Lucina actually isn't a Marth clone. Marths highest damage is achieved when hitting people with the tip of the blade. Lucina's highest damage potential lies in the body of the blade. So they play somewhat differently

Even if you end up pummeling your opponent with the hilt of Marths blade, you'll still be way ahead of Lucina. Making the idea of Lucina rather... useless. Marth's tipped blade also gives him slightly more range. I'm ok with that, being the more difficult pick, he needs something to make him more appealing then just having high damage potential.

I personally like Lucina better than Marth. Sure, the tippers are cool, and he has slightly more range. But Lucina's moves have less end lag, and you can really get in close for crazy damage. Marth is more suited for players who can space well and play patiently and defensively. I'm not that player :p P.S. I also like Lucina's Shield Breaker better. Less end lag, but doesn't send you as far when fully charged.
