Thanks,l have resurrected my favourite Aldi drill after watching this. The key point is it's economic to repair, motor cost £6.90 delivered next day free from your link.Issue with soldering is alleviated if you use old school Pb60 Sn40 solder greater lead content which is bad for planet but good for hobby soldering because you can use an old 15W iron rather than 40W iron needed to melt environmentally friendly modern solder which is 98Sn Tin with higher melt point. My soldering ability suffered for years till l researched this basic fact.Anyway thanks again for your video, worked for me!

Really pleased you found it helpful and you resurrected your drill! They're decent little drills for the DIYer and worth saving I think. Great tip about the solder! I was using a cheap low power soldering iron with modern solder, hence my struggles I guess! I pulled a rusty Weller 100W soldering iron out of the tip the other week and it works! That should help next time 😁

A cheap fix made it worthwhile repairing a cheap drill. Thanks for putting this clear video on line!
