If i copy the blendshapes, will my vroid model lose her expressions i made for her in vroid studio?
When I imported the pack, the Reforge Mode option doesn't show up in my top window.
Is there an error on the console window? That would explain why it doesn't work. Also, I recommend using the provided template Unity project instead.

That is where your model should be. Use your model for this tool.
The only thing i Never learned to teach myself.. creating Mouth Blends... xD... I bet it's super easy since iO nly do Jaw Animations. xD
It's pretty difficult if you never do any blendshapes modeling in Blender. I'm mostly a programmer, so I never even tried those. I suggest finding tools or plugins to make it.
Does this work for NON VRoid characters? I mean, can it be used with any model?
Yes! Just make sure the model has facial blendshapes for AIEOU lips.
So I've been trying to get this to work for most of today. This is with a VRM 0 model because VSee doesn't like VRM 1.0. UniVRM-0.108.0_e16d with the SimpleURPToonLitOutlineExample_for0.108.0 set up will export a textureless white/light grey model with also no transparencies (as far as VSee and VNyan can interpret). It looks fine in unity itself, but the mouth material is flagged as unknown shader. It suggest exporting as gltf default, but the only shader I have there is an unlit one. An unlit export does work, but is, well, an unlit material. Replacing just the mouth material with the unlit shader has everything else still grey, untextured, and without transparencies. Importing without the SimpleURPToonLitOutlineExample_for0.108.0 gives me a magenta untextured model in unity.
I see. I recommend just downloading the template project in the description, which will use the last known Unity version and UniVRM compatible with the shader.
@ReForgeMode thank you, I'll try that when I have my laptop back from repairs! I've also been thinking of trying a different shader from an older version of the tutorial as a potential fix 🤞
Update your pipeline from built in to urp in rendering window and see the magic

its a great tutorial dont get me wrong... but i need a tutorial where enemys attack back... ive been trying to find a tutorial for enemys who attack back and can kill the player AND they have animations but i just cant find it and...im a dumb ass so i cant figure it out my self lol
That's an entirely different tutorial. It will be an enemy AI video. I would do one sometime in the future, since I do want to make a 3D combat system for the luls
Hi! I'm getting this message on a model that has just been exported from the latest version available of Vroid Studio: "ERROR! This model has been through Expression Pack at least once. Click on the button below to reset this model back to when it was imported." I've tried re-exporting and re-importing but it isn't working. Is this a known error? Is there a workaround? Thanks for your work!
Hi! I'm currently investigating some bugs in VRoid Studio v2.0. There might seem to be a complete model overhaul, which means I may have to update the tools again. If you're in a rush, I recommend exporting from older version of VRoid Studio.
@ReForgeMode no rush, I just wanted to understand if I was missing a step or if it was a bug. I'll wait, if you need more information on this error I'd be glad to screenshot everything - just let me know!
@@AchicoXion No problem! While waiting for the next update, I recommend you to send your VRM model to our Discord server for analysis. You can start a thread there so I can immediately look at the use cases. That warning only appears when the model has already gone through Expression Pack once to avoid some weird bugs when you do Expression Pack multiple times with the same model.

As long as you can run Unity and VRoid Studio, your laptop should be fine. It's just a tiny 70 MB plugin.

Ah, that means you just need to remove the ReimportModel and DisplayBlendshapeList components from your model. This is what I said at 3:16.

Thank you for this guide! Would the workaround for the hair (export to blender, reexport as vrm) work for the clothes as well?
No problem! Unfortunately, no. Not at this point, because the clothes are a part of the body mesh. So it's still better to have two different models with different clothes.
@@ReForgeMode i found a way to separate only the clothes from the body mesh, which is to use CATS blender plugin. Import the VRM using it, then using the plugin go to separate by > materials. This way, I can export a .vrm file consisting solely of the clothes. However, as i am an absolute beginner in unity, i have no idea how to actually use the clothes. I'm using the official unity Starter Assets - ThirdPerson, and using the default PlayerArmature, but I couldn't get the clothes to move together with the character (if i delete the character, the clothes move instead, funny huh). Please help, thank you!

