He didn't invent anything, him and Big Boss were just really good at managing their PMC and that made other people start to copy them. There were already mercenaries in wars before MSF came along The "War Economy" of the MGS universe was "invented" by JD/The Patriots after the SOP system went online and gave them full real time control of soldiers on the field. And not just PMC soldiers, regular soldiers as well. And by the time this happened both Big Boss and Miller were long dead.
Aw man... A visionary robbed of his future. So much of MGSV's story felt like a distant fever dream that I forgot they blinded him. Robbed of his vision literally and metaphorically... Big yikes
But it all fits perfectly with the tragedy of a "visionary losing his future" as Kaz had BIG dreams but it was taken from him due to unfortunate circumstances.
I find it hilarious that this man so hell bent on getting revenge on XOF, such a lust for revenge to where he refuses to use prosthetics, canonically runs a burger joint
8:34 "so the XOF organization was created" i love this video but actually thats not true, Major Zero first created them during the Virtuous Mission and Operation Snake Eater as a support unit but they were later repurposed by Skullface (who i believe was an OG member and at Tselinoyarsk with Naked Snake)
Kaz did find happiness and defeated Big Boss despite everything. He's clearly very cheerful and optimistic in Metal Gear 2 and Liquid's impersonation is as such. He became a father to Solid Snake, and Snake loved him so much. Beating Big Boss in another area he failed. And Kaz and Solid lived together in Alaska. With their dogs and his daughter. That's peace. Big Boss and Ocelot died defeated and miserable. Kaz won and got everything he wanted.
My head cannon is that when Liquid killed Miller he took the glasses specifically as a way to sort of spit on his grave, Kaz’s glasses hiding his sight and Liquid basically taking the eyes of a dead man
The name "Outer Heaven" isn't ironic at all. It's supposed to mean something outside the actual heaven. It was first (chronologically) coined in MGS:PO, when Snake said he didn't want to be a part of Gene's Army's Heaven.
I still feel bad for Venom, he was just a tool for everyone, as soon as Miller realised, he didnt even want to be around Venom anymore, granted by that time, Venom already learned he lost his old life, but still, Venoms identity and persona was created to eventually die at the hands of the man he saved
I didn't really like Miller, honestly, but this video made me appreciate him a lot more so thank you for taking the time to make this. This is a well done video :)

