Thank you! Finally! Someone who explains microneedling properly. I have been doing microneedling before anyone knew THIS (using the roller) even existed so I'm watching other TH-cam videos and thinking 'Yep, know this' but you have done a brilliant video. Best I've seen. I never thought about different speeds. Subscribing!
I just came across your page for the first time. I have a skincare obsession. I bought my dr. Pen almost a year ago and haven’t used it yet. So happy I found your video
My husband uses the Banisher, a dermastamp that saved his skin and lightened his scars. People saw a big difference after a few weeks of using it. He's consistently using it for 5 yrs now. Fast forward to today.. he's still using it regularly without the fuss and need for high maintenance
@@TheHappyHomesteadingHerbalist my husband replaces it after 8 to 10 uses when he was using it weekly for acne scars and melasma Now he replaces it after 12th use since he's just using it once a month so its like buying a stamper that he will use once a year. He is just using it for skin maintenance ☺️
She's had other pictures as well. Which isn't a problem, but important to understand that it's not just micro needling. Whatever someone chooses to do is their own business, but somehow the rest of the world loves to be up in everyone else's business.
Please do not touch your face with your bare hands after creating controlled trauma all over your skin. If you need to reapply serum, please use a sanitized tool like a brush or spatula. Use disposable gloves. She used alcohol wipes and then touched her face with her hands and then touched her hair, hand towel and counter top with her bare hands and then kept touching her face where she just created open wounds. That is cross contamination and and not sanitary.

Thank you so much for this video! It really answers all of the issues and questions for anyone looking to start microneedling. I have the Dr Pen but I haven't used it in a while. I need to go back to using it because it made such a difference. I've gotten many microneedling sessions done at dermatologists and plastic surgeons offices. I much prefer at home treatments. I could go slower and work my way up. My downtime with at home treatment is 2-3 days and far less painful. Sure the doctor's office treatment works better but it was so painful I was ready to cry. And my skin was torn up looking for over a week. I'd rather do less aggressive monthly at home treatments than 3-4 a year in an office. Not only is it less painful and less downtime at home but it's far cheaper too.

Fantastic video. Thank you. I just have one more question. My needling machine came with several different tips. 11, 16, 24, 36 40 and Nano. I am really confused fire to use them and how they relate to the speed ad depth.
Well it looks like it works for her without any gloves . Her skin is really awesome .Some use gloves but some are not really OK with those rubber gloves that touches your wounded skin. As I read comments here some call her fool and some say she's not doing it right when it comes to cleanliness. Dang! It's how it works for her so if people want to do it the other way then so be it. Some use tropical anesthesia and some don't. So they can do it the way that works for them. We should stop using ugly words just to prove we are right . Just saying.
I agree. Many of us would have instantly better looking faces and fewer undesirable creases and wrinkles if we just got rid of the vitriol and negativity.
She doesn’t need gloves! First of all, she’s the only one touching her own skin! And if she had gloves on, and still touched other items, and then touched her face, it would be the same thing! 😂 The glove comments are fkn ridiculous.

