hello dear friend i am happy to have found your channel new supporter and bell pressed magpies are interesting birds we have Down under they make amazing sounds sis you know it is considered one of the most intelligent animals in the world and one of only a few non-mammal species able to recognize itself in a mirror test this is great footage love the close ups full watch from me love the capture thumbs up best wishes
Thank you very much Peter, I knew they were very intelligent but didn't know they passed the mirror test. That's good to hear, I heard dolphins past the test.
I've never been swooped by a magpie, but in October I use a different park because the Noisy/Native Mynah attack me and many others. The last time I was swooped one came flying very fast towards me at head height straight at my face. I know it would have swerved away, but I quickly ducked down anyway, just in case. I survived. 😁
@@neilhamill318 I've been swooped at from the side and from behind, but this one flew at me from 30 or 40 metres away at a height of 175cm, glaring into my eyes the whole time. I'm 183cm tall. I'll be back at the park late Nov or early Dec.😁
The Lyre Bird is the greatest mimic. If you haven'y seen it. Watch Sir David Attenborough's film They can even mimic a Chain Saw cutting down trees in the forest etc etc.

lol 1 thumbs down...must be a magpie attack victim. i was getn swooped and followed by a crow a few months back on the daily, never seen em do that. it never actually attacked just swooped real close and attempted to intimidate. might have to rok ova n say Gday to a bit of hitchcock actions. been too long.
Wow listen at 8:04, it quickly imitates a toy ray gun, other birds, a car alarm and a human whistle.

@@DanDownunda8888 LOL. Remembering a few similar swoops from the noisy miners flying very close to my head making a rapid clicking sound as they pass.
