When I worked for the Laskys retail hi-fi chain in the mid- to late-70s, we played this quietly but continuously on a very long reel-to-reel tape when our Area Manager, Stuart Bloom, visited our branch. They were using the Rolling Stones mobile recording unit and Stu stopped in. There was an old piano in the main room that was slightly out of tune. Stu was playing it and Jimmy Page was tuning his guitar to how the piano was out of tune. Lead singer Robert Plant played guitar, while guitarist Jimmy Page played mandolin. The lyrics were taken from the Ritchie Valens song "Ooh My Head." Since Valens was dead, his mom was given a composer credit so she would get some royalties. That's why "Mrs. Valens" is listed on the album. The composer credit reads: Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham/Ian Stewart/Mrs. Valens. While "Mrs. Valens" has always been listed as a composer of this song, the Valens estate sued the band in 1979 over the amount of royalties they were owed.
Actually Alex........ My Uncle Nicky Hopkins was considered the 6th Stone. He was a session pianist in London, who worked for, and recorded with countless acts during the 60's 70's 80's. He was affectionally given the nickname "Diamonds and Tiaras" by Keith Richards, as he was always able to add that perfect piano part, but without intruding on the song. He was asked several times to join and he always politely refused. He did tour with the Stones in 1972, but due to health reasons, he never toured again after that. He was also asked to join many other bands of the 60's, including The Faces, The Kinks, The Who and even Led Zeppelin. All of what am saying here can be easily confirmed online. I grew up in this world as a child, and spent a lot of time with all of the artists I mentioned above, and too many others to name here as well.
Having been raised catholic I have always viewed Zeppelin as part of the Holy Trinity. Father (Greatful Dead) Son (Led Zeppelin) Holy Spirit (Pink Floyd). I have always lived my life with this in mind and it has rocked!
I always thought they were goofing off or missing around on this song . They experimented with every style of music . Glad I got to grow up with their music .
PS/ Recently purchased LZ's, "Physical Graffiti" [ 1 of 2 ] with "Boogie with Stu". Fell in ❤ with it and this...great video!! Watching it, over and over...like many here...at almost 78 y/o...lol. Rock 'n Roll is still a fav, of mine...along with other types of music. Keep-on-a..."Boogie'ing...with Stu", will keep our spirits, young. Laughing, as well...regardless. In good taste, of course. No, 'fuddy-duddy' blah, blah...for this senior. Ha, ha...right?? Thanks for sharing, this...great video!! Best Wishes, ❤❤🎉😀👍🇺🇸
First time I heard this loved it! Real bluesy.. I understand this used as fill in because physical graffiti was a double album... great choice. My mom actually liked the song.. she like blues and rockabilly 😊
Found out the name of this movie: "Asesinos S A". Her name is Kitty de Hoyos ❤️🥰. This scene was edited to fit the LZ song. The fellow is Resortes. 😁 Well I am corrected! The lady dancing in the Cantina is Lisa Rossel! ❤️😘🌹👸
I also mistook the lady dancer for Sylvia Pinal but upon closer inspection it turned out somebody else. The male dancer is the popular comedian "Resortes" which means "springs" in Spanish. He starred in comedies mostly in the 1950's. I have seen most of his movies except this one. Will try to find out the title. That was a pretty good matching of the music and the video.
Ian Stewart aka “Stu” ~ Zeps road manager & shy musician ~ the 6th Rolling Stone ~ is plunking the fabulous keys, here. Roberts voice, Jimmy Pages mandolin and these fantastic dancers !!! A WIN!!! 👯♀️❤❤
The guy dancing is from Mexico, his name was Adalberto Martinez, aptly nicknamed "Resortes" ("Spring-loaded"). He couldn't sing, and was a C-list actor, but boy, he could dance. That's why he appeared in many movies up until 1980. There are movies from the 1940s showing him doing the moonwalk. And the Led Zeppelin (my heroes) song was plagiarized from Ritchie Valens' Ooh my head. If you don't believe me, look it up.
@@variousstuff6469 it is, right? Led Zeppelin "borrowed" many tunes from prior times. They gave them their own spin, but not all LZ song are truly originals.
@@variousstuff6469 Little Richard did a tour of the UK in the early 60's. Jagger and many other Brit rockers traveled with and got "schooled." Check out the PBS video about Little Richard!
Led Zeppelin used a fragment of the Mexican film "Asesinos, S.A.", (1957), between 10 and 14 minutes, inserting their Boogie With Stu. Mexican actors Adalberto Martínez (aka Resortes) and Kitty de Hoyos are dancing.
I carefully scoured the Internet and found in one place a solid mention of two names and, in another place, the name of the film. I found and downloaded the film. Between 10 and 14 minutes they dance to completely different music. And then, as the film progresses, they dance together in the restaurant hall. I don’t know Spanish, but I enjoyed watching the actors play!
Who ever edited this is a sheer genius. Has shades of the movie The Mask Jim Carrey all over it. Priceless. The intro should have covered the filmwork, the dude was legendary. Micheal Jackson ripped this dude off bigtime.
Led Zeppelin is my favorite band ever, and I love how they covered this Richie Valens song, originally titled "Ooh, My Head." Led Zeppelin also covered Jake Holmes's "Dazed and Confused" very well.