What is the scientific basis for this, given that the maximum full thickness of skin on the face (chin or cheek) is 1.5 mm? Thanks for the tutorial and suggestions. I'm 55 and my skin is just beginning to sag a bit under the neck, so I'm on a journey of health and wellness, including strength training. Looking at your side profile I figured you'd had some type of facelift done, simply because it looks "pulled back" and the hairline looks "tight - or taut". Anyway the video helps a looot to many women who have no idea what a microneedling looks like
A few tips/suggestions: -It’s really important to be wearing gloves during this entire process. You mentioned your face was sterile but as soon as you touched the HA bottle and then rubbed it into your face with your bare fingers it had the potential to transfer bacteria. Thus your face is no longer sterile. Even more dangerous was when you added more HA to your face after micro needling with your bare fingers and when you were using your fingers to pull up your eyebrows. It can cause an infection and is unsanitary. -Sterile saline solution (can get it at any drug store) is also an effective gliding medium and much cheaper than HA and likely more safe since it’s sterile. That being said your skin is beautiful and glowing!
Thank you so much for the suggestions! I did spray down the entire area as well as any tools used with a 99% alcohol solution I have in a little spray bottle. I should have shown that. But you are 100% correct in every detail of how this could still go wrong in terms of infection. I'll take all of your suggestions Saba! Thank you! Have a wonderful day!
Haha im one of those that have bought the device but im too scared to use it. Mostly because I did a microneedling treatment at a girls house (she was certified) and my acne flared up like never before 😪 my skin is so good right now so I dont wanna jinx it, I have hyperpigmentation and it is really bugging me
Hi Roxana! you are not alone. A lot of people get the device and then they are afraid to use it. I would do a spot treatment on the hyperpigmentation so you can test if it would affect your acne and if it would improve your hyperpigmentation.
Hi. You look great! Do you worry about possible infection using your hands to rub the serum? I only ask because I just did this and used my hands and I'm freaking out a little
No, I'm pretty good about disinfecting myself and area prior to treatment. Remember the needles are already sterile.Just spray your area and your hands with alcohol.
I wear gloves so do a lot of people if you’re going deep because that’s what infection can really start it and then only use one hand for the HOA and that’s it don’t cross contaminate by touching the pen
@@pambaughman1579 I have mix of ice pick, round, box like scars on my face. I purchased dermastamp for microneedling. Can we use Retinol/Tretinoin, Vit c, Hyaluronic acid, Glycolic acid, icing, collagen supplement etc. next day onwards after dermarolling/microneedling? I did self Dr pen before then a month later I had a Dermapen treatment at a clinic. Wow, that was a big difference, don’t do it by yourself you are most likely damage your skin later.
Has anyone ever tried using vitamin A or E with the needle? This video is giving me the courage to use mine for the first time. 😂 when I was a kid I’d take my moms vitamin A and E capsule and use as a moisturizer while my brothers suffered from serious acne I had none.. I’m 62 now and look like I’m in my late 40’s /early 50 … whether it’s from using the oils as a kid and genetics, I’m grateful - now to brave the micro needles which I haven’t been able to do until this video. And I do take collagen. Thank you!
Just have a few drinks then just do it. You can do this. That's how I'm doing it next because it hurts so bad and makes me sneeze whenever i do my 11's. ( angry lines)
The faster the pen the deeper the needles go due to momentum. It's better to use saline solution instead of HLA duriing needling because you don't want to drive any compounds into your dermis -- Use HLA after and only high molecular weight HLA.
Why not use peptides and antioxidants and strums that are known to plump and nourish or disolve brown spots or cancel out skin imperfections while your micro needling into the skin which needs to be more than .25 but you can adjust in your placement !
Could you tell me when you use the Nano and 36 needles? I just got the M8 and I am excited to use it. I love your video - very informative and you don't look a day over 30.
Not quite agreeing with the needle depth and speed. Does not matter the speed the needle will still penetrate the skin on a depth of 0.5 the difference is the macro channels. The faster the speed doesn't matter the depth, the closer the micro channels. Qualified Aesthetic Therapist.
As a retired tattoo artist, this really concerns me because this is tattooing your face only using serums instead of pigment. Goes as deep as a tattoo as well-between the dermis and epidermis. Don't know how many needles are in that but looks like a 14 needle round shader we'd use. Very easy to turn your skin into hamburger if you don't know what you're doing and do too many passes over the same area. And I wonder how well it works with numbing cream. Using that for a tattoo slows down healing because the skin doesn't know it's being traumatised. I would not use ANY makeup for 2 weeks. This is not a wise idea for home use. Your skin is prone to infection after this until it's fully healed...look up infected tattoos...that's what you're opening yourself up to with this.
I agree with this comment. I think she should be using a 12 needle and pass it 5 spins at a time over a spot. Also I notice that she barely takes the needling off her skin, and she revisits a spot too much.
@@fearless6947 has she served an apprenticeship with a professional tattoo artist? Seeing how many time she's going over the same area I'd say definitely not better knowledge than a professional tattoo artist. And that's just the first of many issues I see that can lead to serious issues with what she's doing here.
Your video is a lifesaver! I have acne and patches on my face. The last time i got treatment cleared it up but, it’s back again and worse on my nose like a strawberry 🍓 Micro-needling is a blessing and I now know how to do it 😊 Thank you for sharing!
Do not do this! The needles bend and get dull. But the most important reason is that you need the needles to be sterile, and you can't get a used needle sterile with just rubbing alcohol. Just wait until you can purchase more needle heads to start your treatment. Also you should only do this 4 to 6 weeks apart or you will interrupt the healing process.
@@bhq7000.5 should be done once every 4-6 weeks, according to dermatologists (this is the time it takes for the area to microscopically heal and for tissue turnover.
What a great video. I will be purchasing the M8. Just one question, how long do you wait to go back to your daily/nightly regimen? I use retinoid twice a week and peptides nightly/daily along with my serums, including collagen serums.

