I first learned about Billy Mure (sometimes spelled Muir) when digging up info on who played lead guitar on Don Rondo's #7 pop hit of "White Silver Sands." Turned out to be Mure. I later did hear "Supersonic Guitar", but had no idea till I read your TH-cam blurb that all these superstars were sidemen on the recording.
Mure is also the famous guitar part in Marty Robbins "A White Sport Coat". He's also in this tune from my channel: th-cam.com/video/Gx4KxzWzt-8/w-d-xo.html
@@mutleybird That's great! Thanks. The reason I asked about the player is that I thought it might have been George Barnes. d about the player is that I thought it might have been George Barnes, who I believe was also active in NY at that time. Their playing has some things in common.
Indeed he did. His steel playing is impressive as well. Another multitracker, Jorgan Ingman of "Apache" fame had some good ones although they are more "euro-centric" which given his country makes sense.
Les Paul just invented the idea and technique. Paul mostly multitracked himself, while Mure is using top NY session musicians that can easily read complicated charts.
WOW!
Love that 6 string bass work
I miss you my Sweetheart..have fun playing 'up there'
'with the other greats.....
Chrysler's 1963 Gas Turbine car. One of only 50 produced. Love it!
There was one in Columbus Ohio. I saw it a couple of times. Fantastically cool.
@@roytee3127 I saw one in Washington DC in 64 and Jay Leno owns one. All the guitarists playing are from NJ. Me too! Thanks for remembering!

Rest In Peace Billy
Great stuff. I will explore Billy Mure now. Nice looking car, too, but it looks like it’s about to take off from the track with that big flat design!

Fantastisch.
thank you for this ~
No problem. Glad you liked one of my videos.
not to quote Borrat but "VERY NICE!"
It's on his MGM LP of that name.
One of my favorite thrift shop scores.
Buddy Merrill kicked some ass too. :)
Great TH-cam find Bill Mure I’m of to iTunes. I believe you should pay for your music.
Why would you want to give Apple your money lol I don’t even pay taxes.
😊
Is that car a Chrysler Turbine?
Shows Les Paul wasn't the only one who could multi-track.
He actually had multiple guitars charted out and all playing at the same time while recording
Wow! But just how do you chart this kind of playing?!@@aumbonda
@@Jon-nt8sx I think this is where I read about it; tims.blackcat.nl/messages/billy_mure.htm