Your Uncle was a legend!
@@mariodunn2798 Thank you, and he was a gentle soul as well.
This video brought them back alive I can see everyone involved in producing
Zeppelin and this video !!!! Rock !!❤❤❤❤❤❤ love it ! Bought Zeppelin’s first vinyl album when it came out !
Having been raised catholic I have always viewed Zeppelin as part of the Holy Trinity. Father (Greatful Dead) Son (Led Zeppelin) Holy Spirit (Pink Floyd). I have always lived my life with this in mind and it has rocked!
This is Mexican comedian Resortes dancing with Silvia Pinal.
Excelent choice. Love the song.
Great all around , I wonder what was playing on the jukebox ! lol
Illegal alien
Saludos 👋🏻
I found this from IMDb: Asesinos, S. A., cast: Lisa Rossel (cast Liza Rossell), imaginery dancer
This is incredibly bizarre and I cannot stop looking at it.
As I do when I take off my hat, you make a good point !
love the scene with the song...nice job!
Why can't I stop watching this! fun to watch. Wish I can dance like that.
I know the feeling !
@@jubalcalif9100 Me too!
First time I heard this loved it! Real bluesy.. I understand this used as fill in because physical graffiti was a double album... great choice. My mom actually liked the song.. she like blues and rockabilly 😊
Perfect dance und music 2 👍
Found out the name of this movie: "Asesinos S A". Her name is Kitty de Hoyos ❤️🥰. This scene was edited to fit the LZ song. The fellow is Resortes. 😁 Well I am corrected! The lady dancing in the Cantina is Lisa Rossel! ❤️😘🌹👸
Life would be empty without this band
I don’t know…life was pretty full with the Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Who, of course I saw Zeppelin twice…the only time I caught a glimpse of god😁
Tell Em,!!!! My #1 all time Favorite band...😊
@@Warrenstrong8615 If you need 1to ask. Then maybe this site isn't for you . Here's a quarter kid, Get lost...😅

@@mick9088Lol, now BEAT it, get outta here.
"Here's a quarter, kid". Gosh that's funny. I can't quit laughing, lol.
Who ever she is, she has some pins on her 😳
Actually his final movie was in 2002, he died the next year.
Oh, this is great! Perfect combo. Thanks!
Oh never seen this video before that's f****** awesome
Ian Stewart aka “Stu” ~ Zeps road manager & shy musician ~ the 6th Rolling Stone ~ is plunking the fabulous keys, here. Roberts voice, Jimmy Pages mandolin and these fantastic dancers !!!
A WIN!!! 👯♀️❤❤
❤❤ WOW FUCKIN WOW !!! THIS LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE A DANCE MY MOM AND DAD WERE DOIN, ON THE NIGHT I WAS CONCIEVED !!! THANKS PEOPLE, EXCELLENT !!! ❤❤
I had forgotten about this track. I wasn’t ready for this when it came out and I was 15 y o. These guys were without peer then and forever afterwards
Uno dei più bei video che ho visto in vita mia. Non mi stanca mai, Troppa energia!!!
"How did you know that....???"
Thank you! I was wondering 👍
I think I see Vicente Fernández, standing at the bar .
They did use it? I don't want to repeat lies ha😂
Hilarious! Whoever put this together is a GENIUS
Конечно, классика рока, а какие девочки были в то время. шикарные, натуральные 😁
ес
гуд
Девочка (Сильвия Пиналь) так-то танцует совсем не под эту "классику рока", но наложение музыки на киноплёнку - нормальное получилось!
I want what he's drinking
This movie was in 1957
Great song. I remember this from Ritchie Valens in 1959. Thanks Led Zeppelin.
Best cover song ever ?
My heads on fire
I didn't know that but I do remember Lou Diamond singing "Ohh my head" in the movie. sincerely, thank you.
Do some research on the song and the Ritchie Valens line.
He is Mexican actor Adalberto Martínez (1916 - 2003) known as "Resortes" = springs. 😂😂😂. He was hilarious, we miss him a lot.
Thank you! What's the name of this film?
Most excellent dancer
Душевно у него получается. Теперь его и мне не хватает...

This video is brilliant. An amazing concept. Hats off to all involved. Extremely well done. It's rare to see such an original video.
Never heard of Resortes but have now and will look for more. Nice stuff. Thanks.
This is the best video editing I have seen to a song! Awesome!
Who ever edited this is a sheer genius.
Has shades of the movie The Mask Jim Carrey all over it. Priceless.
The intro should have covered the filmwork, the dude was legendary. Micheal Jackson ripped this dude off bigtime.
One of my absolutely favorite songs by Zeppelin. I used to listen to this on my way to go Surf 🏄♀️.
So many memories. ✌️
I grew up with Led Zeppelin but this is one of the best videos I have ever seen!!!😉
How many of you have watched this about 50 times or more?!?! 😂😁😅 Keep it coming!!
50 came and went months ago, I've lost count, this is the coolest video ever :-)
@@wallacelarry1813 her legs! Yeah, I have ta watch it too!!

Yup keep coming back over and over 🥳 makes me happy!
Thank🙏💕
This was so fun to watch!
This is brilliant.
It was said in 1969 that LZ would stand the test of time forever musically. This proves it.
YOU KNOW ALREADY IT`S GREAT Thank You ...Thanks from Finland
Led Zeppelin is my favorite band ever, and I love how they covered this Richie Valens song, originally titled "Ooh, My Head." Led Zeppelin also covered Jake Holmes's "Dazed and Confused" very well.
Brilliant, l have been a ZEP fan for years and never seen this before, we need more. Thank you.😊😊😊
