      Yes, custom mesh will work as well. Just make sure you assign the right mouth blendshapes.

    UE5 nanite doesn't work on skel meshes yet, so polycount do still matter unless of course if you're gonna use these model as a static mesh that doesn't move.

      Yes, that's also the case of Occlusion Culling in Unity. Only static objects can be culled automatically. In that section of the video, I was talking about freeing up some performance by optimizing the environment as much as possible. So you can get away with using a high poly playable model.

    im having an issue that says the 'vrm meta' is missing when I try and export it. any idea what this means? also youre a legend for making this plugin so straightforward, thanks in advance!

      Hey, glad you like it! If I remember correctly, VRM Meta should automatically be added when you import your model to Unity. So I think you just need to delete your model in Unity Project Window and reimport it again. This issue could also be caused by using the wrong version of Unity. I recommend just using the template project I provided when you download this plugin. I also need to inform you that many Unity errors are just warnings. If the error doesn't interrupt your export process, it can be ignored.

    I have this problem where my blend shaped come out the bottom of the jaw. I'd love to see a tool that allows you to modify blend shapes in that nature

      You can use the Calibrator in NEBPro to adjust that blendshape at 7:56

    Neither blendshapes from NEB or the pro expressions seem to work in VNYAN? Followed both tutorials to the tee with no errors. Expressions show up on VSee to be toggled but Face blendshapes from model transfer while mocapping regularly don't register at all. Expressions do not register in VNYAN at all- it requires to import a vnyan expression file.

      Hmmmm... I'm not sure what the problem is here. If the blendshapes do show up in the list, then I think you just need to check the node trees configuration in VNyan. Also, make sure that you uploaded the right VSFAvatar file. That's a common mistake I encountered.

      In VSeeFace, turn on the expression called Show Pupil. This is kinda required for now until I figure out how to do it automatically.

      It's very version-sensitive. I recommend you to just use the template project I provided on the download page. It's also available on the free version.

      Hmmmm, that is weird. Did Unity generate several folders like Materials and Textures when you drag your VRM file in? I also recommend you to just use the template project I provided in the download. Just open it in Unity.

      @@infinityyy4478 That is so weird. I recommend starting over with a fresh template project and try again. That prefab (blue icon) should be there when those folders are generated.

On 0 its normal, but when i change the parameters the iris starts to look like a diamond (i dont know how to explain, but its very edgy) Do you know what i can do?       @@infinityyy4478 That's because you're using an old model on a 1.27 model. At the start of Expression Pack, tick the option that said I'm using "VRoid Studio 1.27 or later"

      Hi! Any UniVRM version should work. For errors in Unity, try clicking the clear button on the top right section of the Console Window. This should clear the error message. If the error message doesn't appear again, then it's totally fine and you can move on to the next step.

      Activate the "Show Pupil" blendshape every time you load your model in VSeeFace. I did explain this in the following video.

      The Unity Hub only looks at folders where your project is located. It doesn't show any files inside of it. Open that folder in your Windows Explorer to see all the files inside. If there is no files in it, then your download might be corrupt. Try download it again.

    This is a really great tool! I am trying to use it in my unity game, however my game is made using a 2022 version of unity which the plugin doesn't work with. I was able to get it working using the template project in the recommended working and I've exported my character. Is there any way to get this working for my game in it's 2022 version or do I will I have to downgrade the version of Unity for my game project to use it?

      Problem is not about the Unity version. It's about how the tool is made for vtubing. Currently, this tool doesn't have a direct way to use it natively in Unity. You have to call the animations directly. This is an issue I will fix on the next version, where you can specify at the start what you're using this tool for: vtubing or game development.

      No, this plugin doesn't work for non-VRoid characters. At its core, it works by manipulating common VRoid mesh data, which is uniform across all VRoid models, but not necessarily so on any 3D character model. Technically, it is possible to use some part of it just to add anime expressions, but I will need to make significant changes to the plugin. I don't see a big demand for that right now, so it's not in the list of things to do at the moment.

