Thrilled to see my daddy during his party days at a George Jones concert, happy and enjoying himself at frame 1:11 - stripped shirt and he stands up. What a gift to find after all these years. We lost him to alcoholism back in 2001 at the age of 50.
I LIKE HOW RON SAYS ARE THE OUTLAWS HE ADDS A LITTLE TWANG AND RYTHEM I CANT STOP LISTENIN IM ADDICTED TO THIS SONG HERE GOD BLESS GEORGE JONES ONE DAY ILL BE UP THERE SINGIN WITH YOU IN HEAVEN :)
George Jones is the best there will ever be. I would love to hear that hottie, Ron Gaddis sing some of George's songs. He was with George so long that he is able to phrase just like George. Would love to see and hear him do a tribute to George.
Hi love, this song so much I can’t help it. I Listen to it over and over and over. I wish I could have met George Jones ;he has such a good personality, I wish I could’ve met him in life !
You just... can't beat it. Not only is George STILL the best to this day (rest in peace, Possum) but he also had the best partner (I can't call Ron just a backup singer because he was much more than that). No one could do better if they tried.
Thanks! I just listened to it after reading this, Ron is such a talented singer and has somewhat of a similar vocal style as George Jones. I'll have to let my dad hear that. I really would love to see Ron make it big, he's such a talented artist.
This was back in 1993 at the Knoxville civic center I was at this concert I met Ron and George after the show got a lot of pictures with the possum that night. I even attended the memorial service for George
I remember when this show was on tv, I used to have such a crush on the base player Ron, sure will miss George, glad I found these videos, thanks for uploading.
Sharon, at height of his career with the George Jones Band, Ron was battling alcoholism and in the end was missing during most of George Jones concert's. George and Nancy tried to help him, but in the end they had to let him go with the hopes he'd recover with the much needed time off. Ron tried making a comeback with a solo career, but he didn't succeed without George and don't think Ron has made any public appearance since the early 2000's. From what I know, he still battles alcoholism.
Ron Gaddis is his name, he's a fantastic singer who unfortunately was fired from the George Jones Band and later on tried to make a comeback with a solo career, unfortunately he just couldn't make a name for himself as a solo act without George Jones. I've never met Ron, but my dad spent a lot of time with him and the band at the bars after a George Jones concert and my dad said he was always the most humble and down to earth guy you could meet.
love this song and i did see them together here in Bathurst NB back in 1997,George was right in his prime then and to this day id walk 10 miles to see him in concert
@sharon30512 His last name is Gaddis. He also sang 'Love is where the hurt is' and 'If the red leaves the roses'. Of all the artists George performed this song with, this one is my favorite. You just can't beat Rons voice.
I think it would be better to go to a Jones concert where he didn't show than to a concert of most "modern day" country artists where they DID show up.
Tammy had some kinda 'scuse she divorced George Jones. Haha. My favorite version of this song.
JD Herdman mine too. and those guys in the crowd went nuts when he said it lol
My favorite part
Mine to ......

Here in SC , we thought we would drown qirh all the rain! Thanks for sharing...Any Conway fans? Just finished listening to him
Here with ya!
Who else could make a great country song, about a star that don't show up for his own concerts. You were great George Jones.

I've always enjoyed that short clip of him raising his hands in celebration of that line! I;ve watched this concert at least 50 times!
6 years ago today we lost the greatest entertainer who ever lived. We will never forget you possum.
Mr Jones you are missed and loved by so many. You wouldn’t believe it yourself. Young and old. Thanks for the ride.

Thank you again, for telling me about that. My dad will love to listen to Ron's tribute to George and know that Ron is still around and singing.

Wow greatest classic hit song A plus.

George Jones Live in Tennessee - Knoxville Tn. May 21, 1993. Google George Jones Live in Tennessee. Available on DVD or VHS.
I just picked up the DVD, it’s great!
The Possum Is still The King !!!
Not sure exactly but the dvd has a copyright date of 1993. It is available on amazon if you are interested, it was a great show.

That's Ron Gaddis.. Great singer
My God Ron Gaddis is gorgeous. He is as sexy as they come. Lord have mercy. And he can sing too.
thats awesome you get to see you're daddy enjoying himself
I could be wrong but he sings a song called "Possum Holler". It's about a place he would go when he was young. Like "makeout point"...
Your Daddy knew a good act when it came to town!
Tammy had some kind of excuse, she divorced George Jones!
with a standing ovation
It was no excuse she left George because she finsly got tired of him drinking and beating on her constsantly get yiur imformstion straight
Jonas u don't know so stop blaming Tammy it was not her it was him George was a very violent drunk
And George probably went to his grave never forgetting ehst he did to Tammy when all she ever did was love him thsts the real truth
its one thing to be called no show jones but to turn it into a money maker takes talent........
The guy at 0:33 was having a ball man!!!
My favourite part! 👍
Thank You so much I have looked and looked forever it seems. now maybe i can find something out.

RIP RON
The best ever

His back up singer is great.. What is his name...
Ron
Ron Gaddis. Yes, he is incredible. Thought he would make it on his own but I guess he had some demons of his own to deal with.
Thanks.. He seems to have had some substance abuse problems... Not got George Jones' talent, but enough of his own...
Nicholas Yaekle He had to battle that mullet demon.
GOD BLESS YOU WILL BE MISSED
When my mans George placed his hands on his hips and mocked her 😆
fabulous!
I think his voice was as its prime at this time...Anyone know how old he was at this time?
BRING BACK THE MULLET!
The Possum.
