Thanks. You nailed it once again. Small diameter bar ends and shorter cranks are crucial.

Thanks for telling us “the best” . Sometimes reviewers offer a price range of bikes in the size range where as if you are looking for “the best” the list is shortened to 1 or 2 bikes. It’s important to list all price ranges ,of course, but it’s extremely helpful to have a list in each category instead of all price ranges lumped together. Straight forward excellent video that I have recommended to many parents.

Great Video! Thank you for the work you put into this. I am trying to decide between Woom Original and Prevelo Alpha for my kids. Ages are 2, 5 and 10. I know both brands/models are terrific, but do you guys think one is slightly better than the other or maybe for a particular age/size. Thank you for any advice.

I just bought a Woom 2 14 inch wheel for 3yr old grand daughter and put freewheel on it. As she is coasting with feet off pedals (for fun) the cranks and pedals continue to rotate and hit her legs. Is this normal for a freewheel? It did not do that when the coaster brake wheel was on.
On my trek fx 6 1x11 gear bike, if I take my feet off pedals the cranks/pedals don't rotate as her Woom 2 with freewheel does.

Your chain tension could be too tight. Adjust the rear wheel.

Can you recommend a training wheel kit that will work with the WOOM 2 with the funky rear dropout and Allen key hub hardware?

Sorry. We say no to training wheels unless there are physical limitations. Have you tried taking the pedals off and using it as a balance bike?

My kid won’t even sit on the bike without the pedals.

      @@jeffkashat4625 try bribing them?
Here are some tips to help him learn. You can try to put it on a bike trainer? You need to be able to balance a bike more than pedal a bike to learn how to ride.

Thoughts on the Segway Ninebot 14 inch bike? Seems like a lot of thought put into similar features for a much lower cost.

Heavy as well, the Forth Park 14 is a good compromise between price and weight

Hey man. Have a 3yr old who's been ripping around the neighborhood and local bike park dirt trails on his balance bike for a year now. He's definitely ready to transition but I'm trying to decide if I should shell out the money for a prevelo alpha one or similar (that he'll prob only use for a year) or wait a little and put him right on a 16in. He's right at 15in inseam and I want to get him something he can ride on and off road (ie prevelo, park, etc) vice the more upright riding position of woom or guardian. Thoughts?

The alpha one is a really great starting pedal bike for a little shredder who loves singletrack on their balance bike. Sizes are tough, a bike that is too big can stall confidence and progression. Inseam min. And max are provided to really set kids up for success

I'm having a hard time choosing between the 16in guardian and woom bikes for my daughter's fourth birthday present.

Both are awesome bikes. Where are you going to ride the bike the most?

@@TheBikeDadsthese are the two I’m torn between for my sons 4th birthday too! We will mostly be riding around the neighborhood and on paved paths. My son isn’t a master at the balance bike yet - he’s extremely timid and i epically failed at getting him outside more at a younger age.