Kaz’s voice actor Robin Atkin Downes does such a great job that I never really paid attention to the character, idk he just always felt like the narrator
great video, always happy to see more Kaz content, but two things; Kaz isn't blind and he didn't lose his limbs during XOF's attack on Mother Base, the latter being either when his team was ambushed by the Skulls or during his torture
When Kaz was put into Peace Walker, I initially thought this was a pointless prequel insert, similar to Campbell in Portable Ops. It lead me to constantly question and trying to reconcile how it's supposed to make sense leading up to MG2 and MGS. Gotta say, developed a whole new appreciation. Bravo!
I just realised this, I'm so dumb. The big boss parts of the game are where most the betrayal happens, organisations turning on them selfs. While the solid snake parts aren't.
Miller was always a great character. From an agent of Cypher to a mentor to Solid Snake. He was always interesting. Even when I first saw him in the first MGS (even though it isn't actually him). I was happy to see him in Metal Gear 2 when I played Solid 3 HD. He was one of the OG characters.
Based on your video, I see a Character who was resilient, hopeful, and strong. He faced marginalization, and ostracization, despite all of that he was eventually able to create a family and home (twice over). I think his story is one of triumph not tragedy!
Btw, XOF was formed when FOX was formed, they were meant to be a clean up crew. Then Skull Face took control and used it for his own purpose. Also he did know Venom Snake back when he was the Medic, but only found out he was said Medic after he was told of it
Yeah I finished it, ngl kinda bummed out with how things went. Good ole Miller had his personality sucked out and put into tapes about hamburgers, Ocelot was watered down but was still best girl, Quiet who I was hoping was a failed prototype of the skulls for an epico revenge plot kinda just leaves and can't be chased because a random Russian hates snakes, and I guess somehow Eli loses his giant robot in the wild and then grows up to be Liquid. Of course there were things I liked but when you're taking in a story and like... 70% of your characters are disappointing it hurts the overall experience Never forgetti old Ocelot yelling "bang"
@@ElizabethDucc I was really upset at the quiet thing because I barely took her into the field but realizing I had to just to get her mission made me bring her along as a chore to complete, instead of actually wanting to keep her with me. So it just felt like bullshit when I spend 1 hour with a character and the game tries to pull an emotional goodbye at the end. Horseshit lol
Between Snake, straight arrow, and big boss, a living contradiction, Miller was probably the most realistic main character in the whole series because he actually changed a lot, but still stuck to his ideologies in the end.
I think its nice that he wanted to bring peace and that he was able too in the end by defeating big boss in the end through is pupil, at least he did bring peace by taking down those who led him astray its like he took those that were bad along with him which in my opinion is true strength.
I like the idea that Miller saw what Outer Heaven had become and realized it wasn't the peace-bringing organization he had worked so hard to build. Add on top of that this sense of betrayal by Big Boss leaving him with a body double without his prior knowledge, you can totally see why he would have some resentment for Big Boss. I'm also amazed at how Kojima took a somewhat background side character mostly used for a plot twist and made them an integral part of the Metal Gear Saga. Sure there were plenty of retcons along the way, but you can still tell that the Kazuhira "McDonnell" Miller from MG2: SS and MGS is the same guy.
Him just getting poisoned to death is so frustrating. No final duel or decry against his former allies . Just gets offed in a cowardly way. At least he found peace for a little while .
You know what has bugged me for several years now? Millers arms! In the booklet of MGS1, the *official* artwork depicted Miller during the events of shadow mosses circa 2005 mind you, as having all four limbs. They Retconned his Fucking. Limbs!
I know it's been two years but he has cataracts and Photophobia (Light sensitivity) which after his time in Afghanistan became much more exasperated to the point where he cannot see well without tinted lenses. Blindness isn't a lack of sight, it's a spectrum that encompasses many kinds of visual impairment so he is, in fact, blind.
It truly is tragic when you think that they tried to fight for those who couldn't fight for themselves and eventually turned into those who they do desperately fought against
Do you think that when Ocelot killed Miller, he just went into his cabin, started speaking and Miller interrupts "What happened to your accent? Also go ahead and kill me, I should've died a long time ago"

The "War Economy" of the MGS universe was "invented" by JD/The Patriots after the SOP system went online and gave them full real time control of soldiers on the field. And not just PMC soldiers, regular soldiers as well. And by the time this happened both Big Boss and Miller were long dead.
HE didn't "invent hamburger", he just perfected his own brand.
XOF did the supply of tranq ammo
XOF did the supply of tranq ammo
Idk why but I always have a blast when Miller is on screen. Especially in TPP.
Because Kaz is a MASSIVELY cool character and one of the best characters in the series!
Never knew kaz was so important to the metal gear story I always thought he was never done justice but from this video i am proven wrong, thank you.
Kazuhira "touch my back, violate the NAP" Miller
Kaz did find happiness and defeated Big Boss despite everything. He's clearly very cheerful and optimistic in Metal Gear 2 and Liquid's impersonation is as such. He became a father to Solid Snake, and Snake loved him so much. Beating Big Boss in another area he failed.
And Kaz and Solid lived together in Alaska. With their dogs and his daughter. That's peace. Big Boss and Ocelot died defeated and miserable. Kaz won and got everything he wanted.
Kaz was a nice dude, and its sad because all the tragedy he went through damaged him.
That's why he's my favorite character in MGS
CHEMICAL BURGER BEST BURGER
Kazuhira wasn't blind, his eyes were damaged, so it made him light sensitive. But he still could see
Kaz is one of my favorite characters in any piece of fiction thank you for this

