- Our long awaited Meccano set! Haha .. This ute has been floating around partner sheds and ours for quite some time. A lot of head scratching involved to bring together what we see as the ideal 79 dual cab. It may not be everyones cup of tea - but suits our family needs perfectly.

Thanks mate. Yeah the auto definitely changes things in the 79. Also makes it feel like a more roomy comfortable car , sit back and enjoy the rear coils more 😂

Yeah pretty typical of the 79. You do gain about 15/20mm running the 4 seater setup added bonus

Is this better than a full canopy in terms of long period touring ?
For the head storage , do I see AC ventilations ? Or something else 😮
Cheers! This style of setup is more suited to shorter term touring and weekenders. Having the ability to use the tray for daily use as well. The larger canopies are easily better suited with more internal lockable storage. No AC vents in the roof storage unit mate

There is one mod I never hear about on any 79 build: air con. Is there additional ducting especially for back passenger?

With all those power upgrades to the engine has it had a dpf “upgrade”?
Haha yes definitely mate - 'dpf solutions' as we like to call it.
Typically, the price of set-up is conveniently withheld. Other OZ conversion companies will happily include the total cost, which puts a better understanding of what each main conversion costs..So, that auto conversion $20k'ish, interior mods add another $20k, engine/exhaust $13-15k, suspension/wheels, $30k then add another $60-75k for everything else. All on top of the original purchase price of over $100k and that's roughly a $275-280k spend. Still awesome thou!
No hiding costs here mate but to be honest we don’t need to disclose unless we have serious customers wanting the same which we do. We just quote on on a requested basis. This one is roughly $315k mate

Plenty come out of china unfortunately.. these are directly from Toyota ordered for a LHD model. You can order these from local dealerships
This is a sick rig only one thing you said you total rolling package is almost 9T GCM… GCM upgrades have not been approved for modifications in Australia yet so your GCM is still 6800KG
It's GVM + BTC mate, under commercial vehicle not truck. We have a federal approval for 4495kg GVM + 4500kg BTC with an automatic transmission.

How does all this expense get you closer to nature or improve the view ? Especially in light of the fact that the hire 4wd's get to all the same tourist spots and camp grounds ?

It doesn't get you any closer.. well that totally depends on the vehicle that you have in the first place. We've worked hard at aligning our business demographic. People who can, will. The cars aren't for everyone but those who can afford it - why not.

Why do I see u guys installing RCD’s in your builds? If u knew anything about electricity you’d know an rcd is completely useless on an inverter!🤷♂️
We add an MEN link to the inverter . It trips on short circuit and earth leakage. We have 2 sparkies that work for PTC.
An MEN link, on an inverter? That’s hilarious!🤣 An inverter is isolated from earth, meaning there no reference to earth, therefore it’s impossible to have a neutral! You’ve connected your earth wire to a live conductor. You’ve now created the exact fault which you’re trying to protect against! The only thing saving you from an electric shock, is that it isolated from earth.🙄😂
