This video really spoke to me. I appreciate your view on handbag collecting. It’s good to take a break and appreciate what you have in your collection.
THIS. It's important to remember quality doesn't have to always mean going into debt, especially for something as non-essential as a handbag. I once heard someone say you can get great quality leather bags for $500 max. Any higher and you're more likely paying for the brand/status symbol.
It's not easy to think rationally after obsession and addiction😇 and I'm so happy for you to be able to come to this point. I agree that we should enjoy what we have, plus what you have is the top line. Thanks for your thoughts and honesty 💗
Thank you for this thoughts. It’s so brave to say what you said. I didn’t like any of Hermes bags (so I’m safe from expensive losses), but I may like to have Herbag in some bright colors.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and it sounds like you’re devoting your spend to some worthwhile investments! Also your H collection is so classic and versatile! Glad to hear you’re enjoying your bags even more!
i'm guessing 70% of the time, the answer is no. Even non-quota bags are very much in demand, so with the limited stock, most stores will still want to sell them to loyal customers they know have been buying with them a while. However, 30% of the time, if a store has it in stock, they will sell it. For example, in my home store they have a first-come, first-serve policy for Evelyn bags: if they have it in stock, you can walk in and buy it. Same for the Madison avenue store, they will sell you a non-quota bag if they have it in stock. Key phrase here is "if they have it in stock"
Most of the time, no. I was once offered a mini Evelyne as a walk-in but I realize now that that was a very rare occurrence. Recently I went into another boutique and asked for a bag and all they were willing to offer me was one of the silk bags (I forget what it was called but it's like a shoulder bag that looks like it was made out of a silk scarf).
Lots of respect for sharing this. I am “a little bit” older than you (lol i wish) and even though I have also came to the same realization years ago but the Hermes bug is just too powerful. Best wishes and LOVE your collection, btw.
Your store location matters immensely. Try competing in NYC, Beverly Hills, Palm Beach. Be prepared to purchase fine jewellery and furniture. I do not care for the aesthetic of Hermes jewellery. The Hermes aesthetic is cool girl/equestrian/somewhat masculine. My preference in jewellery is classic, feminine and if I wish to have a motif it would be floral. There are much better choices out there.
@@anyaamasova6607 unfortunately I think our boutique is the most competitive in the country. People in Beverly hills and NYC have much easier time scoring bags
Sorry to hear that. Don't know where you are, but wonder if you can travel to another location a lot (like a city a relative lives in, or if you go to hawaii for vacation more than once...)
@luxuryinModeration i think our boutique is the most competitive here in the states. Maybe you will have a good idea of where that might be... lol just ridiculous! I do have to think about hawaii.

yes, so true!
I agree. I was growing tired of the chase and realized that I love what I already have. Enjoy the trinkets and be well.

Glad you said this because I was trying to figure out what colors next, but yes... need to stop the chase and appreciate what I have
I still try my best every day to do that 😅
Happy for you. You look so much more at peace now. It really suits you. 😘

For non-quota bags can you just walk in and ask will you get it?

So refreshing to hear, congrats on the new home ☺️
Well spent money. There is always next year for bags!
Our SA won't give you a quota bag unless we spend 5:1..... it sucks to have to shop in a competitive store!!!! I wish this reality for us was fake!!!!

Totally agree! i love more feminine floral shapes too!
