Ooty of Malabar| Kariyathumpara| സ്വർഗ്ഗതുല്യമായ താഴ്‌വാരം🏞🍃

Kariyathumpara also known as “Ooty of Malabar”❄️ is the best place for those who want to enjoy the beauty of nature. It is a lovely tourist destination. It is situated in Koorachund Panchayat, 45 kms from Kozhikode. It is a really great place, covered all around with greenary, grassy pastures and lake. The greenish scenery ☘️ and river flowing between and the hills background ⛰resembles a paradise. I loved the long stretch of grass meadows. It is a nice and calm place to visit. Children, especially, would love this place as there is lot of area to play around. We saw a lot of people swimming there🏊🏼‍♂️. The water actually comes from the nearby Kakkayam Dam. The water flowing over the pebbles is really a beautiful sight and to feel the warmth of the stones under the river will make you relaxed. It is a perfect place for photo-shoots📸. The beauty is at its peak during monsoon season. The best month to visit here is Aug.-Sep. Horse ride 🐎is available here. It costs Rs. 100/- per person.
Working Time: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Entry Ticket🎟
Adult: Rs. 30/-
Children: Rs. 10/-
Senior Citizens: Rs. 15/-
Note: You can use the same ticket for entry to Thonikadav (2 km from there). Google pay is not available. But they accept cash and card. It will be crowded in the weekends.
🛑You should be careful while playing in the water as it may look shallow and safe but many accidents have occured here (even death). The rocks are slippery.
🚯Plz don’t throw any waste here. It is our duty to keep the environment clean. The locals are trying their best to keep it clean. Hats off to them👏🏼🫶🏻.
Kakkayam Dam and Thonikadav are near to this place. So if you are planning to visit Kariyathumpara, you can go there also😊. Thonikadav was opened in Feb. 2021. You can enjoy the view from the Watch Tower here. There is childrens park as well as sitting area in this place. You can enjoy your evening with your family and friends. I believe that Kariyathumpara is one of the “ Should Visit” places near Kozhikode and I absolutely enjoyed my visit here.😍
