Discovered your channel because I was trying to figure out something carb related to my 82 750seca I bought, not running. I ended up binging the whole Playlist, absolutely amazing work. I wish I had the talent, expertise, tools one day to make something that beautiful. Absolutely impressed. I hope you're still enjoying the bike!
Thanks mate! I’m building a new workshop now, nearly done. Will then start building bikes and cars again. You might be interested in my playlist on my high performance race mower and workshop build
@Mezzmoengineering I'm sure you'll do great and you'll get many top end customers! I mean, if I had the money, after seeing your work, I would literally have you fly over to the US for a custom bike, haha! If you can get seen by customers that can afford this, I'm sure you won't even be able to accept all the jobs coming to you. If I may say, if it's not done, I highly suggest you start making shorts, 1min or less, of the most impressive change, start/finish. Get inspired by watching some shorts of highly viewed short channels, maybe even a tiktok account.
Like it or not, that's what work today, and a big buzz/viewer pool will increase your business greatly.
Far from me to seem like a know it all, I don't, I've barely ever commented on a video, and I've been watching TH-cam almost every day for over 10 years.
I really think you have the talent, expertise, and taste to make it big. You just gotta figure out how to condense so much work into 1 min videos. Advertise your business or channel, and I'm sure it'll blow off! At least I really hope it does.
It's just my humble opinion. I'll check the rest of your videos with pleasure, I hope to see shorts coming soon.
Ps: I see a lot of shorts about solving problems that occurs during projects(theres always something coming up). The algorithm seems to like it a lot it makes a lot of views. Not everything needs to be spectacular, problem solving is huge too!
I have a 1982 Yamaha 650, I really liked your work, I would like to do something like this with mine. I wish I had a person with the talent that you have, I was impressed, my dream is to leave my Yamaha like that
Thanks mate, glad you like it
My first "big" bike after passing my test was a mid 80s XJ 550. I've always had a fondness for the mid 80s Yams, they were not exceptional but they were dependable. After a few years riding experience, and owning a couple of fast Hondas, I bought an FJ1100. It was a flying machine, I did some mods, making it a FJ 1100/1200 hybrid, and loved it. The wheels look suspiciously like the FJ1200 wheels I fitted, and the tank has similar lines to the FJR.
As I've got older, I've realised that with some fettling, the mid range mid 80s bike, have enough of everything, but honestly I don't think I've seen a restoration with subtle upgrades that looks or sounds nicer than yours.
Nice piece of work and I hope you get to enjoy it for years to come.
Thanks man, much appreciated! I hope to enjoy this for a long time.
I like this bike. I’m happy to see you kept an old classic rideable.
Stoked to finally see more of the finished project! You should be proud of the quality restoration and customisation you've done here!
Thanks Daniel
Beautiful work, a nice balance of vintage, and modern. I just purchased a 1982 Yamaha Seca 550.
Thanks Neil
Thanks for sharing . :)
Your clips have helped me a lot in my first project.
I am rebuilding an XJ550 and checking your channel a lot.
You're doing a great job !!
Your projects and results are awesome !!
THANKS!!!!! (from Sweden) :)
Thanks Niklas
good job ! I love the tail and the big round perky headlight .. and the honeycell print has a very good taste 😎
Thanks Fran, glad you like it
Brother I just finished watching all the vids on this build and I must say a job well done 👍. You got skills.
Thanks mate, glad you like it👍
Hard work worth the outcome.. well done
Thanks 👍
Gday, This build is an absolute credit to you, a lot of work involved but mate it payed off, looks bloody awesome, thanks for sharing the build, cheers
Thanks Matty, Glad you enjoyed it
Magnificent work of art 🤘
Thanks mate
I wish we weren’t so far apart because I’d love to help with this project.
I’d be looking at a relatively full strip down thinking of the condition of frame you can’t see
Please share the secret of how you so magically cleaned the tank from rust?
I am currently working on xj750 recovery issues and was incredibly impressed with the effect on this video.
And yes, your work pleases the eye.
Thank you for such detailed videos.
Thanks mate. Check out my earlier "fuel restoration video" as I show just how easy and cheaply it is to clean a rusty tank, th-cam.com/video/2kyotvgm4ss/w-d-xo.html
You are so talented...NICE JOB!!!
Thanks Donald
Looks beautiful , good job 👍
Thanks mate
Parabéns ! Um trabalho de muito bom gosto, uma verdadeira muscle bike !
