I've been thinking about that topshelf shelf bag for a couple of days, since they sent the email to say it's available, I especially like the Garmin mount.
Thanks Roy Just ordered the top shelf bar, bag, cruise control grips and bar tape. Value for money (including your discount), thanks for that. Also thanks for a very informative and entertaining channel, Wendy and yourself together are an absolute scream. Keep it shiney side up🚴, looking forward to you next episode👍🏻😊. Wullie Cunningham
@@williamcunningham9819 thanks, Wullie, that’s how we are much of the time but I cut a lot of the tomfoolery out. Now I know it’s enjoyed I’ll leave more in. Enjoy your new kit!
With all those double-entendres it was like watching "carry on cycling"! Ha. Comedy gold 😂👍 bag looks decent. Question for you, the new Sid James, is it fully waterproof (the bag I mean)?
Well at least you didn’t liken me to Kenneth Williams 😀Redshift aren’t making any claims about it being fully waterproof so I’ve emailed them for a comment and will get back to you. It got wet on a recent ride and I didn’t notice any leakage. However, I had sprayed mine with some fabric waterproofer just to be certain.
Redshift responded that while the bag is not technically waterproof it will stand up to a lot of rain. So if you get caught in a shower it’s unlikely to harm the contents, but I would coat it with a boot type spray proofing to be sure.
Didn’t realise how much you had to put up with making these videos Roy 😂 Genuine question, how solid is the bottom (of the bag 😂) Are there any straps on the bottom to enable you to mount larger lights or cameras?
I’m pleased that you see how much I suffer for my art! As for the solid bottom. There is a little give but it is very firm. There are also a set of loops along the full length of underside of the base to allow the fixing of accessories. It would certainly hold heavier lights or an action camera. As Redshift offer free returns it wouldn’t be a risk to try one.
Well the vid certainly brightened up my day 😂. Good looking bag which I’m wondering if it would fit on the front of my folder. Any chance of the dimensions of the bag please Roy. Also how far apart the two main straps are. Thanks,,,,,,
@@rolandbrooks467 glad you liked it, Roland. I often remove the tomfoolery but decided to leave it in so you all know what I have to put up with 😀 The strap centres are 95mm. They are removable and fit into a choice of vertical slots, so you can just use one pair and at a variety of heights. Just bear in mind that Redshift offers free return if it doesn’t suit you. I’ve had a variety of front bags but this is genuinely the best so far. I particularly like the large padded phone pocket as I’ve previously damaged a phone that fell out of a bag.
Hello Roy, can you please recommend a really good front light to fit the the new Redshift, Top Shelf bag. Regards Dennis Volley, a very keen and long standing follower of your excellent videos.
Hi, Dennis. thanks for your support. I use two lights depending on the conditions. For a daytime 'be seen' light I have just purchased this one amzn.to/3AfdenS It's incredibly bright and lasts a long time on one charge when in flashing mode and its nice and wide. For night riding, I have used the Chilli Tech Cree light for several years www.chilli-tech.com/bike-lights/Cree-LED-Front-Bike-Light I use the larger battery and can ride for many hours on a charge. Bear in mind this has a separate battery pack but that can strap to the frame or sit in the Top Shelf bag. It is very bright and can be dipped using the button. However, I find tilting it down to avoid dazzling drivers is easier and more effective. I have the 'be seen' light mounted to the front loop on the bag and the headlight mounted to the bar for easy control. The headlight can be used as a 'be seen' light but you'll have the extra weight of the battery, which is why I use the lighter Moonlight during the day. I hope that helps.