-Kaz “The Legend”
I didn't expect all the Kazuhira "(insert joke name)" Miller puns 😂😂 another great Meti video, a MGS video as well? I'm loving today 😄
Kaz’s voice actor Robin Atkin Downes does such a great job that I never really paid attention to the character, idk he just always felt like the narrator
I will forever hate Liquid Snake...
He looks like a person who thinks he is school but he isn't
same, he killed me like a damn fiddle!!
great video, always happy to see more Kaz content, but two things; Kaz isn't blind and he didn't lose his limbs during XOF's attack on Mother Base, the latter being either when his team was ambushed by the Skulls or during his torture
Scrolled down looking for this comment; thanks.
Such a good tale, and despite dying set up Solid Snake to eventually end it all.
What a good character.
*Extracts the most skilled soldier of all time*
“You gunna extract him?”
I would have loved some game from the time when Kaz was training Solid Snake to become the next.. Well, Snake.
Also he did know Venom Snake back when he was the Medic, but only found out he was said Medic after he was told of it
I salute this man for his dedication in everything he does. Even after losing his arm and his leg, he still fought for peace.
Kazuhira "95% of MGS5 is filler" Miller
Lol
Oh yeah, I noticed. Finally getting around to playing 5 and jesus do they love their side ops...
@@ElizabethDucc hope you played it like a damn fiddle
Yeah I finished it, ngl kinda bummed out with how things went.
Good ole Miller had his personality sucked out and put into tapes about hamburgers, Ocelot was watered down but was still best girl, Quiet who I was hoping was a failed prototype of the skulls for an epico revenge plot kinda just leaves and can't be chased because a random Russian hates snakes, and I guess somehow Eli loses his giant robot in the wild and then grows up to be Liquid.
Of course there were things I liked but when you're taking in a story and like... 70% of your characters are disappointing it hurts the overall experience
Never forgetti old Ocelot yelling "bang"
@@ElizabethDucc I was really upset at the quiet thing because I barely took her into the field but realizing I had to just to get her mission made me bring her along as a chore to complete, instead of actually wanting to keep her with me. So it just felt like bullshit when I spend 1 hour with a character and the game tries to pull an emotional goodbye at the end. Horseshit lol
I Have So much respect for Master Miller. i salute you

Kaz is one of my favorite characters I’m MGS. Such a sad but incredible part of Metal Gear Lore.
i always need more metal gear in my life
"They played us like a goddamn fiddle!" -Kazuhira Miller (Metal Gear)
The more i got into the lore of metal gear solid.
The more i need the life action movie to fully follow the story of the games.
I cant wait

more be like

Kazuhira "Mother Base for the Master Race" Miller
One of my favorite metal gear characters, glad you did this video!
Between Snake, straight arrow, and big boss, a living contradiction, Miller was probably the most realistic main character in the whole series because he actually changed a lot, but still stuck to his ideologies in the end.
I like to think it was ocelot who poisoned him. Like he went to millers house, they fought, ocelot runs, miller drinks it kinda knowing its sus.
THEY FUCKING KILLED HIM OFFSCREEN
Kaz has always been my favourite character, dunno why.
I think its nice that he wanted to bring peace and that he was able too in the end by defeating big boss in the end through is pupil, at least he did bring peace by taking down those who led him astray its like he took those that were bad along with him which in my opinion is true strength.
MGS video ? "I bet Cipher did this"
I like the idea that Miller saw what Outer Heaven had become and realized it wasn't the peace-bringing organization he had worked so hard to build.
METAL GEAR VIDEOOOOOS. THANK YOU DO MORE
Kazuhira "chicken instead of burger, please walk further" Miller
What is it about MGS and Jojo that makes their fans intersect so much? I say this as a huge fan of both.
Him just getting poisoned to death is so frustrating.
No final duel or decry against his former allies .
Just gets offed in a cowardly way. At least he found peace for a little while .
"They played us like a damn fiddle!"
You know what has bugged me for several years now? Millers arms! In the booklet of MGS1, the *official* artwork depicted Miller during the events of shadow mosses circa 2005 mind you, as having all four limbs. They Retconned his Fucking. Limbs!
nanomachines son
they played us like a damn fiddle
Most ppl mis interpret that Kaz is Blind . . . BUT NO
His Eye's are too sensitive to light which is why he wears his trusty iconic Sunglasses
Kazuhira"THEY PLAYED US LIKE A FIDDLE"Miller
another week for Beauty of Ghiaccio guys and I bet it will be awesome
