And I love that it’s shitty vhs level quality. It just makes everything feel so much more lived in. Like if she was coming through loud and clear, with perfect quality, it’d feel off.
Yes, the agent’s voice doesn’t really bother me in the slightest; maybe a little higher pitched than I’d have expected, but given that the voice artist/actor is apparently Halley Gross (Druckmann’s co-writer of TLOU2), it fits. Halley is in her late 30s, and as far as I can tell, it looks like they’ve also retained her facial likeness (aside from the added eyepatch, prominent facial scar, and darker hair colour of course!) I think the lo-fidelity TV screen just gives the impression that her character is much older. I do like the Carrie-Anne Moss kinda vibes she gives off, aesthetically speaking, and I also get the sense that she is hiding something… that pregnant pause before she says “I’ll see you on the other side, kid” seems laden with a hint of concealment.
I like the voice too. I think the main problem is that it is clear that her whole role here is to deliver exposition which just makes some of the dialog clunky. I'm sure this whole scene (if it's in the game) will play out differently.

It’s got an adventure vibe like the name Uncharted. Idk, that’s just me.
Funny that you mention Hyper Light Breaker, because I feel like the only one who picked up on the Hyper Light Drifter vibes in this trailer. The moody synth music, the weird alien runic language, the mysterious abandoned planet filled with ancient rotting mech creatures, and like you said presumably similar dashy, laser sword/pistol combat. Can't wait to see more.
The music pulled me in and the art style and action are keeping me there. Hope and expect the story to be amazing. Also since no zombies this will be my first time actually playing a ND game lmao
Mr Cortez, great first take, sir. I’m totally with you in your balanced overview and general perception of this title, setting and protagonist. I’m also loving the sense of intrigue that this trailer is giving off, from the Reznor & Ross synthwave-y score, to the tidbits of info about Jordan’s former ‘crew’; why has she turned bounty hunter when she is quite evidently a former member of the Five Aces herself? Maybe she has been caught by Galactipol, and been offered a plea deal to bring her crew mates in… who knows? I love that we are getting a space bounty hunter game from naughty dog. But, knowing it's them I can't wait to see where they take the sci fi premise. Clearly something happened with the crew that made them disband. I'm hoping that they discovered something that they shouldn't have. Some crazy sci fi universe mystery from this team will be unbelievable. Plus, back to the action adventure from them is super exciting.
Honestly, people saying Concord or Guardians are ignoring the main comparison that somehow everyone has forgotten about. Conceptually, narratively, and even considering the potential soulslike direction you mentioned, this game is extremely similar to Returnal, which also had the exact same premise. Knowing Naughty Dog thought, the gameplay is going to be far better, as is the narrative, which Druckmann spoke about I believe.
NGL, when I saw the trailer I initially thought Between Good and Evil 2. Which is kinda weird because when they showed the title, the background kinda look like the animation for the Ubisoft logo.
I don’t want anyone to not be excited for this game but man we got a full cutscene for trailer and no gameplay which we’re always told to manage expectations. NF has delivered but I’m cautiously optimistic
Game looks sick. Next level mocap and hopefully solid combat. But the music and overall aesthetic just top notch. I love the idea that you're hunting down members of your old crew. I want to know more! Edit: is the "blade" of the sword a sound wave?
I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a planet hoping, space cowboy, bounty hunting adventure. From the official description it sounds like the game will take place on this planet, and the game revolves around the character trying to get off of/leave the planet. Sounds a lot like Returnal’s main premise to me. I’m interested, I’m sure this game will be epic. I just wish they showed more than 2 seconds of gameplay. Neil also said a couple years ago that he’s taking influence from Elden Ring and how From tells their stories, so I imagine this game will have a lot of item lore? Maybe we have to piece the story together through reading item descriptions etc. I wonder if the gameplay will feel Souls-like as well.
Neil said he was taking inspiration from other games like Elden Ring in the way they told their story via envuronmental story telling and thats been miscontrued as being a soulslike game
One thing that i'm really excited to see is how they will expand and get creative with the art direction and level design. For so long now we've only seen Naughty Dog in more grounded universes with UC and TLOU so i'm excited to see what they do with more creative freedom in an original sci-fi world. I hope you're wrong about not seing it release for another 2 and a half years. I'm hoping for 2026.
They didn't talk more about combat but rather exploration and storytelling of souls games. So i have a feeling this game won't be a linear title and rather focus on exploration and having melee focused combat gives them a sense of rpgness of it and replay ability aspect of the game
The eyepatch lady is Halley gross the co writer of last of us two and I assume this so makes sense why the delivery isn’t supreme but still so cool they put her in it
I really hope its not a souls like - just not a game style for me, and seems even more of a departure for ND than already considering the setting. But all that said, I will absolutely still be buying day 1.
