One thing I'm always concerned about is God. I don't wanna be an entrepreneur and have a good time if it means I'm going to hell. I want to be with God and I just don't know how. I know God wants me to succeed, that's why he planted this mindset in me, but I somehow need to focus on becoming successful and on God. Also all the things that come with success such as women, partying, etc, are all sinful and I know I will be tempted to do these things. I just don't wanna go to hell man

Personally I'm not that religious in the sense. I do believe there is a god but I believe that all systems and philosophies are just as valid as each other. Who said buddhism isn't as vaild as Christianity? You see, if god gave you that mindset. Why would he send you to hell if he is the one who is literally planting that mindset? Is he wanting to doom you to hell? Obviously not. Don't be a fool of yourself. The reason the texts say being rich is a bad thing is subjective. If you wanted to go on the nietzsche route you can say that it is just a poor people cope. Which I personally kinda believe but that's beside the point. Money is very much a modifier. When you have bad morals and values you end up doing more bad then good if you were rich then poor. Now I don't know your religion. But if you are catholic Christian the church literally racks in billions of dollars and owns trillions of art, historic artifacts and some think they have time machines. If the church literally is earning all this money but doesn't give a fuck about the poverty situation in the world then obviously, if you want change, will have to take matters into your own hands. Become rich and start a foundation for a organization towards fixing the world. Smaller churches do this, I used to live in san diego and I would go to church. The church I went to literally built houses, nice suburban houses for the poor in the city. My stance on it all really is to take what you believe is a good value and what isn't. Question it all, ask why sins are sins. The reason why gambling is a sin is because it not only is addictive, it can literally ruin your life and ontop of that ruin your faith. The reason why gratitude is a good thing is because being grateful for what you have in life literally makes you happier. Personally I see religious books as a mix of philosophy, stories and a old how to guide to life.