Not quite! As I explained in this video, hair is a bit hard to do. Clothes are basically impossible right now. But I'm always looking for new ways to do it. Hopefully soon!
Hello! I have a quick question, i followed the guide to a T and even sat up the whole 49 expressions you have, but when i ran it through vseeface the pupils are gone and now i look possessed by satan or an eldritch god, any settings to check for in vseeface or unity? Thanks in advance!
Please make sure to activate "_Start Animation" and "_Initialize" blendshape when you start VSeeFace. A text box should warn you how to do so if you tick the choice at Page 1 by default.

I think it's because you didn't highlight the model in the Hierarchy Window before pressing Export, correct?
i have no idea, i just dragged and dropped the blendshape avatar into the blendshape proxy script and it fixed it. i think the new avatar just didnt go into the script whenever i put the new blendshapes in.

Hmmm, there might some shader error there. I would recommend checking the compatibility of the Unity version.

Hello! You don't use ScriptableObjects to set expressions. If you're using it for a game, you can skip VRM entirely and just call Face SkinnedMeshRenderer component and adjust the blendshape values.
@@ReForgeMode thank you! And there is a strange thing. I am making the animation in animator window. When i am in the scene view i can see it but when i switch to the game window it doesnt show! The same issue happenes with some static emothions. I set "All_happy" 100 persent in the inspector, but when the game is launched it is returning back to 0. Why? It seems that some emotions work but not all!
@@aneliaalabaster340 Well, it could be because of several factors. The Inspector variable went to 0 means that the animation was overriding the values you set in the Inspector, so the animation definitely does run. Unless you have a script that immediately set those values to 0 at Start() or Awake(). As for why the Game Window doesn't show your Facial animation, you may have set the Animator incorrectly. If you're using Animator Layers, make sure to set the "facial expression" layer to 100 by clicking the gear icon next to the Animator Layer name. Beyond that, I would check the Animation file itself and see if the animated property text turns yellow. That means that the properties are not in the correct position.

Oh, it's probably triggering the yandere texture as well, perhaps?
I may have found a way to make it work with warudo. It will depend if this works. I exported it as an fbx, and will be turning it into a warudo asset. It may be the only way it works. We will see.
I doubt that will work, since even if you manage to convert it perfectly, you will need to relink the animation and VFX one by one. But let me know if you manage to do so.
Will you have a way for warudo? Because from what I know, they have their own SDK for animations.
Yes, I will start looking into it next year. I think there's a sizable chunk of market for Expression Pack in Warudo. And it may even be more compatible than VSeeFace.
@@ReForgeMode I assume if I buy the pro version now, if and when warudo support comes I would have access to it? Or is warudo different enough that it would require a different version of your expression pack?
@@SilvyReacts I hope it will be easy enough so I can provide it to everyone since I haven't looked into WarudoSDK yet. I'd say wait until it gets released. I don't want to give you a "trust me bro" guarantee for the future beyond constant updates.

Personally I always use Blendshape Editor standalone program. But this is nice too.

I don't have a Mac, so I can't check if it works or not. But assuming that it just works on Unity, it should work.
can you please make a step by step tutorial on this entire setup? in the video half of the folders and files are different than what you have in kofi now and you keep jumping around and cutting information. really hard to follow as a beginner :(

Hey so I exported my model as VSF and it didn't work... Please tell me I can have a VSF and still use this. I am desperate Update: I found out it doesn't even work when I export as VRM. At this point I just don't know how to get this to work. I followed your tutorials exactly. I just don't know what to do anymore. I have tried so many different tools that all use different versions of unity. I have like 7 versions of unity on my computer at this point, and none of the tools I have tried have worked. I go into VSee face and there are no blendshapes
Hello! Use BlendshapeClipMaker before exporting. This is stated in the description of the product and on my following video on the matter.

