He does submit runs actually, but when he does he uses pseudonyms like "riolu".

I loved this TAS run, it was just so unnecessarily wicked in places. I'm glad my floor 7 skip was used, wild to see it in a full run, even though it a TAS. I think the cut used on Floor 8 is quicker than the other cut as you can just gain the speed without have to turn around. It's what I used to get the record on that floor. I was also surprised that it didn't use either floor 10 skip. Incredible stuff though!
In the description Bux did admit he spent a limited amount of time making it because he was afraid of a game update happening at any point which could break his TAS tool. So suboptimal things in it are quite possibly due to that.

when i see a trackmania tas, i always expect some crazy uberbugs stuff or something.
i can totally see some stuff like a nosebug, into an angled plastic surface, redirecting the momentum upwards, and skipping multiple floors.... this multiple times, and its a 1 minute run sometimes in the future...
But there is no tool for setting the inputs in TM2020 yet. That makes these kinds of tricks much harder to get, since you have to drive it yourself only using savestates.
It would probably be possible tho, just takes much more time

@@solidVI cant be that hard to setup a keybind macro. unless TM auto detects and calls BS, a key macro software should do the trick easily enough, problem then becomes finding the spot. Like we see at the end of the video, i think it was more a time issue. He said he didnt want to spend too much time on it.
@@rFey I'm afraid i dont understand the question. TM is 100% deterministic so it's easy to do trial runs and try different inputs at will. Or am i missing something?
@@rFey You don't need TM to have bruteforcing tools to actually do any of that. Something as simple as a python script would be enough. Almost every coding language has a way of interacting with your computer and faking an input from a keyboard. TM2020 having integrated TAS tools would make it easier and more fine-tuned but its not necessary at all.
I've never once played this game nor do I even know where to find it, but somehow i find myself watching countless videos of you playing lol

Love that Wirt had Rocket League video's in his youtube feed. TrackMania and Rocket League feel like sister games in a way, because both are unconventional car based games with unlimited skill ceilings and very dedicated playerbases.

There could be a deep dip tower, then at the top is a tube to the bottom of another tower that you can only get to from the tube.
i feel like my words will age badly, but I don't think there will be a crazier map then deep dip. This already took so many mappers to put together and most of the map won't be driven by 99.99% of the playerbase. For those players who where good enough it seemed torturous to complete. I feel like there is a limit before people just don't bother with maps like these
And to get into that tube you need to have MEGA aim…
@@taliesine.8343 : Yes, those words have aged ... actually, I'm not sure that the fact you were wrong about the existence of Deep Dip II means the words aged badly. Your reasons still make sense, and it will be interesting to see what the player experience is like, and whether the limit is just a little further out than you thought or whether there is just something weird that means people keep making harder and harder maps like these.

its determined by the skill and patience of the tas runner, since they have to do the driving of each segment exactly once themselves to add it to the run

I feel like the reason why this is unoptimized may be because the TAS doesn't have save states and the dude had to run the entire thing again every time he wanted to put in a new command or movement, which would make trial and error late into the run take ages

It would be cool if there was an event where a bunch of TAS makers are given a puzzle map and an hour. Minute 0 they get basic motion. By minute 5 racing lines start to form. By the end of the hour get to see it performing very dangerous looking lines.

Deterministic physics is not the same as no randomness. PRNGs are deterministic, and this is why TAS for some games like FF1 or Pokemon can utterly break them, but the inconsistency and randomness of human input is what makes them actually random to us, TM included.
