Billie Henderson and Bobby Smith, were my neighbors. The Spinners always looked out for us kids in the neighborhood. They didn't act like celebrities. They were great role models and mentors.
THANK U SIR, FOR THIS VERY NICE TRIBUTE TO THE SPINNERS. One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE GROUPS. Still LOVING ME SOME SPINNER'S 2024. R.I.P TO EACH OF THE SPINNERS. PRAYING FOR THERE FAMILIES, FRIENDS & FANS WHO LOVED & LOVE'S THEM STILL TODAY. SUCH MEMORABLE CLASSICS. SPECIAL THANKS TO LINDA CREED AND TOM BELL. AND THERE BAND MEMBERS. ALSO, TO EACH & EVERYONE WHO HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH EACH SONG SUNG BY THE SPINNERS. THE 3 YOUNG LADIES SINGING WITH THEM. THANKS TO EACH OF YOU FOR THE GREAT & AWESOME MEMORIES. THANKS FOR THIS POST. YOU GUYS WILL ALL BE GREATLY MISSED. THE SPINNINGS WILL LIVE ON IN OUR HEARTS, ( ALWAYS ). MANY BLESSINGS FOR EACH PERSON READING THIS.
One of my favorite groups. Had a friend who worked at Motown when they were in Detroit. Met Billy Henderson at her place one night when they were in NYC to perform. Very nice guy.
The Spinners were a favorite group for me. A lot of time spent on each member is great! Unfortunately, visuals don't match the narrator at times and some are incorrect. Polish your content please. This group deserves it. Thank you!
I HAVE NEVER HEARD A VOCAL GROUP THAT IMPRESSED ME SO MUCH! HOWEVER, THERE WERE MANY OTHERS THAT WERE REALLY GOOD ALSO. I'M 81 YEARS OLD NOW AND I'M A FORMER TRUMPET 🎺 PLAYER IN A R&B BAND! I WAS A MEMBER OF THE BAND IN 1962 WHILE SERVING AS A MILITARY POLICE OFFICER STATIONED AT FT. ALLEN, PUERTO RICO! ALL THE MEMBERS WERE SOLDIERS AS WELL. WE WERE AN INTEGRATED BAND. WE LOVED PLAYING MUSIC TOGETHER AS WE SERVED GOD AND COUNTRY FROM ALL INVADER'S FORIEGN AND DOMESTIC! AT THE TIME WHITE BANDS, THERE WERE SOME, DIDN'T USE HORNS. THE LEADER OF OUR BAND "JOE TURNER AND THE AMBASSADORS" WAS JOE A BAD ASS STAND UP BASS PLAYER. HE WAS AFRO-AMERICAN. I'LL NEVER EVER FORGET JOE BECAUSE OF THE DAY HE ASKED ME,"DO YA' WANNA' PLAY IN A BAND"! A YOUNG WHITE DUDE TO PLAY TRUMPET 🎺 IN AN R&B BAND. I FELT SO HONORED THAT HE HEARD ME PLAY AND AS A RESULT HE WANTED ME TO BE A PART OF HIS BAND. HE'S PROBABLY GONE TO BE WITH ALMIGHTY GOD BUT HE'S PROBABLY PLAYING THAT STAND UP BASS FOR THOSE IN HEAVEN. THOSE WERE TIMES I YOUNG HAVIN' THE TIME OF MY LIFE PLAYING MY HORN. WILSON PICKETT WAS ASKED THIS" PICKETT WHAT IS SOUL"! HE RESPONDED BY SAYING THIS " SOUL AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT A FEELIN' '! I AGREE CAUSE I GOT IT! GOOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE AND STAY STRONG IN THE FAITH AND ✌️ PEACE THAT SURPASSES UNDERSTANDING I PRAY FOR EACH OF YOU WHO READS MY COMMENT! RIGHT 👍 ON RIGHT 👍 ON! DIG THAT! LOL MICHAEL A SOUL BROTHER THAT WAS HONORED TO PLAY WITH MY FELLOW SOUL BROTHERS AND SOLDIERS! YEAH MAN! AND I STILL HAVE A LOT OF SOUL AT 81 YEARS OLD! AMAZING 😍🎉😊!!
Growing up in the 70's there were so many great soul groups. The radio was just blurring out beautiful soul music everyday. The Spinners was so good performing live, they was just such good dancers. Is really sad seeing all of these soul group members from that era all slowly passing away. Otis I think is one of the last from those great soul groups. All of that great music is still far better than the junk that's being played these days. Great music will live on for future generations to enjoy, and they get to come here on YT to enjoy all of those great groups performances. thanks for sharing the Spinners history. Peace Out.
I knew they had 10-12 fantastic songs. I didn't know about their induction into The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Or that they started in the 50s. Few musical acts have that kind of longevity. All of their songs are like time machines. But, Sadie, a kind of biographical ballad, can be tough to hear. It just takes you to those wonderful women, care givers, matriarch types, that for boomers, may no longer be with us. The light of days, decades past, buildings, the home kitchen, everything from a gone patch of life becomes so clear. As also, an understanding of the deeper lives of women who've taken care of us, loved us.
These guys were HUGE back in the 70's. "It's a Shame" and "Rubberband Man" are two of my favorites. I also really liked "Love Don't Love Nobody." At least they died from natural causes.
Philipe Wynn tried to pull a Davie Ruffin on The Spinners😮 that's wild. That's crazy, no one is better then the group, that's was Otis Williams said, and that's one of the reasons among others, that got David Ruffin kicked out of the Temptation's😅💯
Numpty you’re being ridiculously petty the Detroit Spinners were a group just because they weren’t playing instruments their vocal harmonies constitute musical melodies ergo a band, as each one was distinctive like instruments. Case closed. - go back in the closet.
These AI-generated narrations are simply terrible. Words are woefully mispronounced, and the overall feel is stiff and unfeeling. Please spend some money and hire real voice talent for these projects!
Actually, in the US they were always known as the Spinners. In some places outside the US they were known as the Tri-Phi Spinners, then the Motown Spinners, then the Detroit Spinners, before being known as the Spinners only.
Bless them all the one‘s that have passed and the ones that are still living excellent vocal group I’m not sure about this, but I thought they were Detroit spinners at one time was their name I could be wrong though anyway bless them all
@@WillieBowen-o2n They should have shadow pic used as a place filler for pictures. There's no (known) pictures of James Edwards, just of Chico Edwards and John Edwards (the picture they used).

