@@awman3966 you didn't really raise any compelling points here. First, other survivors are a non issue. What was it, less than 10, out of hundreds? The point isn't that he was spared, it's why he was spared (so Zero could have another Big Boss out there).
Losing 9 years of his life. Still preferable to being killed that night. He got off pretty lucky with his 9 year nap.
Brainwashing. To be convinced that he is better than he was. Boo hoo. And lastly living as a decoy, as someone better than he was. Again, boo hoo. There's no case to be made that anyone should feel sorry for Venom.

I like to believe that after the events of MGS4, Snake and Otacon met an old soldier who served in both MSF and Diamond Dogs and tells them the story of Big Boss from Peace Walker to Phantom Pain.
Venom Snake was the only one who earned the title "Big Boss" (With Solid being a close second) and nobody, NOBODY, can tell me otherwise.

@@2diabolicalIn MGS4 Solid I think says Big Boss taught Solid Snake CQC but Solid Snake preferred not to use it in the earlier games. Was it Venom snake or the real Big Boss Naked Snake that taught him CQC another plot hole?

Venom snake's final misdion
In MGS4 Big Boss says Solid has already defeated him twice, soooo technically...BB has to take Venom's place somehow, so there's no plot holes :)
He did defeat him twice until MGS5 decided to change that.
@@ghatazhak4265No. both in Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land, BB was the one pulling the strings. In both cases, snake foiled him.

Solid Snake did not shoot the wrong man. Even if you believe in that stupid retcon introduced by V that the base commander of Outer Heaven is Venom instead of Big Boss. I personally don’t subscribe to the retcon and consider the Big Boss in Outer Heaven the original Big Boss and Venom had nothing to do with it. But if you believe it was Venom, then you believe that Venom was about to launch a nuke at the US and deserved to be taken out. Either way, not the wrong man.

Nope. MGSV was the first game to come up with Venom Snake -- he didn't exist when these old games came out. He was not part of the canon. And I'm pretty sure Big Boss said Solid Snake defeated Big Boss twice. So the idea that Snake actually fought Venom is not true.
yea but konami immediately retconned it with mgsv release at the end mission the man who sold the world you see a cassete labeled Operation Intrude N313/man who sold the world absolutely confirming that the big boss who died in mg1 was venom mg2 was big boss who got stitched together after the events of mg2 with solidus and liquid parts to then show up in mgs4 and say oooh you beat me twice when in reality it was once because venom not only wasnt a thing outside of lore but in lore hes suppose to be a perfect body double besides the lack of an arm and horn
also also to add on to that the entire goal of mgsv is to make an army and gather soldiers to diamond dogs which later ends up turning into a version of outer heaven off screen after the credits roll
