Personally Dave Casper is my number one tight end of all time. I would take him on my team over any other tight end.

Great hands, tough as nails, I was in the stadium for the Ghost To The Post, watching on TV was not like in person, you could see the play opening up from the beginning, I will never forget that!

Casper was such a tough, hard nosed bad ass. Those raider teams were hard chargers and fun AF to watch. The two most underrated TEs ever to play imo were Casper and Bavarro.
Both golden domers and outstanding blockers. Giants were ball control team. On a passing team Bavaro would have caught many more. But what he did catch were clutch and impactful
Casper the friendly ghost. Wow I will never forget ghost to the post. I was watching with my step-dad in Southern California. The snake was so cool to get the ball to casper!!!

In college he played under Parseghian at Norte Dame and was the 1973 championship teams best offensive player. He remarked that Casper was the best athlete he ever coached

Mike Silver just says dumb stuff. In an era when TEs were an afterthought..... Ditka, Mackey, Charlie Sanders, Jerry Smith, Jackie Smith, Ted Kwalick, Bob Tucker, Ron Kramer, Bob Trumpy, Raymond Chester.
All of these guys were stars in the NFL before Casper played a snap.

I didn't watch this show, so I have no clue who 8 other TE's are that are rated higher. Casper is at least in the top 3 all time, especially considering how clutch he was in big games.
He cared about his blocking. Hats (or helmets) off to tight ends with all round ability and toughness, who do the gritty work not just go for glory
In college he was recruited as a tackle and I guess at some point they moved him to tight end.
Many don't know but he was originally an offensive lineman at Notre Dame before becoming a tight end. That is why he is a great blocking tight end.
How can he be #9? Should be more like 1 or 2! He was the BEST!

I wish we could find a way to get Walford involved like Casper was. He's got a similar skill set and it would be magnificent to have a game-changing tight end again.

Raiders had Casper then Christensen...two of the best tight ends to ever play the game.
Please do not Forget tbe Great Raymond Chester as well. Although he played at Baltimore earlier in his career.

Dave Casper gave Raider fans a lot of thrills, but he also was "The Big Miss" by no fault of his own. He sat on the bench for his first 2 seasons. Coaching error there. And if he would've stayed with the Raiders he would've got to play with Jim Plunkett. I'm grateful to have seen The Ghost to the Post game. Wholy Roller play was rubbish.

Yeah how is Witten ahead of Casper and Gronk? I get it Witten is arguably one of the most consistent TEs but ahead of Super Bowl winners? No I don't accept that.

Gronk has only one season that he caught 90 passes...and has only been available for two full seasons worth of games in his career......Witten holds the single season reception record for TE's...went over 90 receptions 3 more times beside that...and has only missed ONE game in 14 seasons......Witten over Gronk any day