I grew up listening to "The Spinners". I listen to their great music still. May they all rest in peace. 🙏🏾
I will Always love The Spinners
Philippe Wynn was and is my favorite entertainer out of ALL of them ‼️❤ it's really Sad that they are All gone now.🤔
The song called Sadie is my favorite. It reminds me of my late grandmother. 😢

They were a great group
Thank u very much
U are welcome
I. Met Bobby smith in the early 80s he came to visit me shortly before he died. He was a great talent and a good friend.
The Spinners were a favorite group for me. A lot of time spent on each member is great! Unfortunately, visuals don't match the narrator at times and some are incorrect. Polish your content please. This group deserves it. Thank you!
I see what you mean, showing Purvis Jackson on someone else’s name e.g.

Philippe Wynne was

His voice gave them their signature sound.
The best documentary ever, plenty of information. Thank you

Long overdue and they was the hottest group of 60s , only group that was over them as far as hit songs was jackson5 and that's facts
They were a fantastic group of singers love their music
Great group

They were my favorite group in the 70’s.
They will forever be one of my all time favorite bands.. may they all RIP
I love their Music like to sing their records, they touch my heart back then❤
Undoubtedly one of the most illustrious and stylish R&B band of all time. Their induction in the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame was most deserving.
Everybody keep say this is wrong, so lets correct it so it will be correct for the future 💯
Their songs were the soundtrack of my elementary and j.h.s days.
I always felt good listening to all their songs
You need to redo this and get the photos right. 😒
❤❤❤ good job
It's called abstract.
Did they show F Wynns' mother as an 1800s white woman? We have to stop supporting these AI channels. Horrible..
@Ephesians511News Right, that was mind boggling!
Hey OP… Not with background noise. Made it a few minutes and hell nah, back button!
Philipe Wynn tried to pull a Davie Ruffin on The Spinners😮 that's wild. That's crazy, no one is better then the group, that's was Otis Williams said, and that's one of the reasons among others, that got David Ruffin kicked out of the Temptation's😅💯
Love the Detrot Spinners
THE SPINNERS IS A VOCAL GROUP NOT A BAND
Numpty you’re being ridiculously petty the Detroit Spinners were a group just because they weren’t playing instruments their vocal harmonies constitute musical melodies ergo a band, as each one was distinctive like instruments. Case closed. - go back in the closet.

@@KevinPayton-fq8gdYes & I had to think about it a minute, cause I couldn't believe what I heard. 🫨

Aye some the pics you used in this video are NOT OK lol you be clownin !!!!
The AI narrated videos are terrible. The pictures are inaccurate and some are not even relevant to the subject matter. Do better!
They were called the Detroit Spinners. Then they shortened it to the Spinners.
Actually, in the US they were always known as the Spinners. In some places outside the US they were known as the Tri-Phi Spinners, then the Motown Spinners, then the Detroit Spinners, before being known as the Spinners only.
But HOW did this video leave out " It takes a fool to learn, that love don't love nobody"?🤔
Thanks….
There is NOTHING Sad About The Spinners.
The research for this video is horrible!
You're right! Said nothing about Pervis Jackson
Why use these Random pictures that are not correct?
Correct them for us. Teach us something. I'm love and is will to learn everyday, just about anything 💯
@theodorebenton5928 Right, they could have at least taken the time to match the photos with the person they were talking about. 🫤
Why do whoever is writing these stories frequently say the black groups lives were tragic?
❤💯
Most of this history is absolutely wrong
The only sad things about the spinners is the misinformation .do the homework B4 you go public.
Wrong! Billy did sing lead on some early sides….
Loaded with incorrect information
Bless them all the one‘s that have passed and the ones that are still living excellent vocal group I’m not sure about this, but I thought they were Detroit spinners at one time was their name I could be wrong though anyway bless them all
Nice...Audio???
STOP reporting wrong information. That’s not Woodlawn cemetery. I’m born and raised in Detroit..
Just STOP ✋
He also said Gwen Gordy was the sister to Harvey fuqua.
There is a Woodlawn cemetery in California also.
James edwards was not an original spinners
This video is sad and horrible.
WRONG PIC OF JAMES EDWARDS
@@WillieBowen-o2n They should have shadow pic used as a place filler for pictures. There's no (known) pictures of James Edwards, just of Chico Edwards and John Edwards (the picture they used).
You left out Billy Henderson
Mighty love "pit 1" bootsie collins band the pacemakers accompanied by a picture of gerry and the pacemakers, lazy cheap ridiculous.
His name is pronounced like Felipe 🤦🏾♀️

In My Opinion
Phillipe Wynn is The Greatest Lead Singer of Any Group❤
Make 1 child 🙏🏽
Bootsie Collins was with Gerry and the Pacemakers? He must've given them their mersey beat, huh? 😮
😂😂
