    Most likely you have an injector that is bad. First thing to do is check your lift pump pressure at the injection pump and check your fuel filter. Also you will want to check your oil pan to see if you have diesel fuel inside of it.

    What a lifesaver!!!!!!!!!!! We had a 05 with a new cracked head. The tech that took it apart quit before the head came back from the M.S. Watched your video and it went back together quick. Great job and great cam work. G and T Auto & Truck Repair.

    Video was EXTREMELY helpful...with one exception...I think you should make it clear that there is NO need to remove the bolt connecting to the push rods...this adds A LOT more headache and time to your project...LOL yes...I did this...and now i have to reset ALL my valve spacing...AAAHHH oh well it probably needed to be checked out anyways. Thanks again for the great video...now i just need to find a video on "how to lash'...cant seem to find how to roll the motor over to set the lashing

    So you don't replace the rubber O-ring on the injector hold down tube ?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The feed tube, if that’s what you are referring to, should be replace anytime the injectors are removed or replaced. Then you get a new O-ring anyway.

    i'd like to see the video of removing the fuel rail. my dodge must be the redheaded step child. it has the lifting eye bracket at number 5, and number 6 has the safety plate rite behind it. pia to remove due to no clearance between block and firewall.

    Any advice for the rear ones? I am stuck on the last one. Very tight space to remove the fuel rail line.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Remove the lifting bracket if you haven’t already, should get you some room. Stubby wrenches are your friend and make sure you use a wrench to hold the feed tube nut.

    • @gloglo1275
      @gloglo1275 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thoroughbreddiesel
      Yeah I got the lifting bracket couple of days ago. There seems to be another bracket on the rear which seems to be in the way of fitting a socket to remove the injector tube. Not sure if there is anyway to remove the injector tube with that rear bracket. Maybe with a wrench but not a socket. That is what I’m struggling with is that last bracket on the rear of the engine.

    I have an 06 with 200,000 that had #5 injector just go bad/open circuit. Ohm meter confirmed its injector.. 4.0 ohms. I replaced all 6 about 2015 with 140,000 on it, but I was a cheap dumbass who didn't replace the connector tubes. Seemed to run fine though. About 2019 I installed an air dog system on it. Anyways, along with ordering new injector, I ordered 6 new connector tubes. How would you recommend I install them on the other 5 good injectors? Leave injectors hold down and just R&R tubes? Loosen injectors hold down then install tubes?

  • @iFuerzaXI
    @iFuerzaXI 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    you always change the cross over feed tubes. sorta shotty work. also you never push on the solenoid on the injector, use a 15/16 socket to push on the middle part of the injector. also never mentioned the tourqe sequence to allow no leakage at the injector and feed tube. its hard to seal 20 thou psi when the surfaces r not sealed.

    I have 2004.5 Dodge 3500 with the Cummins. When I went to check and adjust the valve lash there was a spring attached to the bottom side of the valve cover. The spring was broke. Didn't reinstall due to being broke. Everything I have read states it is a ground spring. Does this spring need to be replaced with a new one?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel

  • @conmahony6437

    When you change out a injector on a 5.9 2006 cummins do you have to use a scan tool to enter a new code in the Ecm

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, with the age of the truck, you would be better off to replace all six. Both for peace of mind and also for less confusion with warranty situations.

      "4 to 8 hours". About 1.5 hours for removal, same back together is 3 hours. Another hour to run an overhead and you got 4 hours. Now if shits stuck or breaks you're adding time. Also remember this is shop time, if the overhead takes 35 minutes that's an hour. If the job takes 4h40m that's 5 hours