    One thing I've learned recently, is to reduce the smoothness of the smaller hair strands, to reduce the amount of subdivisions each hair strand has. That alone helped me getting from 100k polys down to less than 60k polys. I believe it was mentioned in one of the videos, that you linked to. Furthermore try not to over use the outfit layering function and make it a habit of actually using skin masks. As for the "Delete Transparent Meshes" option, I usually export my models twice. One without the Delete mesh option, which could be your base model, and the other one with delete transparent meshes active. I would then go on to transplant the face mesh of the base model to the one with the deleted Polygons. That will make sure, that you can use NEB or whatever other tool you may be using for shapekeys. The Delete Meshes function can cause some artefacts( stray transparent triangles), when you paint within the guide lines of the UVs, but don't fill out both triangles. I'm still surprised, that Pixiv didn't add an option of not dealing with the face mesh, when deleting transparent meshes though.

      Great advice! Yes, if you have more experience, you can optimize it even more in Blender. Reducing subdivisions is kinda what you do with regular 3D modelling too. Though, I wonder about the performance improvement from 100k poly to 60k poly aside from the loading times. In the original script for this video, I did create a tool to transplant Face mesh like you did there. But I kinda cut it off since I don't see much change in performance. I do know that my NEB plugin and Expression doesn't work on models with Delete Transparent Meshes since their mesh polycount is different.

      Well, I recommend checking if the collider works properly. Enable the Gizmo in the top right part of the Scene and Game window to see if it's there.

      Hello! I just checked the recent version of UniVRM and the list is still formatted the same as when this video is uploaded. VRM-0.124.0 is for the version 1.x and UniVRM-0.124.0 is for version 0.x. If there will be an update to this video, I would make further distinction between UniVRM 0.x and 1.x and clarify that URP doesn't work for most vtubing application. But everything will remain just as it is. If you just want your model to work as is, then I recommend just downloading the template project file provided in the video description..

      I'm looking at this right now. The problem is that VRM models have a different settings which prevent native LOD plugins in Unity from working. I am looking to find an alternative or a way to force them to have LODs. Plus, making different LOD models out of VRM models will also be quite an interesting challenge.

      ​@@ReForgeModetry the mantis lod plugin, i tested it and it auto generates lod levels even for vroid models. for a base 44k poly model , below 30k will start to miss details, but only below 20k will start to have and large visual impact.

    At 10:37 there is a feature that allows batch import of blendshapes. It would be great if there was a batch "Target Mesh" output option, as well. Selecting several target meshes at a time to copy blendshapes to would help relieve the tedious manual labor of outputting a target mesh from a input source mesh one by one.

      Well, if you already have one Target mesh that have all the new blendshapes... you can just transfer them to all other models. The mesh has to be exactly the same though, otherwise you get that monstrosity. I don't think it makes sense to have multiple Target fields. It would make it less intuitive. I'm open to feedback if you can argue otherwise.

      @ReForgeMode I have a collection of avatars that use the same base mesh poly count, which is where the blendshapes reside, but they all have different hair, clothing accessories, so it would be great to target all of the base meshes for each avatar and have the blendshapes from a source mesh batch target the remaining, say, 6k+ other avatars that share the same base mesh. Or however many fit in the field or have it point to a folder with a numbered naming convention. But a basic function as such would suffice. I've been asked several times if such a tool exists.

Even with batch Source import, it will still be quite a hassle to drag in to the inspector field one by one. Though, I think I can create a customizable version for you. Maybe the input could be just a folder and the script will try to find them one by one. This is a very niche case though, so I don't think I'll add it into the base NEB plugin.       Yeah, it's not possible to export it as just VRM. This expression pack works with custom shaders, which are not supported by default UniVRM. That's why I have to use VSeeFace SDK.

