  • Working collectively between all of our partners, Pro Touring Concepts have produced yet another beast of a 79 Series Dual Cab. This highly modified Landcruiser belongs to Anthony all the way from Port Headland in WA.
    We've added 300mm into the chassis through Creative Conversions, a Package 3 Norweld canopy on their Deluxe Tray Base. The full suite of Enerdrive goodies, Department of the interior internal roof and floor consoles and to top it off a GVM/GCM coil conversion by JMACX!

    Another great build guys. Well done. That Norweld canopy coupled with the Enerdrive set-up looks absolutely superb. Also love the work that Creative Conversions do and the Jmax conversion is a great bit of kit for the 79. I’m just left wondering if the Ironman shocks were at the request of the owner? Geez I’ve seen a lot of those Ironman shocks fail on touring trips such as along The Canning Stock Route and FNQ. Given your relationship with ARB, why not at least throw on some Old Man Emu’s? You only have to look at the 2 side by side to see the difference in build quality. It just seems like an odd choice on such a high end build. I apologise for a bit of a backhanded compliment but it really is a genuine observation based on my experiences with seeing those shocks die time and time again in real world touring situations. Cheers

      Hey mate thanks for your comment - the Ironman Shocks are the standard package that comes with the JMACX bolt on coil conversion, they have been tested in conjunction with JMACX as the valving is spot on for them.. Their upmarket 3-4" packages include Kings Shocks remote res which in our opinion are leaps and bounds ahead of Ironman as far as shock quality and overall performance 👍

    Impressive rear suspension saving a lot of dead weight of "that" massive LC leave springs set up, enabling the shocks to absorb and smooth out the ride, suppose you can choose different spring ratings if needed. Think it is much more than a step above.

    There are some many cool things about these types of rigs but after $80k you still have no place to sleep (or other wise escape the elements), or go to the bathroom. So what you have is a super rad car for car camping.

Dont get me wrong I want trying to be critical of your work.. it's a brilliant setup and really well done, my point is in Australia we make all these aesthetic choices in rig builds at the cost of performance and handling constantly when it's so easy to fix the problem. ALL rig builds you see are like this. We give little to no thought to performance and way too much to the way it looks. You guys to awesome work by the way

      @@2wheelsontheroad818 you lose a shit load of room inside the canopy if you put them inside? its not aesthetics, its sacrificing a bit of weight over the rear diff for storage which is the main aim in touring rigs.

    • @2wheelsontheroad818
      @2wheelsontheroad818 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SikPlumber actually it is nothing But Aesthetic reasons. The canopy extends just as long if you change the placement of the wheels. Watch any video anywhere and they ALWAYS SAY (as he has here) "you wanna get all the weight forward over the axle" and every time the put 100 plus kilograms of wheels at the very back. Can't fight physics people, just like you can't get Aussies to put applied thought into rig builds ahead of aesthetics
