As someone who has never played trackmania seeing buckley play has made me realise just how much easier wirtual makes this game look than it is
I recomend you try it out :D I'm much more worse than buckley but its still fun and figuring out how to drive faster is such a good feeling :3 you don't need the Version that costs the free one is enoth for the start
As someone who played tmnf casually for a total of 200 hours and just started trackmania 2020 today, I can confirm that he makes it look so easy and casual but it doesn't discourage me one bit and I don't even know how to drive in things other than normal road blocks lol

I mean, knowing the mechanic behind tm is a thing, but really using all the tricks possible (and having them working) is another one, and damn it's hard

Buckley should have picked a map that was 15 minutes long so Wirtual only got 1 attempt.
Or a kacky map thats mostly luck based. 5 hours is a lot more tries so with a high luck factor it gives buckley a higher chance to win.
They probably discussed some rules of this challenge.

This is a super good example of how experience and knowledge work. Wirtual was able to make really focused and directed decisions about how and where to improve and avhieve the same kind of time in ~1% of the time

I’ve only ever watched top trackmania players and never played the game myself, but it’s insane to see how you can just tell from the driving style and visuals how much quicker the real good players are

I downloaded trackmania for the first time today on my ps5 and i must say that its more fun to watch other people play trackmania then to play myself.
It will grow, it is a typical case of easy to do, hard to master. What I like about the game is that everyone has the same car, same choice of controls, no hitting each other...
I feel the same way lol its my first racing game but ill set my times on the campaign maps, try to get all golds. If i cant in like 3 days ill just leave it for next season

Yeah, I realised because the PB splits were "bad" relative to his previous respawned runs, so I checked the PB time and it had changed.
This is pretty cool, ive got a tattoo on my arm that says "Komorebi" in Japanese. Had a lil smile when i heard this was the name of the map :)

If someone was just starting to learn Trackmania, what resources would you recommend to help learn all of the tricks like speed sliding, air braking, etc? I heard someone joking about a new player trying to get world record on Oach which isn't realistic... but starting to get better placements for cup of the day and such might be a good short term goal to shoot for at least for me!
