    Hopping on a new set of trails without a local friend can be intimidating. Which loop should I do? How long is the climb? Where do we turn again? Tackle your ride with confidence using this sneak peek of "Megafauna", a less-ridden double black diamond on the southeast side of the Tiger Mountain mountain biking trail system.
    Living and mountain biking near Seattle is outright unfair to the rest of the country. We've got thousands of miles of world-class trails within 30 minutes and our Tiger Mountain mountain biking trails are no exception. Built and maintained to perfection by Evergreen Mountain Biking Alliance, Megafauna is a trail that has challenging features at speed. If you're going a bit slower (like me!) you probably won't make some of the gaps, but never fear, it's still a super fun trail with ride arounds for most things. Is you're looking for one of the best PNW mountain biking trails that doesn't see a ton of riders, look no further.
    Combined with The Legend and adjacent to the Easy Tiger climb trail, Megafauna may just be the perfect uncrowded post-work lap. If you want some of the best Seattle mountain biking around, Tiger Mountain Megafauna has you covered.

    I'm the English guy that spotted you at Ollalie yesterday. Just a quick note to say how helpful I've found your guides. Please keep them up! They've been really helpful for us getting to know the area, having moved from the UK in December.

      Yes!!! Hi Rob! You made my day yesterday. So glad they’ve been helpful. Any more guides you’d like to see?

      Maybe raging river? Any suggestions on harder blues/easier blacks? My wife is loving it at the moment, and those confidence boosting trails are great for her.
      I should have stopped and chatted, but it felt a bit weird to stop someone I'd never met lol. And my wife was already riding off!

      Always happy to have a convo about MTB. Definitely flag me down next time :) As for Raging River, I do in fact have a video that can be found here: th-cam.com/video/OZNDuyK0pn0/w-d-xo.html
      Re: harder blues/easier black - at Raging River CCDH is considered a "spicy blue" by many. Raging Ridge is in itself a great ride, much like Ollallie but more gradual of a climb and without the intermittent views (though it does have a great one at the top). Tokul also has a ton to offer. Outside Renton, Tapeworm and surrounding trails are a great technical spicy blue, while down in Olympia, Capitol Forest is fantastic for quick shuttles. Then there's the bounty in Bellingham et. al- the list goes on. Feel free to email me with more questions for your specific area. I love our MTB community!

    Nice video, and a nice reminder on those two "oddball," yet superfun, trails that put in out in nowhere's land. I do believe when Tiger ultimately connects to RR, these will be part of that master plan ; )

    • @ClaireJencks
      @ClaireJencks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Rob! Totally agree with you, they’re both great trails that will connect directly with the Raging River system. Can’t wait for the master plan to be complete!

    Great vid. No elbow pads though?? I feel like my elbows always go before my knees when I crash

    • @ClaireJencks
      @ClaireJencks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I've never had much luck keeping elbow pads in place on my elbows :) I always land on my right knee, though - so thankful for some good Dakine pads.
