    I just flew a VOR-based IFR flight, planned with Skyvector, in a Cessna 152 (KMQI > ECG > EYUFI > KEDE) using the guidance you've given when it comes to reading the arrival diagrams, maps and using the NAV radios and ILS. It was a relatively short flight, but was quite challenging in the rain and made the safe landing that much sweeter. Your videos have really improved my experience in MSFS and taught me a lot about aviation in general. Thanks a ton for the quality content you've been putting out and I definitely look forward to more!

    Please, consider doing an entire video on the TBM!

    A lot of information in a small amount of time, well done!

    You are explaining this wonderfully! I wish the arrival and approach charts in Germany would also be available in SkyVector.

    Thanks for all your videos, I am feeling quite fit in navigation now. But may you make a video about ATC too? I often get confused when and how to request the right arrival procedures, do handovers, find the correct com frequencies and change my flight plan. In worst case I am already in a glideslope, but atc speaks about other waypoints or flight levels.

    It sure looks good like that. My game for some reason, don't know if it's a matter of bugs or a fault in my control scheme but when I deactivate nav ap or ap as a whole it seems imposible to control. I assume is because that leaves the trim that the ap set still on but setting it to 0 is not possible with a button unlike real life afaik. And the issue is that the trim toggles then make it imposible for ap to trim again so no way to set it up realisticly?

    Thank you, I would have been bummed if you skipped the ILS approach.

    Whats the purpose of using VORs if that other screen shows you lines of where to go, I guess its using GPS. Is VOR supposed to be a backup if the GPS on a plane stops working, in which case I guess you wouldn't be able to trust the lines and whatnot on that middle screen?

    How do people fly these in the 'real world'? Are people flying radials/VORs or are you allowed to use GPS for this?
    I am specifically wondering for non RNAV arrivals

    Looks like the AP put you way below the glide slope, which I assume is the green dot with the "G" on the right side. Is it fair to assume that this is a bug in MSFS? Or is it possible in the real world as well?

      In my experience with the sim so far, the TBM does a good job keeping the glide slope. I think in this case, because he had almost full fuel, he was pretty heavy coming in and needed more speed for the approach.

      Seemed like he was way below GS the minute before touch down. Not sure but could be that he missed out on increasing the throttle so the AP could not keep the altitude with his heavy weight. Nevertheless I would expect some kind of "below glideslode alert". But not familiar with that plane.

    I find myself battling the AP in FS2020 ALOT for some reason which makes me think i'm doing something wrong.. is it just me orrrrrrrrrr?

    So you dont need to fly all the waypoints on a aproach, you can depart from it at any time as long as the control tower says so? And if so who do you keep a correct altitude?

    I have also noticed this weird super climb when I turn on autopilot sometimes. Why does it do that? Just a bug?

    I know you flew this 'ignoring' ATC, but if you flew this arrival in the sim, is it clever enough to realise thats what you are doing and for ATC to give you appropriate commands to complete your arrival/approach?

    • @Alexander91
      @Alexander91 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I found is that as soon as you have a route set up in your FMS, you can get clearance from the AI ATC based on the FMS flight plan, so the AI ATC will route you along whatever was setup in the FMS anyway. Additionally, I did get some "approach" requests from ATC that seemed somewhat reasonable based on flight plans that did not include an arrival/approach yet.

    • @sddsddean
      @sddsddean 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for that...sounds like it 'almost' works like the real world! I'll give it a go and see how I get on.
