Starship Troopers is one of my favorite movies of all time and you would think that the setting and story of the book and film would be perfect to make games about. But unfortunately throughout the years we have only gotten a handful of games and most of them had been pretty average. And it has taken a while but in 2022 we finally have another Starship Troopers game and this time in the form of a RTS with a heavy focus on a singleplayer campaign story.
Follow the Mobile Infantry as we rid a new planet of the bug threat with the might of the Fleet at our backs. Throughout the campaign we will fight all sorts of bugs including the ones we love to hate like the Warrior Bugs, the flying Hoppers or the massive Tanker Bugs. But we will have plenty of loyal and brave soldiers at our disposal and even the Marauder suits and Power Armor units will see the light of day in this campaign, paying homage to Starship Troopers 1, 2 and 3 and also the CGI movie tie-ins. So grab your gear and follow me to glory, marines! Move it, you apes! Do you want to live forever?

Didn't they tell you? That's what the mobile infantry's good for.
You know you can reinforce every squad at once if you select every squad and press reinforce. One shuttle will just fly in and reinforce everyone

Man I love no commentary let's plays. I know some let's player's have some good commentary but you usually have to go through a bit of others who don't even talk about the game they are playing
Man, this game sure has lots of Bugs!
Yeah and hard to handle. You need to put more soilders, 2 or 3 walking tanks and 1 or 2 turrets especially air/space support and prepare a huge defence position.
@@donpula6349 personal opininion, i think the game still need a whole lot of upgrade.
The control still not fluid enough & they should try for the community to build custom fortification or even trenches.
Dlc for original storyline starring Rico & the others would be awesome. Also, add mods.
All and all, it is a fun game.

Missed opportunity in the voice over. I guess the writers and voice actors aren’t familiar with paul verhoeven starship troopers/ Robo cop. Imagine the news bulletins in cut scene a la command and conquer red alert 2. The type of camp that Paul would have loved…Love the movie, game looks good. Thanks for posting!

I think I glitched it.. I couldn't cap the hanger bunker, I had a few teams go in at 0 and then just get stuck. Eventually it just moved onto the next phase despite the hive still pumping out troops.

Game looks amazing. The frustration is real when watching your units get slaughtered.
I wish corpses were persistent. It would add much to the whole atmosphere. Not many strategy games do that.

Wow, that's a siriously long campaign. And it captures the spirit of the movie so well. Funny how it says VICTORY in bold letters at the end of every mission, when some of them are a otal blowout. Having to give up the fort that was hyped as this impenetrable fortress in the beginning, and barely evacuating the civilians for example. I'm at the canyon mission (3:30:00), and it's getting really tough. Playing on difficulty 4 out of 5, and I just have no chance near the end of that mission. I once made it to the end, but barely didn't have enough soldiers left (you need 20), so it counted as a defeat.
itd be cool if you could drop explosives or something into the bug lair to destroy them
Ahhh, battle for middle earth 2/end war but it's starship troopers. LOVE IT
I feel so sad that he died in the game. He was in one game that was with us the hole time.

Oh boy does it get hard in the later levels. holy moly
Just finished the second the last mission and after three attempts failing at pretty much the third wave I decided to retreat to the main base and abandon the walls. I kept on losing the outer bases every wave but it is a so much better defensive position! Didn't lose almost any man until the very last round, and you can retake the outer bases inbetween waves with sniper's special. 4/5 difficulty and so much easier!
Terran Command combines with Starship Troopers Trilogy, plus Invasion and Traitor of Mars.

For some reason, the brain appears in the first cave but never gets to hide, in order to find it in the final cave to the north, I eliminated all the hives, activated all the turrets, but the option to help the flank unit never appeared and neither did the camera for the m11 or whatever, I tried several times and nothing :(
does this game have a skirmish mode like C&C?
Well the Royal Guard is certainly more devastating now than they were before.

It's unfair that Hawthorne was punished for keeping his men alive. If Command hadn't left him and his men to die, then he wouldn't have had to disobey orders.
This game reminds me of blue gender.

I agree. They should have just upgraded the graphics and animation is Starship Troopers Terran Ascendancy and released it as a "remastered edition" or something.

I know this is late but around the 6:00:00 mark and past it seemed you kept walking troops into bugs instead of attacking or pulling back, also lacking to reinforce most timea when given the chance.
I noticed that too, I think this person is playing on easy because they would have otherwise developed more cautious habits on higher difficulties.
I get it’s a retro futuristic franchise but why don’t they use the good ol artillery cannons like in todays military? Has the lore explained why?
Difficult to deploy and by the time they are deployed theyd be either a) swarmed or b) useless against the bugs that can burrow and dig super well. plus ss focuses on a us (humans) vs them (bugs), because country driven by citizenship through service is bad and its mocking america from the 60s, and the grim reality/horror of war. It was originally ment to be a anti-war book that got abridged into a movie series that spawned a shit ton of memes and had the opposite of its effect.

If this game had come out around the time the movie was released, it would have been in everyone's nostalgia, this surely looks like a missed opportunity for the developers because the game doesn't seem to be using today's technology, looks bland.
there was a similar game at the time, and it was pretty good. This one is also a very good game in my opinion

Pretty lame you only get to see Hawthorn for the first half of the game. He was actually likeable and written to feel like a real character from Starship Troopers.
The latin female was a rather bland and forgettable character, I just didn't get a Starship Troopers vibe from her. Just felt like a generic "tough" chick. Genuinely disappointing shes your CO for the entire second half of the game, especially right after first trying to sacrifice Hawthorn's men for no good reason and then court-martialing him for refusing to sacrifice his own men.
Thats my only nitpick of the game though, I otherwise thoroughly enjoyed the missions and their variety.
I stlll think this game should stick with the novel.
