    I saw the finished piece in a google image search of “ceramic bong” and got chills. This is so beautiful! I had to come to the video to tell you how pretty I thought it was.

    Great Pot! Where do you buy the glass downstrem and how do you get it to seal to the ceramic?

      Thank you! I buy the down stems on Amazon and I put a rubber o-ring around it so it has a perfect seal but can still be removed to clean 😊

    My silicone bong just had a really bad tear
    And I'm taking a ceramics course. So I know what I'm making if not for the end of the semester certainly for myself

    What glaze did you use? Is it completely functional? I don't know what glaze to use considering I assume it should be food safe (as jn water safe???)

      This glaze is called Snow by Amaco! It’s totally food safe and functional 😊

    hey what exact o-ring and downstem do you use and how do you get the o-ring to stick in the downstem neck, im trying to make my own bongs

      Hey! I buy my down stems on Amazon, they’re pretty generic so I just went for whatever’s inexpensive. The o-rings I buy from the hardware store. Use a shrinkage ruler to determine how big you need to make the opening of your bong in order for the down stem to fit after clay shrinkage! 😊

      We get most of our tools from Tuckers Pottery Supplies or Amaranth Stoneware! :)

    Love the glaze you guys used! What did you use for the white speckle?

      Thank you so much! It’s just regular white glaze over a speckled clay! There are lots of different speckled clays, but this one is called white speckle 😊

    How well do they do when it’s time to clean the bong

      They do fine! It’s the same process as cleaning glass bongs, but the slightly annoying thing is not being able to see inside. I just clean more often to stay on top of it 😊

    Question: how do I add glaze inside so water doesn't ruin it in use?

      I used a dipping glaze, but instead of dipping I use a cup to pour it inside and then dump the excess back into the glaze bucket 😊

      @@shaunkingkgttoatyerrdvhjus6850 absolutely! Glaze turns to glass after fired so there will be no leaking or absorption if you coat the inside with dipping glaze. And it will be just as easy to clean and care for as any other bong ☺️

      It’s glaze! It’s a dipping glaze, so I poured it in to coat the inside. Once fired, it has a glass like coating to keep it protected and leak free 🙂

    Does it matter what type of clay is used and what seal did you dip it in?

      Use any food safe clay and just keep in mind it’s shrinkage rate when making the stem for the down stem to fit in! And this one is glazed with a white glaze called snow 😊

      I use the blowtorch to dry my piece a bit so it doesn't warp when I pull it off the wheel :)

    Nice concise vid. I liked how you showed application of wax/latex to retard the drying of the stem. What did you factors did you consider on deciding what diameter to make the stem?

      Thank you so so much! For the stem hole, I measured the circumference of my glass downstem and then used a shrinkage calculator to find out how big I needed to make the stem for the glass piece to fit after shrinkage 😊

      I fit them with a glass down stem after bud! That’s why I take the time to size the hole precisely 😁❤️

      @@hoax4312 haha no no, definitely using a down stem 😊 I did make one bong with a built in down stem, and it was beautiful, but very hard to clean 😖 so now I use the removable ones.
