why am I watching this? It's an hour long, talking about processes I will never be involved in..." But it was an hour well-spent, it was educational, funnier than an arm bone, with my favorite famous people who I will never meet in person. Which is fine, we have almost nothing in common but a sense of humor and an understanding that you gotta be nice to people. Most of the time.

I appreciate the entire team on the Daily Show, but I must honestly admit I would love having a one on one conversation with Jon - to delve into the depths of his thought processes would be absolutely fascinating. Johns comments at 35:00 on are exactly why Desi is in particular such a great host. Each of them seem to have a slight role or niche they play better than the others and she's been my favorite to watch so far.

I love these incredibly smart, talented, funny people. I’ve listened to Jon Stewart eagerly and with fascination for decades. I even remember the pre-Jon Daily Show. I am absolutely on the edge of my seat listening to all of this behind the scenes discussion. They are in their inimitable way bringing us the most honest news and journalism to be found on television today. They are bringing out truth in one of the most frightening times in all of American history. But gods forgive me, I cannot stop noticing that Desi Lydic,whom I already knew was clever, brilliant and talented, also has some of the most gorgeous legs I have ever seen.

With everything going on in the US. Maybe the Daily Show needs more than one host. I see a great panel of very different people. I love John Stewart (John Stewart for president), but i'd love to see a Daily show where these great (great) people, host the show together.

Jon Stewart came back home and brought the order and discipline back with him.
Like some father who’d been away for awhile.
Personally, Jon Stewart coming back to The Daily Show was Comedy Central's response to HBO's Last Week Tonight with John Oliver; The Daily Show has always been a consistent news-related experience, but it was regularly missing longer moments for social commentary, apart from their (usually) fantastic interviews that can be found on websites like TH-cam. Most of Jon's current Monday shows relay deep-dives into current issues, much like John Oliver's own research team exploring a major issue using dark, absurdist comedy. Jon Oliver's show has better distillation of the news cycle (and higher budget) since it only occurs once a week, with long breaks between seasons, but that just makes it seem more like a documentary series with current events lumped in for effect. The Daily Show will always have the level of professionalism that makes it level with better news shows, like PBS Newshour, both of which exist (in my mind) many leagues higher than the for-profit news media agencies that promote punditry, like CNN, ABC, Faux, etc.
It'll be an interesting week when the two feed off each other: Last Week Tonight does a segment about an issue that The Daily Show reacts to and develops further and/or delves into it from a different perspective, or vice versa.

Jon Stewart is the best host of The Daily Show because on-air it feels like he's genuinely reacting in real-time to the news. And that makes him feel like he's one of us.
Yet he's already rehearsed and iterated the script to its best version.
No offense to Trevor Noah and other hosts, but they look like they've *already* been amused by the news earlier in the day, and now they're just doing a polished run.
Jon is a straight genius.

I love The Daily Show. Each night you get some of the best satire in 5 different brilliant ways that you never know what they will do next.