Thanks Luiz, glad you like it
Great vid! Congratulations, you’ve done a great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Dam nice job
Thanks mate
Good see ya back.
I'm on a Cagiva 125 build now. Thinking Ferrari red after that F1 win :)
Nice one! Red would look great
Great attention to detail! Lots of fabrication to say the least!
Thanks mate
good job. try to make something around headlight, between the headlight and the adometer
Piękna ,super dżwięk .
Thanks!
Bike: 200 USD
Parts: 2000 USD
Work: 10000 USD
Tools, instruments and such: 50.000 USD
Cost of the project: 62.200 USD
so how much would this bike sell for?
@@Mezzmoengineering uh? Sell? I thought you made it for you to have fun...
Don't know. For a price buyers would pay. Less than 20k.. otherwise one would buy a brand new MV Augusta
@@x_mau9355 not selling, too much effort went into it. Just going to enjoy it
The motoGadget suite brings it up to 21st century standards. Nice build all around!
I had an XS 750 (triple) that ran smoother than this!
Yep, the Motogadget gear is very nice. Only thing that I'm not that impressed with is the billet grips, I think the mounting method for those isn't too good.
hermosa saludos desde Colombia
Too good 🔥🔥🔥🔥 awesome
Thank you so much 😀
Wow❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very cool mate. I have one myself how long did it take ? What did it cost ya?
Hi Craig, took about a year. I didn't spare any expense and with all the moto gadget gear, upgraded brakes, engine etc etc I spent around $10K in parts including the bike and excluding my time. Check out the entire detailed series on my channel if your keen.
The head light its better lower & straight with upper.fuel tank
Yeah, I positioned it where it was originally but agree it doesn't look right with all the other upgrades. Will either relocate or replace with something smaller
Good point. However, when you move light down - than handlebars and speedometer everything will have to go down too to keep it looking clean.
@@michaltrivium Yep, agree. From the riders view it looks great. From the side it looks a bit high and maybe big, but I do think lowering will make it look better from the side but won't look right against the speedo. The speedo is definitely in the right spot, so no moving that.
Going to think about this a bit more, either it stays as is or I might look for something a bit smaller. Really not sure but the more I seem to think about it the more I will probably leave it as is...
@@Mezzmoengineering Bike is looking really great. Custom made with character. Congratulation on a project.
@@michaltrivium Thanks mate
im looking at getting a xj750 and turn it into a scrambler
preveous owner diddent put the KM it has done on the new gauge tho but for a 3k bike i think i could look past that and get a estimate on what it has done
Sounds like a great project, good luck with it
Hello! Awesome! Could you please make a video on put descriptions about parts you have used? Thank you,
Hi mate, I’ll do that at some stage. In the meantime if you look through the series you will see I provide info on most parts used.
very nice video series!! what is the best source for oem yamaha parts? I'm wanting to find new V seals for the carby throttle plate shafts
I got some parts direct from my local Yamaha dealer and others private sales or on ebay. I found the V seals on EBay. Just search under XJ650 throttle shaft seals, www.ebay.com.au/itm/384291899302?hash=item59799507a6:g:rhQAAOSwv1RUZ4FN&frcectupt=true
👍👍👍

Great rebuild and custom work. Where did you get carburetor repair kits and jets from please?, I have contacted Yamaha dealers in WA with no luck.
Hi mate, I just purchased a kit from ebay..also got a jet kit from 6 Sigma online
@@Mezzmoengineering
Thanks, the item I can't find is the V rings for the butterfly shaft.
Cheers
Richard
@@richardreed4201 Hi Richard, I found them on ebay. Had a look now but can't find them anymore. Try the XJ forums. There's a guy there called Chacal, he will have them
Ive been dying to find a simple easy to understand diagram of the wiring. I cant seem to get anywhere nor find a PDF of it anywhere online ive looked and only seemed to find it so complex and blurry images. Any tips?
Hi Christian, I used the Motogadget M Unit blue for the wiring. Its a great unit and about as simple as it gets. Check the detail out in my earlier video, th-cam.com/video/dFg-_hQCvh0/w-d-xo.html
Where do you find engine parts for the rebuilds I need to rebuild my 1981 Yamaha xj6
Hi, mostly just searched on ebay and other online sources. Also was able to get some parts directly from Yamaha
@@Mezzmoengineering awesome thank you so much. Mine busted a gasket a while back and started leaking oil out the exhaust pipes it’s a custom cage racer like your builds and I don’t do any of the work but when it happened I was man where would I even get parts for it as these bikes are rare to find over here
Master! Where are you?