Microneedling is the procedure. Dr Pen is just one of the many companies that sells the microneedling pens. There are other companies that sell their version of a pen. But the procedure is called microneedling. There is another procedure called nano needling where you can use the same pen but you use a different cartridge which does not contain real needles. It just contains many stainless steel raised bumps. The nano needling it does not penetrate or break the skin. It just goes onto your skin's surface just enough so that products can penetrate. And the nano needling is more for beginners and more for sensitive skins. It is also for someone who is just starting out and do not want to hurt themselves. With more experience of nano needling, you may want to then do the micro needling. But the same pen can be used for micro or nano. You just have to buy the different cartridges.
Thank you for making this video! I've watched many about microneedling and you do the best job explaining each step by far! I now feel comfortable giving this a try. Also, what depth was the needle you used on your neck? Thank you!

@@marshalavrich9610 I don't use anything. Leave the hyaluronic acid on with the little bit of blood for as long as you can. Then rinse with warm water and pat dry. Hi there, i just got my microneedling device and im a bit worried about sanitization. @@alzbetaressnerova7930 thanks for your input. Indeed desinfecting your hand is a must, but could applying HA before microneedling be risky since its not sterile?
Girl, we don't stop producing collagen at the age of 25, we just start producing a little less of it each year, normally after we enter the 30s
That's what I said. And when your body completely stops Producing it, adding Anything to increase something to what ia not there
will not help

A few tips/suggestions:
-It’s really important to be wearing gloves during this entire process.

Hi Darnell I just found your channel and loving it, thank you for the educational videos!

I have mix of ice pick, round, box like scars on my face.
I purchased dermastamp for microneedling.
What should be used:
1. before stamping to clean dermaroller/dermastamp and face?
2. same day on face after stamping/microneedling session?
3. next day onwards after the stamping/microneedling session?
4. Can we use Retinol/Tretinoin, Vit c, Hyaluronic acid, Glycolic acid, icing, collagen supplement etc. next day onwards after dermarolling/microneedling?
Please recommend generic products instead of something that I can get only with a certain brand.
You can suggest the brand along with the generic product.
Thanks in advance (:
You've convinced me to buy Drpen M8, detailed instructions with safety measures to adhere too. I'm not used to watching online videos and have trouble finding your link to products you're using, instructions please.
And a BIG thank you from Sheilah.
Please, think about it.
This is for professionals.Dont do it yourself
I did self Dr pen before then a month later I had a Dermapen treatment at a clinic.
Wow, that was a big difference, don’t do it by yourself you are most likely damage your skin later.
Heard its better to do the dr pen my dabbing on and off each time rather than circular motion
Thank you!
You are already 10-20 years younger than your actual age, do you want to turn yourself into a teenager again ?
I've read SPECIFICALLY don't use vitamins while needling.
@@recuerdos2457 LOL!!! 😂 thanks.
Just have a few drinks then just do it. You can do this. That's how I'm doing it next because it hurts so bad and makes me sneeze whenever i do my 11's. ( angry lines)
Have you tried Emu oil for post treatment healing?
This was a fantastic to watch. Very educational 😊
I’m 71 and have acne scars [which I hate} will this help an old grandma like me?
Yes, it should help fade the acne scars.
that's me! I bought one several months ago, haven't used it yet. lol
you look amazing
The faster the pen the deeper the needles go due to momentum. It's better to use saline solution instead of HLA duriing needling because you don't want to drive any compounds into your dermis -- Use HLA after and only high molecular weight HLA.
Great page, you look amazing! When can I go back to Cosmetic Needeling after I have done a Medical microneedle treatment?
Why not use peptides and antioxidants and strums that are known to plump and nourish or disolve brown spots or cancel out skin imperfections while your micro needling into the skin which needs to be more than .25 but you can adjust in your placement !
wise idea to review the concepts of the inventor Dr Des Fernandes
Can you name a few please?
You should only use a .25 depth to microneedle in the Serum any deeper and you have to wait a couple days before you add serum