    Suppose i want only the expressions. Like Blushing and such... I could not export to .VRM. The SDK feels like only wants me to save in vsfavatar. I use Warudo though, After investing 1000 hours into it, i don't feel like changing my vtuber streaming software. Is there a way to convert vsfavatar to vrm?

      Yes! It is possible! That is how I added new expressions that are not available with Hinzka model. There's already a VRM importer plugin for Blender, so you can download that. But there are a few caveat: 1. You shouldn't touch the Face mesh. You can edit the clothes and the body whatever you like. But do not add or remove any mesh in the Face. 2. There's currently a bug where exporting from Blender back to Unity can cause the blendshapes to mess up. This is why I recommend you to modify your model as much as you like in Blender and leave Expression Pack as the last step. So the flow goes like this: VRoid Studio Export -> Blender -> Unity. If you do need to go back and forth between Unity and Blender, make sure to delete all blendshapes from the new model exported from Blender and transfer the blendshapes from the old model to the new model. I recommend using my NEB plugin to do that. On a more personal note, this back and forth bug with Blender is such a headache when I wanted to add the tongue blendshapes. So I wish you luck, and please ask any follow up questions if you found any troubles.

The issue I'm having is after exporting the model from Unity the pupils from my eyes disappear. Wondering if there was something I missed or forgot to do, but I believe it's something within Unity.       Yep, I'm still here! It's inexcusable for an under 10k subs channel to not reply to comments, especially on tutorial videos! For your issues, you just need to enable "Show Pupil" blendshape in VSeeFace/VNyan. Unfortunately, you have to do this every time you start the vtubing application due to how they work. This is actually explained in a follow-up video on update v1.1 If you need any more help, please let me know!

      ​@@Hydreigoon_Vtuber Hello! I haven't looked into IFacialMocap yet. So far my tutorial only applied to VSeeFace and a bit of VNyan. For you case, VSeeFace do have a similar function in beta, where you can set a set of expressions that will be shown on your character's face if your real life face matches it. It would be an interesting project if it's not already there in IFacialMocap. But if it already is there, then you just need to select the expression you want from a dropdown menu of your model's blendshape. On my part, I need to update my Expression Pack so that you can combine all expressions into a set, just like the default VRoid Studio "Happy, Sad, Angry, Surprised, and Joy". That should be coming in the next version v1.2 or maybe in v1.3

    I'm really excited about this tool but I get the error when I drag the vrm model into the expression pak "target model" box. Even though i did everything right. I think this is because I tried to edit my model (he has piercings on his face I added in blender) and exported the vrm from there and tried to use it in unity with this pack, is there a way to be able to edit in blender first and then continue with this pack in unity?

      Yes, this tool won't work if you modify the face mesh. For piercings, I think the best approach will be to just use a texture painted on the face itself. If you want it to be 3D, you can easily just make the piercing 3D model as a child of the Face gameobject in Unity. Make sure it's the face in the Hierarchy Window, inside the Neck gameobject. Quick tip: You can search the neck by using the search bar on the Hieararchy Window.

      Hmmmm, that's weird, since it works for me in the video. You might need to try out different options to refresh that component. Try switching other settings in that component. Or re-drag and drop different gameobjects.

    Heya, maybe a dumb question, but I'm trying to figure out how to transfer the 52 ARkit blendshapes to my model without overriding the VROID Studio blendshapes I have so I can animate with those as needed for certain scenes for this project I'm working on, but so far I've only either completely overwritten them or after deleting the ones I didn't want to transfer over with the Blendshape Organiser in the Pro version, the transfer deleted my VROID shapes and my model was only left with the 52 ARKit shapes. Is there a step I'm missing to preserve shapes or is this not currently a feature of NEBPro? Thanks!

      Yeah, so NEB set the default setting to just override the blendshapes with the Source blendshapes. I will add this feature in the next update where you can choose which field gets priority: the Source or Target. Thanks for the feedback!
