    I don’t know, but Dodge says different. It’s says 44 inch pounds a seat injector in. Then loosen Bolt bolts put feeder Or crossover tube and torque nut 11 inch pounds. Then torque injector final torque is 89 inch pounds. Go back to crossover tube and final torque is 37 to 45 Ft. lbs. Way it gets evenly torqued by a fourth step Torquing process. Thank you for the video I like your old video but that’s straight outta Dodge.

      It is 11 ft lbs (not in lbs), but yes, sequence from the manual makes more sense for getting the crossover tube aligned to the injector notch. 11-inch pounds is for the solenoid nuts (in 2006 manual).

    My 2006 tube hold down is 57 ft lbs not 34 ft lbs and 11 in lbs on the harness nuts not 13 in lb, great video just wanted to note the difference from my dodge service manual

      I think I would go with your service manual. I worked for Dodge for quite a few years. And the guy that taught me raise three kids through grade school and high school Catholic private schools working nothing but dodge Cummings.

    Thank you for the video! It helps me finally understand how the high pressure fuel seals into the injector body via the feed tubes. Great explanation on torque sequence. Your videos are helpful for guys like me. Keep them coming!

      It’s a snap on ¼ inch drive, they read inch pounds. Most of todays newer digital torque wrenches will display inch pound too.

    I replaced all of my 06 injectors about 2015 when #6 went bad. I was a cheapskate and didn't replace connector tubes. My #5 injector just went bad so I ordered one, plus 6 connector tubes. Would you recommend replacing all 6 tubes? My truck has always started and ran well. I was, however, disappointed ever since I replaced all 6 injectors in 2015 (160,000 miles- truck now has 200,000)it has gotten a few less miles per gallon whether towing, empty, city, highway, etc.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Replacing the feed tubes wont hurt a thing, and one thing that may be good for the entire project is to have those tubes retorqued.

    • @D_Snapp_Garage
      @D_Snapp_Garage 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thoroughbreddiesel how would you recommend I replace the other 5 since those injectors don't need replaced? Remove old tubes, brush inside the hole clean, replace and torque the connector tube nut? Or loosen the injector bolts then insert and torque the new tubes? Or even more than that, pop injectors out and then push back in as if I am putting in all new ones, then install connector tubes?

    What type of grease, lithium, ball bearing, Vaseline, gear etc?????

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I want to say anything will work here, but I'm sure someone will jump in and say “don’t use X grease blah blah”. We traditionally use assembly lube or just everyday bucket of high temp bearing grease.

      You have the suspected injector line removed and capped off? If so and it doesn’t stop knocking you move to a different cylinder. I don’t think I understood exactly what you are saying.

      This video is for a common rail truck (Model year 2003 +). If you truck is a 98.5-02 truck and you have a no start, check lift pump pressure and codes to identify your problem.

    I apriciate the video" I just recently replaced all 6 of my injectors with remanufacured bosch injectors from a reputable e-bay dealer. I had 1 of them stay completely open causing an engine knock and clouds of white smoke. I was able to isolate #2 was the cause with the miller cap tools. I pulled it, put back in one of my old ones and now I'm at the point I have put back all my old ones and my truck will not stop smoking when I give her gas. there is no blow bye/blow back she idles perfect drives like she used to, but now I have white smoke and when I place a heavier load on her I get a cloud of grey smoke. any sugestions?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you are on the right track. Pull all injectors and send them back. I would also suggest running a compression test on the motor because the faulty injectors could have done some engine damage.
