To make vehicles slightly less pathetic I would use the following house rules. 1. Each Damage Cluster is rolled separately. 2. If they fail a Destruction check instead of being destroyed they just take an additional point of Degradation (So 2 in most cases or 3 for Infantry facing Anti-Infantry weaponry). 3. AMS: Any Battlefield Support Asset with the Crit-Seeking or Indirect Fire special ability attacking a unit with AMS reduces the value of all of it's damage clusters by 1. For Mechs this consumes 1 volley of AMS ammo.
Unfortunate that battle armor are useless under these rules, since they're forced to move first, so will pretty much never be able to get on top of a mech.
The devs stated that the whole idea of the new rules for BS/tanks/hovercrafts/etc. is that they don't take the spotlight from the mechs. They are supposed to support your mechs, that's why they might feel under-powered compared to the original total warfare rules.
I feel like they went too far in that direction though. When a Medium tank has a 50/50 chance of being outright destroyed by a single medium laser hit they're kind of a pathetic joke at that point.
@frankb3347 These new rules are hot garbage imo. Really unnecessary. They could have just adjusted the rules they already have, they took the lazy route and just made Alpha Strike for Classic.
Classic excels with small unit counts, but adding a platoon (lance) of tanks will make it crrrrrrryunchy. There are ways to fix that but usually when you mention your house rules, all the diehard purists will take it as a personal attack 🙂

Great information! Thank you ☺️
Can’t wait for the retail release!
Can the devs not make anything but Alpha Strike like rules?
Hetzer going hetz

That is an interesting point. I will have to check if there is something special about Battle Armor and anti-mech attacks.
I see someone got their ks unlike Australia

I think that all movement mods should be cut down to a base tmm and jump mods