I don’t think we completely stop producing call Janette 25. I think it just decreases.
True... I meant we stop producing the amount of collagen. It decreases significantly beginning in our 20's. But it doesn't stop.

Hooray! Welcome to my channel. Please tell your friends. It's wash, numbing cream, wash, alcohol wipe, slip gel. Great question! :))

Very valued comment. I would think to start with nano needling would be a safer approach.
I think Gin Amber has better knowledge
@@fearless6947 has she served an apprenticeship with a professional tattoo artist? Seeing how many time she's going over the same area I'd say definitely not better knowledge than a professional tattoo artist. And that's just the first of many issues I see that can lead to serious issues with what she's doing here.
@@Coasterdude02149 yeah I agree

surely you don't need to switch the cartage after each use right? All i have is two and just planned to switch after a month
@@audity4201 I'm doing 0.5mm 2 times a week currently for my beard area
@@bhq7000.5 should be done once every 4-6 weeks, according to dermatologists (this is the time it takes for the area to microscopically heal and for tissue turnover.
What a great video. I will be purchasing the M8. Just one question, how long do you wait to go back to your daily/nightly regimen? I use retinoid twice a week and peptides nightly/daily along with my serums, including collagen serums.
I usually wait at least 1 week, but it depends on how quickly you heal.

Hi thank you for this microneeding procedure. Very much appreciated. May I ask have you had any other treatments.
Stay safe and well beautiful lady ❤️
thousands! hahah. (joking... kind of). I film EVERYTHING I do on post it on this channel. Literally everything! So take some time and browse around the playlists. xoxo
what is the difference between microneedling and dermapen? french here thanks ;)
Thank you very excited to use it. I will be watching you do it as I begin.
Has anyone used the derma pen on the brows to get them fuller?
Thank you for making this video! I've watched many about microneedling and you do the best job explaining each step by far! I now feel comfortable giving this a try. Also, what depth was the needle you used on your neck? Thank you!
I’m so happy it helped! .25

You are so helpful! I love that you said reach out to me and I'll do a treatment with you! Are you still on for that? I want to do one but like you said, I'm afraid, especially if the pain. I think I need to buy numbing cream first, then if you'll do one with me I'd love it!

Can someone please let me know what I use after miconeedle for the first time PLEASE HELP
@@marshalavrich9610 I don't use anything. Leave the hyaluronic acid on with the little bit of blood for as long as you can. Then rinse with warm water and pat dry. Some people put cream or serums, but I don't. I think it increases risk of infection or irritation. It's the microneedling itself that does the work. Hope this helps.

Hi there, i just got my microneedling device and im a bit worried about sanitization. You cleaned your face with alcool, but then you apply the HA with you hand. is there any chance of cross contamination? And the HA isnt sterile either. So Im confused. Is there any risk? Please if anyone could chime in and help me with a good protocol so i dont mess my face and end up in emergency lol Thanks in advance!
well deffinitely desinfect your hands too and the device too! I work in a laboratory and seeing this woman cleaning her face and then touching it with her hands made me twitch.
@@alzbetaressnerova7930 thanks for your input. Indeed desinfecting your hand is a must, but could applying HA before microneedling be risky since its not sterile?
