      It's a lofty dream for sure, but that is the sole reason I created this channel. I want everyone, even those with no experience in Unity, to have a workflow to make games with Anime art style.
      Of course, I do want to use those methods on my future games too. So, it's not an entirely selfless motivation. But I want to help people to achieve their dreams as well!
      This journey may belong. I have plans for future videos, but no end date in sight. When we finally reached the end, I hope you are still by my side 😄😄

    Hello! Firstly amazing tutorial!! And secondly I'm sorry if this is a silly question but would this function work for streaming? If so, how would one go about setting that up?

    • @ReForgeMode
      @ReForgeMode  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Glad I could help! Normally, I would recommend you to use this model on a vtubing application, but shaders are not supported by any of them, at least without some heavy modding.
      At the current time, I have no direct solution for this. You basically would need to create your own Vtubing app in Unity.
      Step 1: Find a plugin to do facial tracking
      Step 2: Make sure the facial tracking work on most camera
      Step 3: Somehow animate your characters blendshape according to the facial tracking.
      That is... A lot of work. But it could be useful for gamedev if you want to lipsync your character's expression. I might look into it sometime in the future.
      But for now, I think it's best to find mods on vtubing application to support custom scripts and custom shaders.

    hey man i really love your tutorials but i had a question: does this swap method works for swapping the clothes's mesh? :D

    • @ReForgeMode
      @ReForgeMode  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Glad you love it!
      Technically, you can. You can just change the variable to Mesh Filter. See this post in the forum for an example: forum.unity.com/threads/swapping-meshes-at-runtime.3445/
      Edit: But again, each clothes texture was mapped differently. So even if you deform the mesh, the texture might not work on the mesh.

  • @SombreDiamant

    Hello, thank you very much, this tutorial has proven itself very helpful !!
    I was wondering, is there a way to switch wings as the same time as eyes if the wings aren't the same shape ? I would like to switch from one wing to two but I can't find any tutorial ;;

    • @ReForgeMode
      @ReForgeMode  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad I could help!
      If the two wings have the same 3D Mesh, you could just swap the textures just like in the video.
      But if it's a different mesh, then you need to swap the mesh. It's going to be easy if the wings are separate from the body mesh.
      Alternatively, you can have two wings mesh in your character and show/hide one of them as needed, by making the textures transparent.

    Hello, thank you very much for the tutorial, do you think it would be possible to create a character customization being able to change the height, hair, skin tones among others, as if it were a vroid studio within unity, but simpler

    • @ReForgeMode
      @ReForgeMode  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmmm... I'll have to look into that. If it's just some limited customization, it is possible. Anything with just texture manipulation should work with the method I've shown in the video, like
      - Changing color/texture (skin, hair, eyes, clothes)
      Changing the mesh shape however, is a complicated matter, like
      - Changing hairstyle
      - Adjust body part size
      - Changing clothes mesh
      At that point, I think it is easier to somehow use VRoid Studio inside Unity, though I'm not sure if that's allowed, legally speaking.

    Do you know how to change hair of a model within Unity
    I lose all my bones when I export it from blender

    • @ReForgeMode
      @ReForgeMode  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're using VRoid Studio, don't export from Blender to Unity. There's a plugin called UniVRM that can import VRM files straight to Unity. I've made a tutorial on it right here: th-cam.com/video/IrIn9wRYqUI/w-d-xo.html
      In general, changing hair is very easy. Just like the method I explained in the video, all you need to do is to find the hair material and swap the texture used inside.

    Help it keeps bringing up an error saying i need a return type

    • @ReForgeMode
      @ReForgeMode  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Short answer: I think you just missed something while writing the script. There's a link to the Pastebin page in the description where you can copy-paste the entire script. Or you could also download the project on GitHub.
      Long answer: When you write a function, you must declare what kind of return type you need.
      *void* Function() means that you don't want to return anything
      *int* Function() means that you must specify what to return at the end of the function with *return value*
      I highly recommend you to check out some programming tutorials on the Unity Learn website. It's very informative and easy to follow!

  • @Kaithew
    @Kaithew 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you add this on a blendshape?

    • @ReForgeMode
      @ReForgeMode  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, no. Blendshapes are settings that manipulates the mesh position, size, and shape of an object. Very useful in facial expressions to represent the muscles of the face contracting and extending in different animations. Blendshapes can't change textures.
      Theoretically, there's a way to do it, where your model hides the second clothes mesh inside their model. Useful if your character has wings in their second phase, but clearly not practical for just plain clothes. You would need to remodel the character for that in Blender.
