❤love this movie saw it when I graduated high school in 1997 I will always call 1997 the year of freedom
Paul verhoeven is brilliant director starship troopers, RoboCop,Total recall all timeless movies ❤
I was 8 when this movie came out. I remember renting it from Blockbuster and this was this first scene to make me feel true impending doom. The second I saw that swarm of bugs outside the fort. God damn, I love this movie!
Cgi from 1997... and its better then some movies with Bagger Budget from 2023....
I saw this in theaters when I was only 11 years old. I was too young to understand the satire at the time, but I loved it and continued to love it more and more with each watch over the years. This film is a timeless classic and the CGI is absolutely mind-blowing for _1997._
As a fan re-watching it, _I'm doing my part!_
(Edit: Soundtrack is also a banger. Very much similar to Robocop ost, obviously).
One, may be THE best movie i've ever seen on the big screen. Even today this movie is still in my top 5.
They need to make a starship trooper 2 ASAP. I remember watching this movie as a kid. Absolutely loved it!!
They did and they were horrible lol.
@@johnroberts9014 I guess that’s why I never heard of it lol
My friend works in pest control, and this is what I imagine he does.
This movie will live forever!
What’s impressive is the graphics still holds good on a Harsh sunlight . Wondering what happened to the latest cgi tech
glad to see this classic serve like inspiration of the game of the moment (and probably a classic for the future). My fav sci-fi movie since i am 5 years old...god times of DVD
A bunch of level 1 Helldivers.
True love right there. Kissing someone even if they were spitting blood and dying the ugliest death in the entire movie.
Helldive extraction be like
I remember as a kid-teen (tween?) I was at my brothers, fell a sleep on their couch and woke up to this and them sleeping. No idea the context, (I woke up 1/4 way through) but, I legit just sat up, and watched the entire film. Didn’t try to change it knowing how, I don’t know why I felt compelled at the time to finish this movie.
did you like the film?
@@jusssstteeezzy yes, I don’t think I even went bathroom through the movie.
No cap, this genuinely looks like a fun action flick despite how old it is
3:38 when you’re in helldivers and you called for the evacuation.
Southern border being overrun by Chinese immigrants
literally feels like teh music is the same lol
this movie never gets old
I'm seeing a lot of well deserved respect for the tower bros in the comments. MVPs of Outpost Whiskey.
"Rico! You know what to do."
"Yes sir."
_Aims his gun_
"No you idiot! I meant pull me back on to the ship!"
Bug :
3:41 "Have a taste of Liber-tea!"
3:19 the way that dude got Yoinked, makes me laugh every time
If Monday waz a bug lol. And always wondered how bugs even eat besides murdering troops?? Do they eat at all??
Lifesaver First aid advice, if you have a large foreign object in a wound, don't pull it out, it's plugging the hole.
Wouldnt have safed her. She was punctured through the heart earlier. Getting that out was irrelevant at that point. ALso her lungs where finished already. Rico survived as all he took was shit through his leg and then was safed MOST LIKELY by Razak himself who then wanted the rest of the Apache's into the Roughnecks (aka Ace, Dizz and Rico)
Man those tower guns go hard! 💪
Bring back "Oily sweaty faces" of the 80's and 90's.
Make oily faces again!!
So classic, hasn't aged a day
Never understood why he wanted to die rather than get neat new legs and keep fighting.
Damn, you are right. It's not like they would walk for hours or spend time saving him. Rescue was there already!
Probably because he was in some intense pain. Maybe the bug that ate his legs had venom. Idk though that's just a theory.
@@NordicJarl27 A Game Theory!
Half body ripped, he would die long before they get him to the ship
remember the recruitment officer? "mobile infantry made me the man i am today!" that is, half the man he was, considering the robotic hand and whatnot.
i doubt the leg prostheses would allow for 100% combat effectiveness, he would probably be unfit for military service at that point, and in the society depicted, no good at all; he has nothing left to live for. but like other commenters said, he's probably in immense pain, and probably going to have PLS and chronic pain for the rest of his life.
This was just like thanksgiving at the in-laws,my ex mother-in-law’s were just like this ,I remember run get to the chopper !
What the SEAF infantry are doing while they wait for the Helldivers to complete enough Liberation missions.
"Fire at will!"
Will: "Not again.."
“Fire at will”
Everyone else. WHICH ONE IS WILL?
Kid named Will…
@@kgpspyguy Please. These horrible jokes are fuming. I am burning.
Will Smith?
@xyhmo wow lol
Fleet does the flying, MI does the dying !!
Classic case of strength in overwhelming numbers.
A campy movie overall but still super fun to watch.
The camp is the whole point, it's done deliberately.
2:16-Even the bugs are capable of friendly fire. God what a movie.
You know, I’ve seen this movie maybe 20 times and never noticed that. Good catch! 👍
Lol lol
Who is here from helldivers?
Yo
Here for DRG and Helldivers
So glad my step dad took us to see this on big screen
Mobile Infantry? where's their mortar platoon? Artillery?
They didn’t know bugs were on the planet, they were just investigating why their outpost went quiet
It's satire written and directed by a lefty