Soulslike with guns? So BB then 😆 But regardless of the gameplay, which I’m super excited about and hope to see more details of soon, the thing that hooked me is aesthetic and music of it. And when I learned what the game was inspired by, two of my many favorite anime, Akira and Cowboy Bebop I was immediately onboard and knew why I was drawn to it to begin with. We need to see more! Most importantly release date. I wish it was 2025, but I’m not too hopeful that it will be lol.
I think it´s going to be Uncharted like exploration and set pieces in an Alien planet with a laser sword and lessons they learned from tlou 2 combat but more melee focused with parries dodges etc, the art team is going to be unleashed in this setting and Rafa Grassetti is Art Director for this game
It was 5 years from Uncharted 4 to TLOU2. Probably about the same for this. Maybe the mess up with TLOU Online being cancelled will push it to 2026. But that's only a little over 12 months away. I'm just sad because it'll be another 2-5 years for this to come to PC. I'll probably end up buying a PS5 for this game.
@HoneyTwee the last of us online possibly pushed it back a bit but they did start working on Intergalactic in 2020 so who knows. Maybe it's a bit sooner than we think
Considering how expensive video games are nowadays I can't fault studios to do product placements in their games to generate money outside from sales. And i guess it will get more rather than less in the future as long as new games take 5-7years to complete. I for one would rather have combat like in Jedi Survivors than a full on soulslike game.
Exactly. I have no idea what he's talking about lmaooo. It's going to be a semi open world action adventure game. Think Uncharted/ GoW2018/ Star Wars Outlaws
I’ve never played any souls-like game, as they seem way too hard for my taste. I’m someone who enjoys open-world games like RDR2, Horizon, Ghost, GTA, etc. With souls-likes being all around, and everyone prazing games like Eldenring, I feel like I wanna give em a try. What’s the entry level game for babies you would recommend, to introduce me of the genre and maybe even make me like it?
When this game eventually releases its actual gameplay… The antiwoke crowd are going to be reminded how much they hated this game, I have no doubt this will be great.

Neil said he was taking inspiration from other games like Elden Ring in the way they told their story via envuronmental story telling and thats been miscontrued as being a soulslike game
2:27 Thought you were gonna write “Manscaped” and segue into a promotion.😂
I think it’s extremely unlikely that it will have souls like gameplay.
they use year 2000 screens in an advanced spaceship. that makes no sense
in their game, space travel quickly advanced by the 1980s
Looks cool tho
its called an aesthetic~
If there's going to Akira influence, I need to see some similarly sick mutations and body horror
Pop off
this game looks dope as hell
Game looks sooooooo good. So so so hyped!
Tlou2 is my favorite game of all time. I trust Naughty Dog with my life, this game is going to be INCREDIBLEEEE.
Oh god please no do not let it be a souls like that will make me not buy it instantly as cool as this looks and I really really wanna play it ;-;
Soulslike with guns?
So BB then 😆
But regardless of the gameplay, which I’m super excited about and hope to see more details of soon, the thing that hooked me is aesthetic and music of it.
I am so excited for the feelings this trailer brought music setting the fact the director says he wants to do something like elden ring exploring wise
I think it´s going to be Uncharted like exploration and set pieces in an Alien planet with a laser sword and lessons they learned from tlou 2 combat but more melee focused with parries dodges etc, the art team is going to be unleashed in this setting and Rafa Grassetti is Art Director for this game
I hope its fast paced like returnal but with more world interactions. i have been waiting for ND to make sci-fi
ND has never missed with me. Tlou and Uncharted franchises are some of my favorite frabchises. This is a must buy for me.
Looks great!
Given ND said they will show their games trailer closer to release... My bet is either late 2025 or early 2026 🎉
The last Playstation i owned was back in the PS2 era. This and all the backlog of games for PS is really pushing me to get a PS again lol
I love sci-fi and cyberpunk im so ready
I enjoyed this 🤓
I think it looks cool, im excited, and I skipped the last few releases from ND.
Im feeling late '26, like October or May at the earliest. Then PS6 '27 with a remaster.
Considering how expensive video games are nowadays I can't fault studios to do product placements in their games to generate money outside from sales. And i guess it will get more rather than less in the future as long as new games take 5-7years to complete.
I for one would rather have combat like in Jedi Survivors than a full on soulslike game.
Please no souls like :(
Exactly. I have no idea what he's talking about lmaooo.
It's going to be a semi open world action adventure game. Think Uncharted/ GoW2018/ Star Wars Outlaws
yea i hate souls like games
I can't wait !!!!
When this game eventually releases its actual gameplay…
The antiwoke crowd are going to be reminded how much they hated this game, I have no doubt this will be great.
