I may be Samoan,German and Chinese..but the passion I see in the Maori people and in the Haka always gets me!! Love it!! Tradition is a great thing and it's awesome that they allow all the players to do this no matter what their ethnicity is. they choose this person to lead the haka purely because they see him fit for the position of the words and the right amount of strength for it not because of age or position in the team :) sometimes the coach chooses or the team chooses :)

I grew up in the U.S no exposure to Rugby whatsoever played our football. About a year ago I seen a match on TV with the All Blacks they did the Haka I was pumped before I even knew the game. Now I play rugby and wish I had started years ago Its the best physically competitive sport in the world. I prefer the union version but both are great. America needs to get with the ruck.

I agree with you. However the Maori in the early conflicts with the British decided to face the Brits in the open field more than once. This proved to be a costly lesson for the Maori...therefore changing tactics was smart.
