    haka really helps players to get into the state of a kind of warrior's trance and suppress feeling of fear befour match

      yes, everything is in its place, when u tremble u just need to show it, like they do playing with fingers, when your knees get weak just squat like they do and press hard leg muscles, to get any thoughts out of mind do like they do - goggle, stick out your toung and shout

      It’s about building there spiritual strength and at the same time lower there spiritual strength. That’s called getting mental edge, but then you’ve got to put it in practice on the paddock. But remember it’s more about demonstrating that this is a clash and they’re prepared to give it there all. It’s not about or solely about victory.

    How can anyone put this down? I'm a german/english/irish guy from the United States and I love it everytime I see it. Tradition is a great thing and it's awesome that they allow all the players to do this no matter what their ethnicity is. I am all for keeping up on the traditions of the native people, you can't live in the past but you can appreciate it.

    Can someone explain to me, which player is the one walking around in the Haka, the guy without a shirt in this case? Is it like the oldest player? Or the one with the most games played? Or just a certain position in the field? Couldn't find this on the internet

    • @smashyu3316

      Purely just because he can bro.

    • @cloeyhuia7581
      @cloeyhuia7581 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      they choose this person to lead the haka purely because they see him fit for the position of the words and the right amount of strength for it not because of age or position in the team :) sometimes the coach chooses or the team chooses :)

    • @rahowhero
      @rahowhero 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Cloey Huia my school full of maoris used to try and make me lead haka vs other strong maori schools as an insult to them....me being near opaque and ginger and good with words, actions and pukana.....I said, no thank you. (haka was whiti whiti.....nga puhi)

    • @MaluluKeleGuiSila
      @MaluluKeleGuiSila 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wel that doesn't explain anything properly

    • @MaluluKeleGuiSila
      @MaluluKeleGuiSila 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anyone can lead the Haka; provided he's gonna do it justice. A ginger, an African, an Asian or a blonde can lead the Haka if he knows the words, actions and has the ability to properly express it right. There's no point getting a Maori to lead the Haka if de doesn't speak Maori, dances like a weasel in front of the opposing team.

    @bordshat no it isnt... there are thousands of different hakas from all over aotearoa (nz).
    if you made the team and by chance didnt know this particular haka, it would be taught to you, usually from another team mate or a well respected kaumatua (elder).
    each haka has a meaning or story within it... this one talks about the beginning of time and life.

  • @sleepysnoops
    @sleepysnoops 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Neylonx but you see this the meaning of the dance is being misused the dance was never used as means of intimidation but means of greeting guests or for celebrating. so dont be misconceived by the meaning of the dance but i get what u are saying

    I grew up in the U.S no exposure to Rugby whatsoever played our football. About a year ago I seen a match on TV with the All Blacks they did the Haka I was pumped before I even knew the game. Now I play rugby and wish I had started years ago Its the best physically competitive sport in the world. I prefer the union version but both are great. America needs to get with the ruck.

    I have observed the mexican culture and you can see the calender with a face in the middle sticking out his tongue it means , showing his soul!At least a shaman told me once, back in the day couples would look at each other sticking out their tongues and watching, letting the soul out and let them enter aswell! And they do though aswell Respect to the Maori!
    the haka gives me energy and strength , this team is a family on field, dying for each other!
    Raw nowadays

    I agree with you. However the Maori in the early conflicts with the British decided to face the Brits in the open field more than once. This proved to be a costly lesson for the Maori...therefore changing tactics was smart.