I have a motorcycle like this in my garage in Prague.
Want one? Buy it cheap.
@@Alx-alx-alx Hi, Why don’t you make it a project bike for yourself..
@@Mezzmoengineering I got a disability and now I can't drive a motorcycle. I sold the XG650 sidecar in 2023. And I can't pick up the one in Prague.
@@Mezzmoengineering th-cam.com/video/XYqRF4fSmj0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DwVNxvK59pOpHBBy
@@Alx-alx-alxok, sorry to hear that. I’m in Australia so a long way from you. Good luck with it
Friend, could you tell me what size of tires you put on it, and the rims of which motorcycle are because I have a dry Xj750 and the rims you bring are R19 in the front and R18 in the rear, but I want to put thicker like this, just like you put on your motorcycle because they are not very commercial in these large sizes
I have a 150 tyre on the rear and 120 on the front. Rear rim is 4 inches wide but needed a fair few mods to make it fit...check my earlier videos as I show this mod in detail
looking for a front brake caliper for mine. would any aftermarket one work or does it bolt up a certain way
Hi, you will most likely need a caliper from the same model as the bolt holes and offsets are different between bikes etc. Another model might fit, but I don't know which would use the same, best option is to rebuild what you have or buy a used replacement...
@@Mezzmoengineering Ah okay good to know. I don't have the caliper unfortunately as my grandpa lost it with the side covers. Used replacements go for around $60 and I imagine i'll likely have to rebuild the caliper while I'm at it so I may just ignore front brakes for now. I still need to invest in air filters, battery, rear tire, gas cap, ignition (key went with gas cap that was put on another bike that's gone now), and then just unstick back brakes.
@@RYANINBODEN1547 Sounds like a project. You should be able to buy a caliper seal kits fairly cheap and that is a fairly straight forward job....You should also check the master cylinder is also working properly.
What tank did you use, I love the style of it
Hi mate, the tank is from an XJ750 seca
Wooo looking badass motorcycle 🏍️🏍️🆒lol
Thanks mate
@@Mezzmoengineering 🙏🙏🙏🙏
what are the air filters you used for the bikes
Hi mate, I used K&N air filters
Nice built! What is the front end off?
Hi mate, its from an XJ900
Gracias
Hi mate, if you have carby problems, I think its best remove them and clean them very thoroughly. Also, check the rubber boots for cracks. Use my carby video to see what to do. If it was running good before then it should be good. If you have made changes to the jets or engine then it might be more challenging.
@@yurisulca8633 It might be the slides sticking or an air leak somewhere. It can be frustrating but is one of those things that just needs time and patience to be sure the carbies are all good.
@@Mezzmoengineering te puedo enviar un video de como lo enciendo y como se comporta la moto, para que me puedas ayudar a dar una solución. te estaré agradecido
@@yurisulca8633 OK, send me some info
are the xj 650 have the same carb model with xj 750? just asking
Hi mate, the carb's are the same but the jets, needle and most likely the emulsion tubes are different
@@Mezzmoengineering any way where I could find one for xj750? Im having a problem on mine being overflowed
@@mikolmikolo2542 If its overflowing all you need is a carby kit. They are easy to find on Ebay. It should include a new fuel seat and stem...
@@Mezzmoengineering thanks for the tip!! Awesome video guides btw!!
Is there a name of that kind of exhaust? 😊
It’s a custom build. 4 into 2 with sports mufflers
@@Mezzmoengineering Thanks
Meister! Wo bist du?
Ich habe so ein Motorrad in meiner Garage in Prag.
Wollen? Holen Sie es sich günstig.
just the front light too big for me! a 5 and 3/4 " could be more Strret tracker style.... but really good job for the entire bike
Thanks mate. Have thought about changing the light. Just need to find something suitable...
@@Mezzmoengineering Maybe a Bates style with a bottom mount, custom but cool.... ^_^
@@davy197706 I'll check it out
Nah I love the big headlight on the XJ. makes it look tough.

I used an XJ900 rim

Đầu đèn nhìn sao sao ý
Hi, the lamp is the original from the xj650. It’s big, I’m not certain if I leave it or change to something else
@@Mezzmoengineering I think changing to another type would be more suitable. if you still want to keep the . let's put it close. don't let it go that far. Tks
