Have been looking at ATC for a while. After experiencing your enthusiasm I've now ordered a pair of SCM50 ASL to review at home. REALLY looking forward to that😁😁

I heard the 50s this weekend at RMAF and I can say they were some of the best sounding speakers at the show at any price!

I heard them today in a mastering studio. I expected huge bass due to their size and bass drive, but no, they were vey balanced and natural. Really awesome. Unfortunatelly way above my budget.

ATC really is incredible. I have mixed on the systems with matched subs. SCM110ASLs and a pair of custom subs to be exact. And they really are insanely good. So very neutral, and the soundstage is incredible. Paired with the subs, the low end is incredibly tight, and will absolutely knock your socks off. But it’s not “inaccurate” and overly aggressive or boomy.

Hey Streaky, Hey guys. Love your content. When you had the ATC SCM150's did you paired them with your sub or atc's? I'm askin because If i'm reading the specs correctly the 150's go lower then their own actual subwoofer. Thanks.

Thanks for the awesome reviews! Have you ever reviewed the Barefoot mm45 by any chance?

Have you any chance listened to the Tannoy FSM? Any idea how they compare to ATC speakers?

ATC have always been famous for the midrange qualities and are used in a lot of media studios but I'm mainly mastering hip hop and I won't be changing my PMC set up in the future.

ATC SCM 50 asl pro user here. There's a dial in the back that lets you add up to 6 dB of gain around 40 Hz. Instantly that will give you that "missing" bass that other speaker manufacturers provide as standard. I do prefer that dial in the flat position though, but this is up to anyone's taste really (and how great is it to have that option!).

Had an ATC system in a Studio I once worked in. It makes sense what you said lol its true just so pleasant to listen to them. Although we had a stack, so witch another 15" I think below for the low lows. Man I miss them now...

Which of these and Kii Three’s do you prefer and why? also, did you have these 150s flush mounted or free standing?

I'm lucky enough to have the 50ASLTs and although these are home HiFi speakers, they are incredible and unbelievably immersive. The bass is tight yet huge and the mid, well you said it in your review. There is no BS, what you hear is how the track was mastered. I love them

I know ATC, they had that huge dance hit "All Around The World" in 2000.

So they get the same tweeters and midrange drivers in the smaller 25?

  • @ac81017

How do they compare against say Tannoy FSM or JBL 444X series???

Streaky, the smaller ATCs are just as fantastic, but they're suitable more for mixing than mastering! Being in UK can't believe you never listened to the ATCs by now. Keep the 150s, you'll never regret it! Cheers!