@ReForgeMode okay...also i wasn't able to mention before but this tool works wonder and this project really increased my understanding but i was very curious to know about head moving..hair flowing animations of this avatar..needles to say these tools are life saver but i m still trying to learn to use them for my custom needs
I use VNyan and no matter how I do the graphs or even if i set hotkeys myself, nothing ever happens. I tested it in VSeeFace and only the Start Animation Blend Shape works for me, but not the Initalization one, so I get no Iris, so its basically not usable for me. I did everything excatly like in the Video, opened the project that was included etc. I looked everywhere because I thought maybe I need a specific VSeeFace or VNyan Version, but nowhere is stated what versions should be used with the file. I also cant seem to find a part in the video where the expressions are showcased in VNyan? Only for VSeeFace. I started with the free tool and to me only the animated expressions are interesting, since I want to implement the 52 Keyshapes for tracking too. (I think I would have to implement those Keyshapes before using this tool?)
You probably missed the _ name in the blendshape. So "_Start Animation" and "_Initialize"
@@ReForgeMode Nope I didnt, like I said, I did everything like in the Video. A programmer friend helped me and found the solution. It didnt recognize the Iris of my character, cuz it wasnt in the excact spot the program wanted it to be. ty anyways, maybe you can take a closer look at that in your code :)
i downloaded UniVRM URP Support forUniVRM-0.108.0. it must be compared to vrm plugin 0.108? so i cant use the latest version v0.128.0, am i right?
if so, why you havent updated URP Support for this plugin? Is it something wrong with URP? I have been told to use only URP in my projects because its kinda cool or whatever...
im sorry for asking too much questions but also i see that in my project without urp with version 128 VRM-model looks great, but in my new project 0.108 version with urp 0.108 it looks too bad. I am confused, what should i do??
Hello! If you just want to use your model for vtubing, you _can't_ use URP. Follow the requirements on the latest UniVRM as stated on the page. I heard there are some updates since this video got released almost 2 years ago.

And models that compared to 108 version with urp are looking bad and they dont have any outline! And there no other URP version compared to the latest unity vrm plugin! What should i do?

There is a way to do that already scheduled in future updates of Expression Pack. Probably in update v1.3 when it will come out. If you want to make it yourself, I recommend checking out my NEB plugin and set the tongue out blendshape in your model.

Huh... Well then, I guess it's better to skip it. is your PC good enough to do that? VRoid Studio is a bit flexible in terms of PC specs, but it does lag a lot on certain operations.
really wish you showed how to setup vseeface after this. i followed everything in this video and the previous one but none of the 52 blendshapes copied to vseeface

Haha, hope you enjoy it! Don't forget to use BlendshapeClipMaker before you export. Otherwise, the blendshapes won't be listed in your vtubing application. This package is included in the Ko-Fi download.

Love it though i couldnt seem to get blink workin in vsee? [usin ver 2.0 vdroid] i went w auto blinkin Recommendations for upgrading this: input/output expressions settings. I have multiple outfits for my model and would make it much quicker to get through them
Hello and thank you! Blinking is not affected with Expression Pack. Can you check your model before and after expression pack to see if it's another issue? Also, half of all settings in Expression Pack is saved. So if you have two models with the same facial shapes, you can just spam Next Page the second time. The only exception is on Page 5 onwards, since I haven't implemented saved functions yet on those pages.
@@ReForgeMode Yeah... only way i can figure out is to allow the reimportin option when using reforge.... When i posted this i forgot that another rec would be to use a different set of bangs something that doesn't block the eyebrows/much shorter bangs [idk how vnayan people use this cause it doesnt seem to like the fx export ver cause it cant find blendshapes but thats just a observation]
@@DetetivCat I do recommend clicking those help button on the top right on every pages if you're not sure what you're doing. It will bring you to the tutorial video.
When I adjust the Initialize and Start Animation blendshapes on VSeeFace they work, but I use VNyan. When I follow the same steps on VNyan the banner and lack of pupils remain. Any suggestions? D:
I'm using Hotkey > Blendshape nodes if someone has suggestions for something else I'd love to hear.
Hello! If you use hotkeys, you need to trigger both _Initialize and _Start Animation blendshape. The underscore matters. If you choose to enable it with hotkeys, you need to press those two every time you boot up VNyan.
@@ReForgeMode Thank you so much! I have these set to automatically trigger when I boot up, and it works for around 30-60mins and then it un-triggers (without pressing the hot keys!). It isn't fixed when I press the hot key again and I have to re-start VNyan. My apologies, but do you have any insight into this? I haven't updated to the latest version you have published (as of yesterday or a day ago), not sure if this was addressed!
@@otakotan Huh, that's new to me as well... I don't exactly know what caused that in VNyan, because all I did was modify your model. If there are some quirks in VNyan that did that, I recommend asking Sudivriel (VNyan creator). Do let me know too if you find the solution.

No. This should work for all versions of Unity. But if you want to be safe, test it out first with the free version before you make the purchase of the pro version.
I tried out the free version and while it seemed to work relatively easy, I don't see any extra blend shaped in my blendshape folder, is this normal?
