I'm learning a ton from them and am able to replicate what you're showing us. Your level of detail is perfect. Hope you hit one of the jets so we can see the differences in autopilot configuration on them too!

    I really love watching your videos, but you may want to consider slowing down a bit. For me as a beginner it’s hard to follow everything even if I pause many times. I always miss some steps. So much information. It’s like taking a drink from a fire hydrant :)

      If you try it in game, then go back to the start of these videos and watch until the point where you got confused in game, it makes it much easier to put the steps together in your head. Dont try to memorize the entire process, just try it in game to see how far you remember until you fail and it will help you understand the theory of it more than just memorizing. I felt the same way with "holy crap this is complicated" but breaking it into sections helped.

    These are simply the best tutorials! There's something about your videos that is very calming.
    One thing I have to say is that I don't necessarily agree the g36 is a good step up if someone was just flying 172's in the game. Have to worry about gear and prop feathering which makes things a hell of a lot more complicated while trying to learn IFR

      G1000 systems can be very confusing. You could try sitting in the aircraft on the ground and just playing around with the buttons. That could help you for most of the buttons on the bottom of the screen. Another tip to help you out is to remember that both screens are essentially the same. Aside from the autopilot, there are two sets of each button. So that cuts the amount of buttons by half.

    I had issues getting these frequencies for the Localiser but i found they are actually in game! you can turn them on in the filters for navaids and look at the runway you're planning on landing at and you can see the little icon it'll tell you what it is and the frequency info if you select it!

    • @copperx
      @copperx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but that works only in the World Map view. Consider the scenario that the wind direction changes and you'll have to use another runway. Never forget your approach plates, no matter how good the preparation.

    If you are using ATC on an IFR flight plan but dont choose a runway on either takeoff or landing...will they vector you into SIDs/STARs at the larger airports or do they vector you into a made up route that the computer picks?

    Fantastic video, I will reproduce the exact same flight just for me to learn & practise. One question though: at 22:20 you say "make sure your barometric pressure is set correctly". I'm so far as understanding this is the QNH / real pressure instead of the standardized 29.92 for flight levels. But how do you know the QNH and how do you set it in FS2020?

    • @ProWithABow231
      @ProWithABow231 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use the PROC button and arm or activate the approach it puts it in your nav radio automatically. I’m not sure if there’s a way to just look up the frequencies yourself in the game. Granted, it is a simulation game so it assumes you either have fore flight or paper charts for the airports you’re going to. Paper charts are cheap if I remember correctly, and it’s not like you’re flying for real so the currency of them doesn’t matter. Foreflight on the other hand is expensive but you can look up any airport whereas paper charts are only for certain areas of the US.
