Doris Poggi. Wow you are straight on I just heard some famous song writers say that this song and GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN WERE MOST LIKELY THE 2 GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. SMART LADY. PEACE !!!!!
George Jones is a "ONE OFF" this man could sing the telephone directory and make you cry your eyes out. If only Country music was still like this today, but as history repeats itself one day it will get back what it has lost.

This song reminds me of my moms 2nd marriage!...Was a major blow to my mental health ! The guy was a Gem still is,....there for I cry every time I hear this song!..very sad😥😊
I saw him In concert 21 years ago on his farewell to Canada tour, as fan since I was 5 it was truly epic to see him preform live. RIP George and thanks for the music and memories through the years.
The clos-ups show the angst, sadness, and a glimmer of what's yet to come on his face and in his eyes. Could see and hear the emotion he was feeling in this live performance.... Awesome.
l agree with you, indeed George Jones is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days.
l agree with you, indeed George Jones is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days.
I saw an interview with George who said he initially refused to record this song because he thought it was too sad and people wouldn't want to hear it....A big THANKS goes to the individual who convinced him so we have this forever now.
I grew up listening to this wonderful man, I am always in awe of what he can do with that beautiful voice. This is what country music was; the cookie cutter junk of today is not country. God bless George Jones, there will NEVER be anyone that can fill his shoes.
I never listened to country music and didn't know George Jones. The first time watching this clip I liked this song very much and thought it was a happy song. I thought, good for him, he's finally over that woman. But after listening better to the song the second time; Goosebumps all over. This is one killer song.
RIP George Jones ♡ It was a Honor To Meet You Years Ago With My Father George . He Would Listen to Your Music and Cry his Heart Out Over My Moma , and this was his Favorite. Miss you George ♡

This song is the epitome of George Jones. They threw away the mold. The best ever in REAL country music. George, you sure paid your dues in this life. I hope you are resting peacefully in Heaven. Singing in the choir with Hank and the boys. RIP forever.
When I was a teenager, I thought ‘old school’ twangy, corny country was about the least cool thing you could listen to. I’d grown up on deep roots delta blues, which isn’t that far…but country seemed so ‘hillbilly’. Always stating the obvious, dichotomous standards of being true and loyal vs infidelity and two-timing up one side and down the middle. Then the new wave of country came in, and it was somehow more “real” to me. When I heard all the new bloods saying over and over how George Jones was their favorite, or most inspirational, I started listening to his older stuff. Wow! Sometimes, a few years gives you a whole different perspective. This song, and George’s rendition, is pretty much untouchable. His voice lends itself completely to the wail of unrequited love. He had his demons, and his personality that often made things difficult in his private life. But stand the ol’ Possum on stage, and he delivered every time. Flawlessly.💕
This was played at my friend and neighbor Lloyd’s funeral for his wife Helen. He was such a George Jones fan. God Bless You Lloyd. We miss you....🌹🙏🏻❤️😁😘
I listened to this song, when I was young and country was un-cool, thought it was corney, but then I got older matured, and really listened tot he song, and learned about real love, devotion...
I still get goosepimples on my arms when I listen to George Jones sing he was one of a kind when God made him he threw the mold away.god how we miss you glad for all the years of the best country music you made for us.
l agree with you, indeed George Jones is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days.
I think of how nice George always looked - no matter where he was doing his concerts. That means a lot to me when I want to see any artist in person. I like to see them looking their best along with enjoying their special musical talent. It's wonderful that he finally had a good change in his life and he and his wife Nancy became one of Nashville's royal couples. How great to know that we had a truly talented country artist with us for many years.
Phyllis McMullen. He's messing up lil lady I hope he wakes up for your sake because nothing hurts worse than a broken heart I know I have lived it for a long time and IT does get better with time trust me I wish you the very best of life and may God bless you lil lady !!!! Peace

Truly epic performance - a legend in his lifetime with incredible songs. No literally part of his hit 'Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes' gone to join Johnny Cash, Conway, & Waylon in the Opry in the Sky. R.I.P
