    Donna. Thanks again for your generosity in time and the free pattern. I've got a lot of large print children's fabric and this pattern will be ideal to use them in a charity quilt. Keep up the good work - your tutorials are fun to watch because you are obviously enjoying what you do.

    Donna!!! I am breaking my brain trying to get the perfect configuration on how to cut these with fat quarters. I must be an utter ditz! I actually had to sew two waste pieces together to get the star legs on some. I'm channeling my fore-mothers who were resourceful and creative (and self-forgiving?) and did whatever it took to get that piece together! Can you create a cutting diagram for fat quarters? That would be so stash-friendly since I fall in love with fabrics in fat quarter bundles and then find the pattern I want to do later. I've been doing this with a bunch of not so fabulous fabrics just to figure out the cutting diagram and have yet to grock it!

    I know I am getting here after many years. But I have just made a quilt using your tutorial and pattern for Project Linus and wanted to say thank you. I am a tentative quilter, but absolutely loved making this, and the kite tail border is adorable. I made it with my blue, white and red scraps with a bit of grey and charcoal thrown in and I hope some young person will love it.

    Brilliant!! I have always hated wasting the little triangles. I think I will double stitch from now on and save for borders. Thank you. I have been wanting to make a quilt for my grandson. I think he'd love this. And then, I have t2 uncles who are WWII vets. Am so afraid I won't get their quilts finished but imagine this pattern in patriotic colors. Wish we were closer to your shop. I am so excited when I get a notification that you have a new one. It would be a dream come true to get to Oregon and visit. I might need to wear a bib with all the drooling I would do in that sea of beautiful fabric and quilts. 😄 No, no actual drooling.

      The blocks finish 12 inches. I would probably use 20 blocks in a 4x5 layout if I was adding the Kite Tail border on top and bottom. This will give you a 48x60 inch patchwork. If you then add the borders on our download pattern the quilt should end up at about 63x87 inches.

    Hi Dordan. I come from Vietnam .do you sell circular cutting knives and fabrics? ❤❤❤

    • @bluzfan190
      @bluzfan190 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi PhuongVinh. I think you mean "rotary cutter," instead of "circular cutting knives." Donna Jordan is using a rotary cutter (yellow handle), with a special rotary cutting ruler (clear plastic) and a rotary cutting mat (green) that is not damaged by being cut, to cut the fabric into strips on the table.
      I like to buy fabric and other products from the Jordan Fabrics website to support the free videos, but I did not see rotary cutters or mats when I searched this site. You can find them online. I did see some rulers on this site.

    I love the way Donna uses the extras for borders (or pillows, table runners...) in so many of her designs! They add a beautiful unique touch while encouraging creativity. I rarely buy fabric (I use cut-up clothes, etc. and gleaned yardage), but if I did, I would do just what I do anyway-- avoid waste-- which is what Donna's cute bonus projects do.

    You’re a hit! I grew up around quilting! My great Grandmother my Grandmother my mother and aunts used to set around a quilt frame hanging from the ceiling and hand stitch quilts. The heavy hug you cotton batting make you feel better when you’re cold or sick quilts! I appreciate you and your family for your contribution to America and the fine art you produce!

    I always learn something from your tutorial. Now I understand need for certain sized borders. And I need to hear your tips and instructions more than once to have them sink in. I am a 30 year retired teacher and we were instructed to repeat instructions 30 times to make sure the students comprehended. I hear you every time. Thank you. Your photographer is the best!
